I booked 11 nights at the Yel Hotel within a week of flying because it was cheap, and if you are honest most people reading this review are looking at this Hotel for that same reason.
My partner and myself where a little dubious about what we would find on arrival, but everything worked out better than we had hoped for, the room was a little basic and dated but comfortable and cool with the air con on (cheap remember), the food was not five star but we did not pay five star prices there was always a choice of hot dishes and the salad bar was well stocked and tasty, no sausages for breakfast, something to do with the pigs in Turkey being really fast runners.
The staff where all friendly and could not do enough to help you, as we don't have children I cannot comment first hand on the kids club, but the children who where there seemed to be happy enough, it didn't just consist of showing dvds that where being sold (cheaper than town and good quality I might add).
All in all the beer was cold the weather was hot and the Hotel, Location and Staff where top class, and yes I have stayed at 5,4,3,2 and even 1 star hotels before, so if you are looking at this for an up to date recommendation I recommend the Yel.

I went away with my Gran in may just there 2011 and this hotel was far from yel from hell, it was one of the most enjoyable holidays I have ever had and me and my Gran loved it, we will be back in September, the staff were great, very friendly and polite, everyone was just lovely and just wanted to relax food was very nice and good, had loads a choice, pool was kept very clean and the hotel was very tidy, the only down fall i have about this hotel was the shower but apart from that i would well recommend this hotel cheap and cheerful was awesome :))

This hotel is nothing to Yel about in fact it's probably the worst hotel ever. The food is terrible, the staff are rude and unhelpful. While we were there some guests got money stolen from their safety deposit box and there were thefts from the bedrooms also. The rooms are clean but very very basic - a bit like Butlins actually. The entertainment consists of the showing of dvd's without any sound as the staff sell them.
On the positive side and there's not much. The pool is OK. The pool area can be very slippy where the water spills over the side. The surroundings are nice, it's a bit far away from the town but not a bad walk downhill all the way.
- Advice: Go to another hotel

This may seem strange as my holiday is booked for august 2011 but i have the right to say what i thnk.i have been to turkey 5 times ,4 of those 5 i stayed at the yel.the only reason i didnt go the 5th time was because it was fully booked, the manager Serdar from the different hotel i stayed in (destina)had been a manager at the yel in the past and i now hear is at the yel again. Therefore i can say with hand on my heart he will do more than his best to run the hotel to above its standard.i have had 5 very amazing holidays and staying at the yel helped make them so,i never had a problem with the hotel or the staff.if i ever had a problem(which was very rare)it was sorted quickly and efficiently.the food was always ample, the pool was beautiful, the scenery amazing and the staff even if they changed the following year were truely lovely.
i have read the reviews and feel sad to read some peoples opinions,i for one do not agree with the bad ones,if u want a fun, relaxing, and basically decent holiday then i would reccommend the yel hotel.

we stayed at the yell in september 2010. there were 4 adults and 2 children.for 10 nights we payed £1500 all inclusive which we were more than pleased with. swimming pool is fab with a slide. rooms are basic but clean, bread and salads are lovely, you have to remember that you are in turkey so food is not what you would get in spain etc.but you will not go hungry as there is allways something. snacks come out between dinner and tea and there is midnight soup and lovely bread. drinks are plentyfull and unlike all other a.i.i have stayed at you could get as many drinks as you wanted not just 1 at a time. the best part though was the lovely people we met there everyone was so friendly and nice, and big plus mostly brits. weather was gorgeous, kids loved it will definately go back again. the only downside was lack of entertainment for the little ones, should do a little nightly disco for them or something.

We booked a last-minute holiday here for one week. We were all inclusive and ate in the hotel most days, only eating out when we were on excursions. It is a typical Turkish budget hotel. It is clean and there were no problems with our room or the surroundings. The gardens are well maintained, the pool is clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. There is not that much entertainment during the day, but they do have something on every night, even if it's only a free coach trip to the local sports bar to watch big screen footy!
I have stayed in Hisaronu/Ovacik 4 times now and this hotel is on par with the others. I read all the negative reviews and looked at all the scary pictures, but I can only tell you that we had a great stay. So much so, that we are returning this year with a very large group and staying for 2 weeks. This hotel is totally underrated. Good for us, 'cos it keeps the price down!

this hotel was the worst i have ever stayed in. the only good thing was it was clean. the food was horrid i spent more money eating out every night i refused to eat in the hotel after being awake all night with cramps. the food was always cold and the rep just said thats how the turkish eat there food thie was a LIE. the bar staff were very rude and unfriendly and the manager would just walk round and stare at you. there was no entertainment and if you asked Ali the so called entertainer he would just but dvd's on. if it was ot for the people we meet there it would i have been a total regret going on holiday but everyone staying in the hotel said the same it was more of a 1* than 3 i would advise everyone to not go to this hotel.

We got all our money stolen from our safety deposit box at this hotel and the hotel management & police weren't interested. The hotel manager told us not to tell anyone about this as he was worried about the reputation of his hotel. He paid for us to move to another hotel after we made such a fuss and let people know what had happened.
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. the accommodation was very basic (not a 3*) the food was awful the same thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Chicken thighs & meatballs.
It was our first time in Turkey, Ovacik and it will be our last I would not recommend Turkey to anyone unless they want to be robbed!!!

After reading some of the reviews before the day before we set off I was very apprehensive. However we had nothing to worry about. The staff speak very good English and are very friendly. The hotel is beutiful and the Food was lovley. If you want sausage and bacon or fish and chips go to Blackpool. Even for my son who is fairly fussy there was something he liked and there is always lots of bread and salad to fill your plate with. The pool is not very deep so it is never too cold. The slide kept my 9 year old very active for at least 2 hours a day. You do however need to be up early if you want a sun bed. Guests are allowed to place towels on the beds from 7.30am and the hotel has no policy on removing them from those unoccupied for most of the day. Drinks are served in plastic beakers throughout the day but as the bar is by the poolside and children are moving around this is for safety reasons. Drinks are served in glasses in the evening when the pool is not in use. There is also a free mini bus to a private beach used by the hotel (Billy's beach) and this is in a small lagoon with very calm waters. It cost us 18 Turkish Lira for three beds and two parasols and 15tl for an hour on a pedelo, a really lovley day out.
- Advice: Nice and quiet place to relax. Very hilly so not ideal for those who struggle with mobility.
