This is a pretty fab hotel. The position is great for the beach, Rhodes town, local shops and bars, and sight seeing. The food was very good with a choice of 3 different meats at least at every evening meal. Breakfasts were great too with full fried and even pancakes on some days. Sausages were the frankfurter type but I love em. Lunch also very varied with hot or cold choices. Dinner sweets not too bad at all, even if repetitive. Plenty of fruit. Water, soft drinks, wine, white or red, and beer, all on tap for you to help yourself when dining. 3 Bars all serving the usual stuff, and service was good right up to 11.30pm.
Rooms cleaned every day and towels changed every other day. Beds were hard! Mozzies bite like mad, so be prepared. Not the best of airlines to fly with, T.C. but would definitely stay here again.

This is a great all inclusive family hotel, most popular with the Scandinavians and it didn't disappoint one bit.
The best stuff:
It is huge, the pools are well equipped and the food is plentiful and of good quality.
Its family friendly.
Lots of shops and bars nearby.
11 euros from the airport in a taxi.
So now the bad stuff;
It's very windy (but great for wind surfers!!)
Pebbly beach (but great if you don't like sand in your towel!!)
Nightlife in the hotel is pretty terrible (so go out!!)
A bit of a rip off locally (so haggle) or better still find the supermarket on the main road.
Suncreams were priced at 9-18 euros, Cheek!
9/10 score overall, we had a fabulous sundrenched holiday and Forum Beach is recommended.

If your staying at the forum beach hotel Rhodes this year 2009, holiday makers be warned there may not be rooms available for you and your family. We booked this 4* hotel in January 2009 for a two week all inclusive holiday commencing the first 2 weeks in July. Upon arriving at this resort we were told there were no rooms available regardless of us booking two rooms at this resort 7months earlier. Our group of five were then transferred to a sister hotel The forum residence which is a lesser star rating hotel than the one we had booked and paid for. I spoke to other holiday makers during our stay who stated that they were in the exact same position as I. At first it appeared to be just us English who were being singled out i.e. transferred to the lesser star rating hotel however as each day passed I saw more and more people had arrived from the forum beach hotel with the same old story no rooms hotel full . I then spoke to one German family same scenario but I must add this guy worked and lived in the UK so everyone I spoke to all came from the uk. The hotel we were transferred to (forum residence) appeared to be acting as an overflow for the forum beach hotel. On the day we arrived at forum beach hotel the reception staff member instructed us to walk to the forum residence hotel bearing in mind my group consisted of a 71 year old and we had all been travelling for over 12 hours. We were also subjected to flight delays due to insufficient Greek air traffic controllers (oh by the way this is now becoming increasingly common according to the easy jet pilot who made the passenger cabin announcement.) When we asked to speak to the hotel Manager we were told he had gone home sick nothing else was explained to us so we refused to leave the hotel until such time as a person in authority spoke with us. The manager of the hotel we were being transferred to George then came to the forum beach hotel and explained we could still use all the facilities of the forum beach hotel and he personally drove us and our cases to his hotel . I found the food at the forum beach ok the only downside is the shear greed of other guest . I suggest you wear trainers to dinner as your need to be quick on your toes to grab enough food to stay alive. Another good tip make sure you learn German so you can insult those who have queue jumped or steal your morning toast that I loving put in that stupid machine which by the way takes ages to toast. As for the sun beds around the pools forget it they all appeared taken before the sun came up. You could say insufficient sun beds for the amount of guests that stay at this resort. Lunch time is fun due to the fact that the other quests pull their sun beds over the walkways that lead to the hall that provides lunch you may need them trainers again this time to practise either hurdling or jumping over sun beds and occupiers of sun beds in-order to get your lunch. I did not hear many English speaking people in this hotel. At night after dinner there was really long queues for the bar and I could never get a seat near the entertainment it was like watching a dot in the distance (so to speak) however judging by what I could hear on the speakers I didn’t miss much. As for the accommodation this hotel provides I looked in a room as I walked to the bar at night and it looked ok. The forum beach hotel is a really busy crowded complex. The pool water always looked murky and personally I would never want to stay there. I think because I stayed in another hotel but used the facilities of the forum beach hotel I’m in a better position than most to compare standards and write this review In a way I’m glad we were transferred to the Forum residence hotel it was mainly English holiday makers, the pool looked clean and there was always a sun bed available regardless of time of day. The accommodation looked far more superior to that of the forum beach hotel. Our rooms had a walk in shower room and a additional bathroom in the main bedroom which contained a sink, Jacuzzi bath and shower head. The room also had two TV’s one in the bedroom the other in the lounge/ sofa bed/ kitchenette area. The air conditioning unit was situated in the lounge area so not idea for them hot nights especially if you have to close the bedroom door. The rooms we stayed in were nicely decorated and clean. The pool bar staff were quick polite and interacted with the guests no long queues here. The reception staff were great and very helpful and as for the hotel manager George I have never met such a nice and truly sincere person. I felt the night I arrived to start my holiday if George had not intervened I would have returned to England forthwith and never bothered to visit any Greek place ever again. I did wonder why this hotel was a lesser star rating than the forum beach if your reading this and wondering the same may I suggest you try the food your have no trouble finding a table to sit at. Oh my god its horrible except for breakfast that’s edible. The food is not cooked on site its was normally cold, The chicken pieces were normally very pink when cut open. There was very limited choice and as a rule it was the same stuff everyday. I like salad but again very limited it consisted most nights of cabbage not lettuce the tomatoes and cucumber were mixed in with the cabbage so most of the guest just pick out the tomatoes and cucumber leaving others the cabbage. The staff were slow in replacing empty buffet food trays and if you think the choice for adults is bad try finding food for your child. I used to go in the forum residence restaurant every lunch time and evening look at the food and walk to either the forum beach hotel restaurant and eat there instead or purchase food from nirvana sports café. Initially there was no entertainment at the forum residence however this did changed on my last four days on holiday. During the day water polo and the man organising it was a real laugh the kids around the pool seem to like him and join in. At night we were now allowed to take our all inclusive drinks into the absolute bar as they had organised events such as karaoke, 60’s and 70’s nights. We sang I will survive, we thought this was a fitting song as we found the food so bad. Would I stay at the forum residence again yes but only bed and breakfast. The two hotel I mention are interlinked and owned by the same company so why such a difference in choice and quality of food.

The hotel room was clean and tidy but thats the only good point.
Firstly the hotel was full of Germans, Dutch, Danish, this would have been fine if they hadn't have been so rude. As we were one of the only British couples staying. They were looking at us as if we had two heads, plus every sunbed by the pool was taken before sunrise.
Secondly the food was poor and not a wide selection, considering we went to greece for a holiday they only had one night of greek food in the hotel!?!?! My partner was really ill on the 3rd day with an upset stomach and still having problems with it now we're home.
I would not recommend this hotel unless your German, Dutch or Danish and want food poisoning

Firstly I wish I had read the reviews before booking our holiday at Forum Beach Hotel..I would never have booked.
We checked in late so went straight to our room which was clean and tidy, but fairly cramped for two adults and 3 children. We were told by the most uncooperative man at reception that we could not have air con until the following morning so suffered the heat for the first night.
On the second day My 15 year old son walked to reception to get some change and slipped on some water tearing the ligaments in his ankle which instantly bruised and doubled in size. The receptionist who peered over her desk did nothing to help for the five miniutes he sat crying and clutching his foot. and eventually another child found us at the pool side and informed us. Even when we asked for a doctor or ambulance the only help offered was to call us a taxi to hospital at our own cost.
I won't go into the lack of help at the hospital, needless to say on returning from hospital trying to get some crutches or a wheel chair from reception was a waste of time, we were told they did not provide any, and there were none in the hotel. My son was unable to walk un-aided so the following day we located a chemist and purchased a set of crutches.
I still requested several times a wheel chair as my sons arms and palms were blistered from using the crutches and he was clearly still in a lot of pain, but I was told by several staff that they did not have any.
Finally our holiday was over, we could escape the Germans reserving sunbeds and frankfurters for dinner every night.
We packed and made our way to reception where we requested the key to the luggage room. I lead the way and opened the door...There, at the back of the room sat two wheel chairs and one set of crutches.
My raised voice and criticism of the reception staff to thier faces was a waste of energy so approached the manager who wasn't even aware my son had been injured in his reception.
Needless to say I will never book with this resort again and hope you dont.

Where do I begin??? I read several reviews on this hotel and went along thinking it would be the perfect place for a family holiday. My party consisted of two adults and 3 children. The room was fairly clean and spacious and the housekeeping was very good. The food was not good at all - some dishes were quite acceptable but in the main not good at all. My children barely ate anything other than fries. On the whole the food is aimed at Germans, Dutch, Danish etc and there was a real lack of fresh fruit which seems bizarre for such a good fruit growing climate???? However we persevered with the food but sadly on the third day of the holiday, my friend became extremely ill. She spent the last 4 days of our 1 week holiday in her bed. Upon returning to the UK she immediately visited her Doctor who took tests and the result came back as salmonella. Clearly the enviromental health are now involved. We did not eat anywhere else as we were on a strict budget and had paid for an all inclusive deal. Please be careful if you are thinking of visiting this hotel. On a good point however, the animation team were quite good. Oh, and if you want a sunbed by one of the pools - you have to be up at 6.30!!!

If it wasn't for the fact i came home from this holiday with Salmonella D i'd probably have given a higher rating. I wasn't the only person who took ill at this hotel. I've been home for a week & i'm still on medication. Please don't stay at this hotel.

Rooms are excellent,plenty of space and c leaned 6 out of 7 days.
Pools fantastic and not over crowded for peak times.
Weather hot but cool breeze every day which makes it a bearable climate.
The only down side was the food, although edible there was not a lot of variety. The same every day so after a few days got fed up, other wise i would have given this hotel 10/10.
My husband loved the pool bar especially 'Petros' as he would serve drinks out of propper glasses and not the normal plastic ones handed out.
Kids loved entertainment in evening with party dancies.
Shops, bars and restaurants within a few yards of hotel but not rowdy.
Overall a good ,relaxing family hotel.
Pools fantastic and not over crowded for peak times.

Great Holiday, Don't worry about negative reports, Some people just want to moan. We holiday every year and this hotel compares well with most.
Food from all inclusive was good and lots of choice. I agree no Oriental food in sight at the oriental night but apart from this i think was ok. What they do not tell you when you arrive it that if you ask at rception you can book a table at one of the Forums 4 restaurants the food is free if you are all inclusive but you just pay for the drinks. Great if you are like us and prefer waiter service.
Beach is very pebbley but you can buy beach shoes at any shop.
The entertainment is very amatuer but fantastic when you get to know the staff. "BAlU" made my childrens holiday, very funny friendly man who trys to include all the children in all the activities. Drinks on tap all day from 10am until 11.30pm.
One of the only hotels that i have been to that stand by the rule do not reserve sun beds a friendly man named George will remove all towels with noone on them before lunch. On arrival we were told our apartment was not ready for another 3 days (which turned into 10) and we were sent to the Forum Hotel. Only we were not put up in there either, but in apartments across the road from it. These apartments were about 400 yards from the Forum Beach. There was no sea or pool view like we booked for, in fact our view was of a hedge, there was nowhere to put our clothes away so we lived out of our suitcases.
We were supposed to be all inclusive but had numerous problems at the Forum Hotel as it is mainly half board. Several times we tried to get snacks at the pool bar and were asked to pay. After 10 days we had a leak in the roof of our apartment and got a new place in the Forum Beach. So our last 4 days was good, the apartment was modern and clean, the pools were okay, the food was okay, there were many young families. The beach is very pebbly and strong winds cause rough seas, and not suitable for kids, but is popular with windsurfers.
The entertainment at the Forum Beach is poor and repetitive, I would recommend going out into the town in the evening. There are arcades and games for kids, but most of them don't work. There's a couple of nice cocktail bars not far from the hotel. If you haven't already booked it I would recommend you don't.

Just returned from two weeks at the Forum Beach and can honestly say we had a fantastic time.
I have three daughters ( 17, 14, 11 ) and they had no complaints at all.
Staff were all friendly, helpful and polite. The food was great. The facilities were great. The location was great.
The only downside is that we had to listen to a few of our countrymen moaning about the standard of the chips in the restaurant and the fact that the power went off for a short time after an earthquake. These people should surrender their passports upon returning to the UK as they should not be allowed to travel abroad.
I would recommend Forum Beach to anyone with a family and am confident they would enjoy it as much as we did.
Don't forget to try Naftillo's restaurant across the road ( food free just pay for drinks )

DONT GO..well what can i say or where to start ...well start with what you pay for food and drink... awful to say the least unless you can stomach chips and chocolate spread for breakfast (most tasty things there)..drinks well the wine burns your throat and the the spirits replacate petrol. the juices and beer are fine though...the cups dont get washed properly though the kids in the pool have a good time trying..entertainment...like watching the same 6 children try different clothes on every night...(cant this place afford acts) great with the kiddies for 45 mins same thing everynight though. Beware paying for pool view as extra price with tour operators as the hotel charges the same as they say all rooms no different. The hotel has its own beach urghh dont bother. If your relying on water sports try getting them to do them with you something about they dont have a licence...broken sunbed yes my daughter fell off one...and seen lots more...they seem a different epidemic of mosquito for some reason here...a woman was taken to hospital and put on a drip...i myself was at the hospital and got antibiotics and cream... we had 3 mosquitos in the room we killed them kept the door and screen over tight..put towels under the door slept in the bed with pjs and socks and still got chewed....fleas i think was the culprit as i have had mossy bites before and never anything like this. hot water gets switched off just before dinner as everyone will use it then. i wonder why....stray dogs allowed onto complex ...could be dangerous who knows....cockroaches and the stench of drains was horrible.

fish night......great if you like fish in oils....but not if you dont like tentacle in tomato sauce

Some people only write reviews when they have had a bad holiday - we had a GREAT one.
Don’t believe everything you read about the Forum Beach – Yes, this is a popular hotel with the Germans.
The hotel is very clean and tidy. Everybody is really friendly especially the bar colleagues. Food very good, always hot and plenty of it but got a bit boring after two weeks.
Being close to the airport there was some noise but you forgot about them after a couple of days.
Entertainment colleagues were great they were brilliant with the children.
Don’t believe everything you read about the Forum Beach – Yes, this is a popular hotel with the Germans.
The hotel is very clean and tidy. Everybody is really friendly especially the bar colleagues. Food very good, always hot and plenty of it but got a bit boring after two weeks.
