I have just came back from this hotel (24th Aug). I was at this hotel at the same time as other reviwers.... First of all, the staff were amazing and I did NOT find them OTT. They did everything they could to make the holiday enjoyable and fun.
It is safe to assume that if you are on the ground floor you will undoubtedly hear noise from the above rooms. I was also on the ground floor and found the noise minimal.
As for youngsters jumping from the bridge, I seen this only once! A member of staff had words with those involved and it ceased.
Sunbeds - I got up at 8am to put my towels down and yes a few were there before me but there were a lot of loungers free even at 8.45-9.00am when I finished breakfast.
As always, someone will complain about something because it is in their nature...
I went on holiday with my little girl. She had an amazing time and used the hotel kids club. The kids club(run by Kirsty) was great - they had games, picnics, face painting etc. The entertainment was second to none, food was great and as I have a fussy little eater I had previously been concerned about the choice of food but when we arrived I was very pleasantly surprised at the range of food available. Children are well catered for.
I have booked the holiday again for August next year and I imagine I will return thereafter.

After returning on 21st August from a two week holiday, what can I say.... Well the staff were fantastic at Asena Village, very friendly always willing to help, sometimes a little too enthusiastic and overboard but nevertheless always helpful. I went on holiday with my husband, 3 children and took my disabled mother with us, yes we were luckly to be on the ground floor for mum, but unlucky in the fact that every night the floor above would come home late in the morning banging the railings, clip clopping in their heels, running around and generally making lots of noise. The accommodation is extremely basic, we booked a family room and got just two rooms with everything crammed into it, one room had a double bed and a camp bed in, the other room had two beds and a camp bed, as well as a fridge (which they had the cheek to charge for putting anything into, so don't use the fridge), and a television which the reception was rubbish and you only got 5 channels 2 of which were in english. The bathroom - well what can I say, the shower was so small and had mould crawling up the walls, the toilet smelt terrible, the only good thing about the room was the maid who was lovely and left our room and clean as possible in the circumstances, & they also had the cheek to charge us 3 under occupancy. Around the apartments were always clean and the pool area was lovely, but like true british style they don't like to miss out on an opportunity to get a decent sunbed, so they were out at 6am in the morning, its supposed to be a holiday not a bloody race to see who can get the first sunbed, they have signs saying no towels before 8am but nobody pays any attention to them. Young teenage boys were always diving and jumping in from the bridge when there was signs saying not to, taking into consideration that kids swim around under the bridge and could easily be hurt or worse jumped on, what is wrong with the parents of these kids, do they post their brains thru the letterbox when they leave home and forget about other people on holiday. I lovely Turkey and would certainly return but not to this hotel.

Pool bar staff are excellent. Food was very good and value was good too. Rooms were basic and not ideal for young children. Facilities were good like the barbers and sauna. Breakfast was basic and overall I would say this resort is best for families with teens.

i really can't believe some of the reviews on this page
we returned yesterday from the Asena village, there were 4 adults and 7 kids in our party and we had 10 fantastic days,my children really didn't want to come home
i admit our friends room wasn't fantastic but ours was lovely they obviously have'nt got round to revamping them all yet but does it matter you only use them for sleeping in any way
the staff were incredible,so friendly, attentive, enthusiastic, always smiling, they seemed to have a wonderful rappor with each other
yes i agree the sunbed reserving did start early-6.30am,the hotel did say that you shouldnt start till the pool was open at 8am but nobody took any notice and the hotel staff didn't enforce it as they should have but i was glad of it really as it made sure i didnt waste my holiday lieing in bed in the mornings and 7am was a beautiful time of the day to sit out and watch the place come to life
my argument doesnt really lie with the turkish for allowing the sunbed reserving to go on but with the incredibly inconsiderate british who were not satisfied to just put out a few towels but who saw fit to start dragging sunbeds and parasols around at 6.30 am completely disregarding the fact that many people including children were in bed asleep very close by and were being woken by the terrible dragging noise.i could go on forever!!!

my family and i have just returned from asena village and i would definately say never again,it was awful, its true what they say about the accomodation being a a bit run down which i was prepared for but as for the rest of it,the food was very bland, good if u love chips and boiled rice, after the first week i just couldnt physically eat it anymore,we often sat there for a long time waiting to be served, once being over 40 mins just for a bottle of water on every occasion we had to clear our own table and often waited so long for a high chair i would go and get it myself, the service was terrible and its true what they say if you werent spending loads on alcohol the staff just werent interested, the hotel itself is very expensive,on average we spent £300 a week on just water and ice creams for the kids, you was allowed to bring anything from the outside in which a hell of a lot cheaper,we did everything we could to get out of that hotel,it was far to busy and if you werent by the pool at 8 am you wouldnt get a sun lounger,i spent the last 3 days in my hotel room as there just wasnt anywhere for us to go,at this time of year you would also wait in a line to the buffet for up to 30 mins...we have a 11yr old,a 6yr old and a 2 yr old,the older 2 coped but our 2yr old just didnt, she had no where to play as its all stairs,we arrived at 3am to find no cot in the room only to be told we would have to wait 2 days as there is none available, this has been the worst experience of turkey i have ever had and many i spoke to out there agrred with me,i am very dissapointed in thomson for allowing such a place to accomodate my family!!!

We have just arrived home from Asena Village. Wanting to return as soon as possible. The hotel staff helped make this holiday for us. It feels like they are on holiday with you, without being intrusive. We were greeted at 2am in the morning with smiles from the bell boy who carried our cases to reception an to our room. The rooms are basic but very clean. We were situated just away from the pool area which we appreciated because the Turkish people love music and play it continuously!!! They played a cross section of what you hear on our local radio station and Turkish music.
The food was excellent, plenty to choose from, spiced things as well as plainer food with various salads and beautiful breads. Sunday roast was on the menu and the yorkshire puddings were cooked to perfection. The waiters were on hand continuously to take orders for drinks and clear plates leaving no mess for flies!!!
The hotel was not over priced for drinks or food etc. Service was excellent. The team worked extremely long hours and were always happy, energetic and only to happy to help.
The setting for the hotel was wonderful. In the evening we sat on the terraced restaurant surrounded by mountain veiws with a gentle breeze. There was various entertainment nearly every night from belly dancers and acrobatics to staff dances. They always got the audience to join in and have ago.
It is a short walk to the centre of Hisaronu which is bustling with traders and shoppers. I was surprised at the type of goods for sale. Not much authentic Turkish items mostly repros of designer goods. The market was an experience in itself which was held on Mondays.
The beaches in the area were great. You could catch a Dolmus(minibus) to Olu De Niz which was 10mins down the hill for next to nothing. The sand was shingle with beautiful blue sea and watch the paragliders landing from the mountain tops. The Blue Lagoon which is just up the road 5 mins is a conservation sight so you have to pay an entrance fee (not much) I found it more expensive for drinks etc an a bit crowded.
My favourite beach was Sugar beach which is a furhter 10 mins along the road. Can be reach by Taxi outside Asena Village 15 turkish lira. Alternatively you can ring Sugar beach who will pick you up and drop you home again at the end of the day for free. It is lovely and quiet with a bohemiem feel to it. The lake water was like getting into a bath. It was great for children as for 5 turkish lira they can pop in and out all day to play in the childrens area. The food was delicious and the pedeloes great fun. Some afternoons they have entertainment.
We went on the Ephesus and Pummakale trip which was great. If you go Ephesus I recommend you cover up as there is no shade to speak of and the air is very still and extremely hot.
We also had a day trip to Rhodes which was 90 mins from Fetihye on the Hydrofoil. Again I would cover up. As on the Turkish dock the passport control was extremely slow with no shade.
The Dalyan Mud baths was great fun. As well as the drag show Talk of the Town in Hisaronu. Its very funny an not at all as scarey as I thought it was going to be.
I noticed the lack of Health and Safety restrictions in Turkey which was most refreshing. There is a sense of freedom, a very relaxed atmosphere. I was apprehensive before our trip but soon realised my fears were unfounded. The Turkish people are most friendly and non threatening. They seem to like the english and cater for us very well. They are not lecherous at all. They were extremely respectful at all times.
I am looking forward to my next trip to Turkey as soon as possible.
Thank you Arsena Boys.

I went to asena with my husband and 3 children, (girls) one of which is a teenager aged 15. firstly i can't even begin to believe the bad reviews, i suppose some people are far to picky and fussy!!
The hotel staff are the most lovely people you are ever likely to meet, and cant do enough for you, they work such long hours for very little, but it never shows as they are allways lively and happy. My three daughters were made a real fuss of, and they wernt at all sleezy with my teenager they were very repectful at all times.
The food was perfect every day, with a varied selection every night and allways plenty of fresh fruit and salad to accompany every meal, and on sunday they put on a full english roast, which is far better that most restaurants in England could produce.
I have children that are fussy eaters and there was something to please them every day.
The Hotel it self is set in a beautiful location with mountain backdrops, the rooms are basic but very clean, and the location is perfect no hills to walk up just a straight walk into the local town, if you want to go to the olu deniz ( blue lagoon) beach there are usually taxi's waiting outside the hotel to take you where ever you want to go. (Cheap)
If you go to turkey you must be prepared, the people are very friendly they love children and often cuddle them i have three daughters and i never felt threatend once by this as they mean well.
At the asena hotel the staff were so freindly my girls were all crying when we left and the staff waited an hour with us for our transfer coach to arrive, giving us a lovely farewell hug.
i would definately return to this hotel, the outstanding staff which spring to mind were, Emrah, Sait, Kad, Mustafa, and Bilal, joe, haken, david, and DJ.
there is lots to do once your there, if you go horse riding go direct to the stables which you can walk to from the hotel it is only a two minute walk from asena and is cheaper to go direct, i didnt realise this and booked it in town, but it still only cost £10 per person for a three hour horse ride into the beautiful mountains.
Book your trips with local operators in town, which is only 5 mins from hotel and its cheaper than going through the hotel, we went on boat trips, jeep safaris and Quad safaris, cheap days out but excellent fun, on the boat trips you get to swim in the clear seas, and the jeep safari shows you the real turkey.
we all had the best time ever and will be return next year, love to all at asena xxxxxx

We went to Asena Village Hotel for the half term break.Wearrived late at night having booked two bedroom accommodation they showed the 3 of us, my partner and 15 year old son into a cramped single room with two twin beds and 1 small camp bed. The room was situated opposite the noisy bar.I walked straight in and straight out ,back at reception they swiftly checked my paperwork and moved us further away to another building away from the center of the complex.
This was an open plan affair 1 double bed upstairs and twin beds downstairs.First impressions all looked ok.The wooden window frames and doors were rotten and corroding away the patio door was seized solid the upper balcony railings and staircase railings were loose and rickety. There was evidence of wall sockets over heating and to top it off there were 5 slugs crawling around both the bathroom and bedroom. These became a regular feature. You could see where they had left their trail of slime and excrement over my razor and comb one morning. The room smelt and felt damp and the wind at night whistled under the doors.
I did complain to the rep the next morning and the room was cleaned and left in a better state but this whole episode put us off the whole complex and we went out every day to get out of the complex.
This would not have been acceptable back in the Uk and as some one whose family is in the holiday business and has been for 40 years it was Thomson a down right disgrace!!!!!!

fantastic although some of the decor is past its best & not luxurious the hotel is run superbly ,the staff cannot do enough for you, food & drink are good and inexpensive with everything booked onto your swipe card which you then sign & keep a receipt & the bill tallied exactly at the end of week.Location is in a quiet part of town only 5 mins walk to centre and with lovely mountain views.Ideal for families with activities if you want to join in.Rooms basic but clean .Definately recommend .

visited in August 2008, pool area was tired and in need of an update. Was amazed that the rush for sunbeds began at 05:30am, ashamed to say I was drawn into this saga which kind of took the relaxation out of the holiday for us! Seriously don't visit in August if you aren't prepared to do this or you'll just not get a sunbed! We chose this hotel for the Thomsons kids club which was very good but you are tied to staying round the pool to use it (hence the need for the dawn sunbed race). A few people we met had things go missing around the pool, nike trainers, suntan lotion, kids toys...could have been anyone from guests to staff but have not experienced this in ten years we have visited Turkey. Childrens games room was poor, broken games and an old pool table. Entertainment was poor, and the bar very pricey. Found staff unfriendly towards guests that did not want to just sit and get pished all day. What really spoilt this holiday for us was the thefts, sunbed rush and tired pool area. Would not go back, it's over priced, run down and well below the standards I have come to expect of Thomson.

This is a true find, ignore the bad reviews about silly staff and shabby rooms, this is fab. I have never been so impressed, the staff are something very very special.
