This hotel had absoloutly nothing to do. There was nothing near the hotel appart from a few small returants. The beach was about a mile and a half away (which is not what they told us) It takes about 10-20 minutes to get into Marbella by Taxi, and they did not supply us... more

The hotel is, as many have said you get what you pay for! The cleaners are theives, there was a couple at reception on day 2 of our holiday who had, had money and passports stolen although room not broken into! Only one conclusion! I had also stupidly now, left 60 euros in... more

This hotel is in the middle of no where. The rooms were clean and cool after we were moved to a room with air con. The resort maybe up and coming , but its come to a stand still, there is nothing of interest to do or see. You will need to hire a car if you wish to see... more

After reading some of the comments left on here we were pretty anxious on arrival! However the hotel really is not that bad. It may not be spotless but is clean enough. we did not try the food but there are plenty of nice places near by. Grounds were nice, pool ok Staff as... more

We just came from this hotel, where we stayed with our friends for a couple of weeks, and first of all we need to inform everybody about the thefts in this hotel! We and our friends were both stolen staying in different rooms! Moreover, as we understood it is very common... more

We arrived at Las Chapas' reception to find a honeymooner making a complaint! He turned to me and my daughter and said "don't sign in to this hotel, it's a hell hole!". Great start! The food was awful, it looked the same every day and everyone hated it apart from the... more

Great Hotel!
I booked with Last Minute.Com. I went with a friend for a girlie weekend. we read the reviews and went with an open mind. I have been going to the Costa Del Sol for over 15 years and have stayed everywhere along the coast from 5* hotels to apartments from Peurto Banus to Riviera. This time we went so bothered we wanted to get away for a few days without husbands and children! we found it to be well placed for Marbella 1 euro 22 on the bus! and 16 euros in a taxi. Elviria 2 min walk with the bars that it has to offer. Don Carlos and... more
Closed!!!
Me and my boyfriend (age 20) booked to stay in this hotel on Tuesday 2nd October - Tuesday 9th October 07. When we arrived at the airport we got our bus to our hotel and it dropped us off at the front doors. First impression wasnt good. Was on the middle of a carriage way with what looked liked hardly anything near it to walk to. There was a big hole in the ground beside the doors to the hotel it looked like there used to be a swimming pool there but was took out and was over grown with weeds! It looked nothen like the pictures that i had... more
Ok for a few days in the sun...
Stayed at Las Chapas with a friend (both of us girls, aged 26) for 4 nights. We booked last minute and just wanted a bit of sun and a cheap break away. It was fine for 4/5 days, but I wouldn't recommend it for longer than that. We didnt have very high expectations before we arrived and when we got there we thought the hotel was actually really nice - nice grounds, the room was clean and average size, the pool was ok with plenty of sunbeds (although the most uncomfortable sunbeds ever!!) although it was quite shady with all the trees.... more
It was okay
my first impressions of the hotel was that it was very old fashioned and that was just from the decor. As soon as you leave reception theres a sign up that says Las chapas palico del sol won second place in the whole of marbella for the gardens, in 1974. Which is probley when the hotel was at its peak. Our room was round at the more modern side of the hotel, it was very odd as it appeared to have a reception even though it was just rooms, looked like another hotel. The rooms were fine, the beds were comfortable, and changed... more
DO NOT GO!
When we arrived at the hotel we went to our room (which had not been properly cleaned i.e. bottle top under bed, hairs in bathroom!), our balcony looked out onto the motorway and the toilet made a very strange noise when flushed. When chatting to others we realised that we must not be in the modernized rooms (i.e refuse a room at the front of the hotel). The hotel food was vile on the first night the food consisted of chewy meat and potatoes swimming in oil. On our five day trip we only ate there twice, as on both occassions we felt slightly... more
Not what we expected...
We booked our trip rather late, and given the weather in the UK, just wanted to go somewhere hot and sunny. Our expectations of this hotel were not high, but we were pleasantly surprised! OK, if you want Blackpool-in-the-Med this hotel is not for you, but if you want a quiet, relaxing holiday then give it a try. Our 7 year old daughter had a great time, making friends with Danish, German, Spanish and British kids and that meant that we had a good holiday too. The food is not great I must admit, but the local restaurants are very... more
What ya moaning about
After reading the reviews on this hotel i went on holiday with a open mind. i have just come back from having a 2 week holiday here and it was good kids club was great as i took my 12 year old son and he enjoyed it. Main reason i think was that we saw alot of footballers down there. Food was good and the location is great i really dont know what people are moaning about
Very Poor - Be warned
Stayed here on an all inclusive for a week, food was terrible only eat there once but still went there to see if it got any better, which it didnt, bar service was deadfull only 1 member of staff and inclusive finished at 11pm, To many trees so you cant get hardly any sun and it was on the side of the motorway and cost 20 euros to p. banus :-(
honeymoon from hell
OH MY GOD what a poor excuse for a hotel, dont really no where to begin. Do not belive any thing that the information on the holiday web sites tell you about this place, it is a load of rubbish. for a start they tell you its marbella, yes about 20mins up the road on the bus. They don't tell you that the place is at the side of what i can only describe as a slip road off the motorway, and that every time you leave your putting yourself at risk , i am not lying this is worst place i have every stayed in. they don't tell you that the hotel is... more
Not a single problem
Booked to stay a night at this hotel while on a driving holiday in Spain before reading any reviews. I feared the worst, but encountered not a single problem, although I was too timid after reading the remarks here to sample the food. Our sixth floor room was spotless with comfortable beds and the bathroom was also clean. Didn't have much contact with the staff but the receptionists were very polite and spoke good English. Although next to the motorway our room (with a spacious balcony) was totally quiet and had a view over the pine... more
