Prior to taking this holiday, I had doubts because of some of the reviews I had read on here. However, I have to say that I think these people must have been to a different place as the holiday was superb.
We paid for a side sea view and ended up in one of the deluxe villas, not what we expected but absolutely brilliant!!
The staff were friendly and helpful; the place was very clean and the food was above average.
For people looking to visit this resort, I can highly recommend the spa. We booked the VIP package, which cost us just over £100. It was worthwhile and made for a very relaxing holiday.
I would definitely holiday at the Marti again, and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Very nice and attractive hotel for Turkey. Huge grounds, and never a problem getting a sunbed. There is a quiet pool and an activity pool if you felt lively.
Rooms nice enough, but not the best aircon. The mini bar is very expensive, but there is a shop just outside with most things about a quarter of the price.
The food was surprisingly good, with a large choice of food constantly being topped up, or cooked freshly while you waited.
Very good location, with the nightlife of Icmeler on your doorstep, and the dolmus to Marmaris just behind the hotel.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone, and will be returning.

Overall are really excellent hotel well managed. Very clean and well maintained (a bit baffled by some comments on certain reviews).
The food left a lot to be desired and at the end of the week was becoming monotonous.
Rooms were not cleaned until 4 30 in the afternoon which was a bit inconvenient.
Service staff in general were very friendly and helpful.
Would consider returning in future but not on a half board basis because of the food issue, eating out would be a better option.

Just back from one of the best holidays we have ever been on. The location of the Marti hotel was excellent.
The service and friendliness of the staff was fantastic, nothing was too much of a problem. We were on half board which we were unsure about before we went, but this was dismissed from our thoughts the first night we had dinner, there was a great selection of food and all very well presented.
The complex was clean and well maintained. Our room was on the third floor and had spectacular views of the pool, sea and mountains; we also had the sun on our balcony.
A security guard is positioned on the main beach walk way to ensure that nobody can freely walk into the complex, which we thought was a great idea. However we felt completely safe at all times on our holiday as the Turkish people were so friendly.
The private beach with sun loungers was cleaned every day and waiter service was offered every half hour. The waffles we had on the beach were mouth-watering, which are available from the waffle stall next to the Marti hotel they are a defo to try.
Icmeler centre was only a 5 min walk and had everything you could possibly need.
We will definitely be going back to The Marti Hotel and would recommend it to anybody.

We know Icmeler very well having visited it regularly for 10 years or more. Not having been for a number of years we decided on our return we would stay at the Marti Resort Hotel. What a mistake.
This is without doubt the very worst 4/5 star we have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. Certainly the public areas, reception, pools, lounges are very nice indeed but this hotel is living on its past.
The accommodation was atrocious. The entrance door frame was falling off, on the balcony wall and floor tiles had fallen on to the floor and all there was to sit on was rusty old painted metal furniture. The room was old and tired but worst of all was the bathroom.
In the bathroom mirrors were threatening to fall off the wall if you touched them, all the silvering on those mirrors was breaking up around the edges, there was black mould around the edge of the bath.
The bath itself had a foot wide ledge on the side over which one had to clamber to use the bath. There were no grab handles. The tap on the basin was so old that amazingly every scrap of the chrome on its surface had worn down to the brass underneath. The walls were a mix of tiles where they had been patched up over the years.
I have never seen anything as bad as this wretched bathroom, it was primitive and dangerous and I would have been disappointed with it in a 2 star.
The Rep muttered something about the rooms were due for refurbishment. In our opinion that should have been done 5 years ago at least and I just bet it has still not been done.
In the restaurant the food and service were truly dreadful. Despite being open down one side the restaurant was usually full of a blue smoke haze from the huge, dirty and unventilated barbecue. For what was supposed to be a high class hotel the food was unbelievably bad.
Thomas Cook? Well they could not care less dismissing all our complaints and maintaining the hotel was performing to standard. You may guess we have not finished with them yet! We have travelled around most of the world and have never before met anything as bad as this place.
A once very nice hotel that has gone completely down the pan. We will happily go back to Icmeler as we have many friends there but never ever again to the truly dreadful Marti Resort Hotel.

We have stayed in Marti Hotel in August. It was lovely. Service and staff were perfect.
We bought some textile, leather and lovely jewellery from Marmaris. Vedat, More Jewellery was very funny, he had been living in Florida around 15 years, therefore he speaks fluent English. He was really our guide during our 15 days. Thank you Vedat. See you in May 2007.

Fantastic! Beautiful hotel, lovely room with two balconies, one overlooking the sea and the other to the side overlooking pine clad mountain. Spotlessly clean, both the room and the site. Excellent service from the waiters in the restaurant, nothing was too much for them, and they were very efficient, paying particular attention to my friend's elderly parents who came with us.
Fantastic variety of food at both breakfast and dinner, something for everyone, and we all ate far too much! Beautiful pools, plenty of well spaced out sun beds, also on the private beach. Lovely surprises from the room maids, who arranged our towels in fantastic designs on our beds each day, with blossom petals and leaves scattered over them. Sitting out on the balcony in the evening watching the sunset over the sea and the mountains was lovely.
Thomas Cook were stars - no delays, comfortable transfer and excellent attention.
We had some fantastic evenings in the bars along the canal side in Icmeler, with particular thanks to Fred and the gang at the Venice bar where the attention was wonderful and the shows they put on amazing, , and all the waiters and bar staff at the Bamboo Bar, where the music was lovely, and there was plenty of space to have a dance.
Amazing bargains in the shopping areas of Icmeler, which is huge, but the stalls along the canal side are great for clothes, sliver, pottery, leather goods, etc.
We took a boat ride to Marmaris for a morning, but found it a bit chaotic and rather like Blackpool and were hassled much worse by the stallholders than in Icmeler. On our last day we took a day sail around the bays on a Turkish Gullet, where all food and drinks were included in the price. This was total luxury, lazing around on deck all day in the sunshine, being waited on and seeing the fantastic scenery. We also had fantastic weather all week, very hot, lots of sunshine. Some rain on our last night, but not enough to keep us in. The weather broke the day we left, which is almost the end of the season. We were so lucky.
All in all it was a first class holiday and we had a ball! A thousand thanks to the Marti, to Thomas Cook and to everybody in Icmeler who made this so fantastic for us. We will definitely be returning next year.

We are a couple in our mid 20's and have visited the hotel Marti twice now, once in Sep 2005 and again in June 2006. We would definitely return again without fail.
The transfer from Dalaman is quite lengthy - about 2 hours (with several drop offs in Marmaris first) but its all worth it!
The hotel/resort is large and has well kept gardens/pool areas. It is situated right on the beach. The sun beds are free of charge and are a lot more spaced out than those on other areas of the beach.
There is an animation team onsite who work hard to get everyone involved and keep everyone entertained! We had a go at everything from water polo to salsa lessons which we really enjoyed!
On our first visit we were upgraded to a villa as they had no sea view rooms available. The villa was amazing, nicely situated next to the pool and we had a private Jacuzzi bath!
We weren’t disappointed on our second visit either. We had a lovely room with a side sea view (for which we didn’t pay any extra). Breakfast is served from 7am-10am (I think) and dinner 7pm-9pm.
We stayed half board and really enjoyed both the breakfasts and dinners - food was varied with a great choice on offer.
The resort of Icmeler is great if you don’t like the hustle and bustle of places such as Marmaris, but want a choice of activities in a relaxing resort. There are plenty of shops, water sports, trips and great restaurants on offer. You can easily get either a dolmus or even better, water taxi to the resorts of Marmaris and Turunc if you want to explore something a little different.
We definitely would recommend the resort of Icmeler and don’t think anyone would be disappointed with the hotel Marti with its excellent location and facilities.
Happy travelling!!

What a fantastic holiday!! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. I have been to turkey many times before but this was a first to Icmeler.
Our room was lovely, could of done with a lick of paint' but very spacious and had all facilities you would expect. The pool area is fantastic and the kids were entertained so well all day it was a true break for me! The entertainment in the hotel is above excellent, not only round the pool led by my now good friend Hakan but the evening, from comedy skits to a performance of cats it was truly superb! The bar staff however leave something to be desired?! Very very slow!
The buffet for both breakfast and dinner was very good, lots of choice and my children loved the fresh pancakes every morning!
Icmeler itself is fabulous, everything you could possibly want. The canal stalls are perfect for all those holiday gifts lots of silver but only one really good stall for that and that is "hakans silver"!! Restaurants are good. Cocoa beach is excellent, good food and prices and it even has its own Robbie Williams look-alike!
The Love Boat was also very good and you get served by an officer and a gentleman!!!!! All in all a fabulous holiday and after 2 weeks didn’t want to come home, but we have already booked for next year!!

We have been to the Hotel Marti twice, last year and as you can see recently. It has for some reason been awarded a further star, last year it was a four now it appears it has five. In my opinion is not warranted.
It has deteriorated somewhat, not in the overall. Gardens are still fantastic so are the pool areas. The bedrooms definitely need overhauling. We had a pool view (which you have to pay extra) our room carpets were very stained the fridge cupboard door was missing, the wardrobe glass door was damaged, the waiters and the bar staff must have been on a go slow when we were there as they preferred to hold conversations between themselves rather than serve or clear tables.
Beware of the plastic that is handed out as this adds up quite dramatically if you are not careful and has to be paid as you leave. Having said all this, Icmeler is the one of the nicest places I have been.
If you are going in the next couple of months beware of the wasps they are everywhere!

Was a fantastic, sunny warm holiday. As we were with my nephew who is 4 it was nice that the hotel staff and the locals were very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful scenery, lovely food, lovely weather and fantastic day trips. If I was to go again, I'd avoid Marmaris, I found it dirty and busy...not for me, but Icmeler was brilliant!
I''d recommend going to Dalyan, for the volcanic mud baths and hot sulphur pools. MMMmmm..... Also, a bar called friends, where we met our very own Joey! The canal marketplace is lovely to wander round and by the end of the holiday was good at bartering with the stallholders...definitely don’t pay the amount they ask....well over the top, you can usually knock the price by about half!!!
All in all, would definitely go back and would recommend it to anyone...hotel was lovely.

Well what can I say? The hotel is very dated, rooms I would grade as 2star, the Shower cubicle had mould around the walls, carpets in the rooms were dirty, furniture very dirty and are of need of updating. We were initially put into a 600 number room that looked straight down onto a cesspit? We complained at reception and eventually got shown to room 425 which had a better view only. BEWARE of the swipe card they give to you, as this is your credit card throughout your hotel stay, which you produce when you require drinks or food. It has your name written on it in pen which rubs off by the first day. We eventually had someone else’s card and of course they had ours!!! What a lot of trouble we had to sort this one out.
The Turkish need alot of training in communication, as they do not understand normal basic words. ( but yet again they are only earning £4 per day so can you blame them?). Our fold up bed had sheared off its hinges, all we asked for was another fold up bed, but oh no this was unheard of. Staff said "sorry but we have no more beds". (You need to be more firm with them or you wont get anywhere). In 2 hours we had our bed fixed. Air conditioning was not very good until we found out when the Turks were fixing the bed they pulled the cabinet covering the air conditioning off the wall, since then we kept it off and had a lovely cool room.
Now to the positive comments, Marti has lovely swimming
pools and grounds in the complex. Towels were changed on a daily basis. The food was fantastic, so much to choose from(although stay away from the restaurant from 7pm until 8pm as this is the invasion of the wasps time). Very nice reception area with large sofa’s.
What more can I say. To all those reviews that have said that it was beautiful, did they go recently? or was it in the 1960's, or do they expect dirty old rooms? I really don’t know? I suppose we are all different and what bothers some, others are happy to live in these conditions. This hotel needs to be degraded to a 2 star/3 star.

We have visited the Hotel Marti on two previous occasions and had a fantastic holiday both times. We have booked again this year and will be going in two weeks. I only hope it lives up to its previous experiences and has not deteriorated since our last visit.
The description in the brochure has lived up to the true life experience, the rooms were clean and fresh. The pools and poolside area’s immaculate and the food better than average and certainly better than other 4 star hotels we have stayed in. We have found the hotel value for money and can only hope it has maintained its standards.

This was our 4th year at the Marti Hotel Icmeler and we love it more every time we go! The hotel is beautiful and completely faultless and it’s like living absolute luxury.
We love the town too, and the people are unlike any other race in the whole world. They are so friendly and they make you feel like their best friend rather than a tourist! The town is also good for young people too, as my friends and I went out every night to the bars and the towns two clubs! I would recommend any1 going to Icmeler and particularly the Marti Hotel. Over the last few years i have met lots of friends and now there is a group of us who have arranged to go back every year to the Marti, as we are all so close!
It was really lovely meeting such nice people and makes the holiday that much more enjoyable! I’m already booked up for the next two years at the Marti hotel and cant wait until next July!

We have been to the Marti Hotel every yr and it is brilliant, we stay in the Marti Vacation Club in Violette I found it hard to believe that someone else who stayed in the same villa as what we do and lives in the north east.
From the minute you get there you know you are going to have a brilliant holiday this yr was extra special as it was are first yr in the villa (Violette) as we walked into reception we were giving a cold towel which was lovely as we had a very hot journey to the hotel we were checked in so fast we went and see out friends who had already been there a couple of days, the pool was as clean as ever we didn’t think the entertainment was as good this year but we didn’t let that spoil our holiday, the food was brilliant also there is a lovely restaurant around Icmeler.
We didn’t watch any of the shows on the night time so we could not comment, we met lots of people who return each year with us, I would recommend this hotel to anyone its BRILL.
