Returned yesterday from Icmeler after staying at the Marti Resort. WHAT A DUMP !!!
We stayed there in 2006 and again in 2007 so we were really looking forward to our stay in 2008 - in fact we had already booked for 2009 !!
The room we were given was the filthiest, dirtiest, shabbiest room on the planet. It was a disgrace. When we asked to move the answer we got was - you stay where you are or move to Marmaris. We even asked to be upgraded to a deluxe room but none were available - allegedly !!! I asked if the Dutch/German and Russian guests were put up in the sub standard rooms that had been allocated to the British guest or if they had the pleasure of the superior rooms - the manager just smiles smugly!! Oh and by the way we had already upgraded from a basic room to a Side sea view.
I have never seen a hotel go down hill so quickly over such a short space of time.
The drinks have gone up by over 50% in a year and the staff don't seem to care.
The beach boy that has been there for years has left and now the beach is neglected, filthy cig. butts littering it and generally unkept.
This is now a 3 star hotel with 1 star rooms BUT still charging 5 star prices.
We have already informed the hotel and Thomas Cook that we will be canceeling for 2009.
My advice - don't go - leave it to the Russians !!

Just got back and have to say this hotel is first class. Originally booked Half Board but
found the hotel quite expensive so upgraded to All Inclusive ( £100 per person per week). Well worth it if you can afford a little extra as it makes life so much easier and its cheaper in the long run as meals are quite expensive all around the resort.
The bars around the resort are very lively and loud so if you prefer a quieter meal then your best bet is to go to Mamaris Harbour.
The hotel rooms are immaculate and cleaned everyday, new towels and bedsheets changed daily.
Plenty of food choice (half a stone put on in 2 weeks :)
Entertainment : plenty of pool games and beach games arranged by the hard working entertainment team, special mention to Temel, Sedat , Ivana and Onur.
Evening entertainment could be better but they do have to cater for all nationalities.
Turkish people cannot do enough for you all very friendly. You do get a little hassle around the market area but you just tell them you are not interested and they are fine.
Must have a Turkish Bath and a trip to the mud baths.
definitely would go back next year if I could afford it ;)

We have just returned (24th June) from a week at the Hotel Marti and wish to reassure people that the buliding work taking place is not disruptive. The indoor pool has billboards up which have been painted very tastefully in lovely water colours with a lake and swan on them! The hotel entrance is not grand but once you go through reception and into the hotel gardens with the pools the setting is spectacular. The rooms are large but the bathroom could do with updating the tiles. We found the staff courteous and helpful and there were a lot of different nationalities there which was great when it came to watching Euro 2008. So glad we were all inclusive as it cost 6 lira for a coke and 18 lira for a cocktail. All cocktails, miller lager were included in all inclusive deal. Grounds immaculately kept and no problems getting a sun bed even though the hotel was full. Choice of food was better in the evening than at lunch time and the choice was varied. Icmeler is a lovely resort and the people there don't hassle you as much as other resorts. So glad I did not cancel when Direct Holidays rang to advise me building work was taking place and said I could cancel and get a full refund.

A lovely holiday, in every respect, can't wait to get back. The hotel facilities were without fault - but the staff, of all departments, made our holiday very special

This hotel was amazing! the best one i have ever stayed in! me and my boyfriend 20 and 21 went for a week in june and loved it, weather was great hotel was great, people, food, location everythin was great! own private beach with towels and beds eveyday, loadsa of pool space so never too crowded! really good entertainment team who involve you and make you feel welcome. nice canal with shops and restaurants/bars 100m to the right of this hotel. you can get a dolmus or boat cheap to marmaris every 1/2 hour. great excursions... mud bath etc. We loved this hotel that much we are goin back in september for my 21st birthday and can't wait! we didnt have a superior room however it was clean and always tidy cleaned regularly, we had an excellent view of the pool and sea which with side view i wasnt expecting. fruit and wine on arrival, free safe and air con in rooms. food is varied and the cakes are AMAZIN!! too many to choose from, only bad point was not knowin how to go about gettin seated in the restaurant etc you just have to help urself. the drinks you buy in the hotel at dinner or night get put on to a card which u have to pay at the end of the week which i didnt like because i had to keep holding money aside where i would rather of paid then and there. i would reccomend this hotel to anybody as it has alot to offer and is greattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

very dissapointed in this hotel, there was refurb work being carried out which got louder and more disruptive as the days went on.The room was very dark although it was very clean and well decorated,it was really minimal but we noticed as we checked out they were still adding drawers etc to the rooms.the dining room was also very dark and we spent alot of time searching for cutlery as tables never seemed to be relaid.it took 5 attempts to get our room safe looked at as it was broken when we arrived.food was good although it took ages for them to refill empty serving dishes.on a high note icmeler is a lovely place and the bay is beautiful.weather was great.

fantastic............... myself my partner and my 7 month old baby daughter stayed at the hotel Marrti and had a wonderful time!!!! i was a little nervous about taking a small babay to turkey but i have to say it was just wonderful a week wasnt long enough.
When we arrived at the Marti after a long night flight they greated us with bottles of water and rolls filled with fresh cheese and salad!!!!
our room was out this world. huge bed, flat screen tv at the end of the bed, marble floor, huge walk in shower, spot lights! we had up graded to the deluxe room would highly recomend very posh!!!
the food was second to none im very funny about eating abroad but i tried everything sooooo much to choose from.
The hotel itself was beautiful and very clean. all the staff were very kind and they loved our baby they fussed her all the time!
the pool again was wonderful just perfect for our baby.
We noticed a few people were half board but changed to all inc once they arrived as they found the drinks etc was VERY expensive.
the only thing i was a bit down about was the entertainment. there wasnt really any they had a kids disco and a few small bits going on but nothing really to sit and watch of an evening but still the surrondings and the bar were great! if yor taking a small baby there is a supermarket below the complex which do nappies and wipes and there is a small supermarket in the town a few mins away which do food jars but there not branded names. also we went to the market great fun but again if you have young ones go EARLY cause it gets very busy and hot.
we went to a fantastic shop which do great copys its called de j vu you must try it.
we are booking to go next year and taking our parents to cause we want to show them how fantastic it is xxxxx

I visited this hotel and i have to say it is the best hotel ever. I had the best holiday i have ever had. The hotel is very clean and the staff are excellent. They always went to help you and can't do enough for you.
The food was always fresh and there was always plenty to go round. The pool area was fantastic and you could always get a sunbed and parasol. The pool was a bit cold but not too offputting.
The main bar in the lobby is lovely and the oriental bar overlooking the sea has some lovely views even at night of around the bay.
If you are thinking of trvelling to this hotel i would definatley opt for All Inclusive as i found it was expensive to drink in the hotel. Of course if not there are an array of fab bars around icmeler centre which is just a five minute stroll along the beach front.
The market at Icmeler is brilliant too but i would go early as although it is under cover it is uphill so if you go later it gets hot you might find you don't see everything there is to see.

We stayed in the Marti Resort Hotel late Sept early Oct 07 and had one of the most relaxing holidays ever. The room was clean and very spacious, even the cleaners made an effort with the finishing touches in the way they laid out your towels with little flowers.
The food in the restaurant was excellent though I did hear some people complain as they wanted to eat just the same as they did at home. We always found an excellent choice, the waiters and bar staff were extremely friendly.
The entertainment team were on the go from early morning until late at night and were always happy.
If you did not want to drink in the hotel at night there were many bars very close to the hotel and all were very entertaining. I would most definitely go back. Reading some of the other reports I did wonder if they were really in the same hotel or maybe we were just lucky with the room we had, though we have now been twice and were more than happy on both occasions.

Rather than a hotel the Marti is a resort with a number of pools and bars. The hotel was very comfortable, clean, and friendly.
The staff are very polite and helpful. The beach is 3 metres from the hotel boundary. The beach and sea are very clean.
Plenty to do including almost any water sport you can mention.
The food is buffet style with a wide variety available.
Overall: Hotel 9/10 (rooms are ready for decorating)
Food: 10/10 - always fresh and plenty.
Local area: 10/10 - good market, local stalls / shops, beach, bars etc.
Marmaris is a short ride on a very frequent small bus which costs 1.75 lira irrespective how far you travel. You can easily walk into Icmeler.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, any age group - we could not find fault & are already looking to rebook for 2008!

Amazing holiday. The best of the best. Loved every minute. The food and people were great. The rooms were lovely.
The pools were clean and the indoor pools were great to relax in. the Turkish bath was amazing and I felt so refreshed afterwards. I certainly didn’t want to come home
The weather was so hot and I got the best tan. The doctor was also great and so was the hairdresser and so forth.
There was a wide range of activities and the shows at night had me in stitches. The waiters were superb and loved us.
The best holiday ever and would definitely come back again. 5*

Fantastic holiday, didn’t want to come back home!
The hotel was great, Very clean with a great variety of food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. So many activities to do and I can not emphasise how fantastic the entertainment team are; so energetic and welcoming making you feel like their best friend rather than a tourist.
The show put on in the evening by the entertainment team was great and the location of the hotel was good so that you can take a stroll down to a bar along the beach in the evenings.
The people in turkey are very friendly and I am defiantly missing the great atmosphere.
Would defiantly love to return! ***** 10 / 10

The Marti Hotel Resort is one of the nicest places that we have ever stayed.
The rooms are clean, staff very polite and helpful.
We had so much choice of food for breakfast and evening meals that it was difficult to choose. There were many healthy options and it was delicious.
Bar prices were slightly dearer than outside bars but only what you would expect in a hotel.
The only downside was the air conditioning which was not very effective but we did have extreme temperatures. It was also hot in the dining room if you could not get an outside table and lighting was poor once it got dark.
The view from the beach and balcony is absolutely stunning.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly go back again. In fact I can't wait.

Prior to taking this holiday, I had doubts because of some of the reviews I had read on here. However, I have to say that I think these people must have been to a different place as the holiday was superb.
We paid for a side sea view and ended up in one of the deluxe villas, not what we expected but absolutely brilliant!!
The staff were friendly and helpful; the place was very clean and the food was above average.
For people looking to visit this resort, I can highly recommend the spa. We booked the VIP package, which cost us just over £100. It was worthwhile and made for a very relaxing holiday.
I would definitely holiday at the Marti again, and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Very nice and attractive hotel for Turkey. Huge grounds, and never a problem getting a sunbed. There is a quiet pool and an activity pool if you felt lively.
Rooms nice enough, but not the best aircon. The mini bar is very expensive, but there is a shop just outside with most things about a quarter of the price.
The food was surprisingly good, with a large choice of food constantly being topped up, or cooked freshly while you waited.
Very good location, with the nightlife of Icmeler on your doorstep, and the dolmus to Marmaris just behind the hotel.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone, and will be returning.
