Las Chapas Hotel, Marbella
The Las Chapas hotel is in an ideal position on the Costa Del Sol. It is 10km from the centre of Marbella with its cosmopolitan atmosphere and marina, and just 800m to the nearest beach. The area is ideal for all the family as there are plenty of bars, restaurants, shops and sports activities. It is especially popular with golf lovers with many excellent courses

This hotel had absoloutly nothing to do. There was nothing near the hotel appart from a few small returants. The beach was about a mile and a half away (which is not what they told us) It takes about 10-20 minutes to get into Marbella by Taxi, and they did not supply us with Airport transfers which cost us 70€ each way. Also the only thing in Marbella was expensive returants and small shops. I did not enjoy this holiday and unless you are wanting to go somewhere and sit by the pool your whole holiday and sleep for about 16 hours because there is nothing to do then this is not the place for you.

The hotel is, as many have said you get what you pay for! The cleaners are theives, there was a couple at reception on day 2 of our holiday who had, had money and passports stolen although room not broken into! Only one conclusion! I had also stupidly now, left 60 euros in my case for our return journey to the airport, but when i came to get it on the last day, it had gone they had neatly fastened the bow back on the pocket which it was in, so i was none the wiser, very sneaky! So DO NOT leave anything in your room! The rest was ok, apart from being on a motorway in the middle of knowhere, the beach is ok, but you will have to travel anywhere else quite a way, we used the buses though which are cheap and get you wherever you want, unless they are on strike, which they were for 2 days of our holiday. Only one pool as well which i am sure i saw 2 when i booked it and so did many others there believe there was 2! Entertainment ok and great bar round the corner called fluid...Hi to everyone there!
Well where do i start with this...

Well where do i start with this place....you get what you pay for!! My partner and i booked this holiday last minute, and what a shocker!!!
If you are booked into this hotel expect to be ignored and bored.
I have worked in many hotels, and travelled quite extensively and the staff here were the most ignorant, unresponsive, unorganised and rude that i have ever witnessed.
From the minute we checked in, the front desk staff grunted at us! Getting a drink in the pool bar was never met with a smile, it seemed like it was all hard work!
The food in the restaurant was pretty bad, as usual with most European package holidays the food was catering for the German tourist. I dont have a problem with this, but most of the food was too salty or undercooked, with no variety. The milk at breakfast was warm. We ate there maybe 3 times the whole stay. Luckily just a short walk away to the right of the hotel are 2 entertainment complexes. With many restaurants and bars to choose from. There are no guides to help you fill your days with activities. The entertainment at night was forgetfull.
The main reason for this review is to warn potential guests....On the Friday before our Sat dep, my partener and i went out for dinner and a few drinks locally. When we returned at 12am, i noticed when we entered our room that it had been robbed! My lugguge, draws and wardrobe had been searched. They only took my mobile phone. As we had packed for our departure, all of our personal belongings were in our suitcases. It was the only time on the whole holiday that i didnt take my phone or passports with me! For some reason luckily for us they didnt take them. We went to reception to complain, and to call the police. They just looked at us like we were idiots.I had to explain the situation i dont know how many times, it was very frustrating to say the least. We asked to be changed to another room, we were given the key, we made our way up to the 4th floor with our luggage, and low and behold it was another guests room!!! They werent in there thank god! So we made our way back to reception, this time very angry. They told us we were lying, and that the room was empty. We were then given another key to another room on the 4th floor....needless to say we had about 3hrs sleep before we has to make our way to the bus station.
We feel that it was someone in the hotel that had access to our room. The keys for all rooms and guests passports are all held behind the desk in pigeon holes, anyone could reach over and take them. The security is non existent.
The one positive from the hotel...the grounds are lovely and our room was cleaned daily.
This hotel is in the middle of...

This hotel is in the middle of no where. The rooms were clean and cool after we were moved to a room with air con. The resort maybe up and coming , but its come to a stand still, there is nothing of interest to do or see. You will need to hire a car if you wish to see anything.
It has a lovley motorway for you to listen to at night , and the hotel is situated on the wrong side of it!! The hotel has no evening entertainment to speak of. I think its a hotel mainly for the spanish to get away from the tourists. There are a few local bars around the corner , where the food is not as bad as the hotel food. There are buses to marbella and other locations if you can stand that long. 10 kilometers may not sound that far but its quite away in a hot bus. If you cant drive , the only consilation is to sing your sorrows away at the local karaoke bar. If you just want a quiet holiday with nothing to do or see and just sit by the pool all day reading a book, and spend the evenings eating drinking and smoking yourself to death, then this is the place for you.
After reading some of the...

After reading some of the comments left on here we were pretty anxious on arrival! However the hotel really is not that bad. It may not be spotless but is clean enough. we did not try the food but there are plenty of nice places near by.
Grounds were nice, pool ok
Staff as a rule were nice and spoke enough English to help with basics - it is a mainky spainsh and german destination from what we could see.
The only big problem was having no air conditioning - we had are 1 year old son with us and he struggled with the heat at night time. There were also no fly screens/nets available so you either sweated with doors closed or were eaten all night by mosquitos if the door was open!
The beach was downa steep hill over the fly over but there are foot paths and we felt safe.
You DONT need a car there ar buses to Marbella ant to another town - i forget the name - in the other direction. Marbella town is lovely we went there most days. Be warned even at a just a year old are son was charged half fare on buses so it will add up with a big brood.
Overall we got what we paid for - very little - but by no means was it the hell hole some have described.
We just came from this hotel,...

We just came from this hotel, where we stayed with our friends for a couple of weeks, and first of all we need to inform everybody about the thefts in this hotel!
We and our friends were both stolen staying in different rooms! Moreover, as we understood it is very common there! One of tourist was stolen even in hotel restaurant! Although managers were “surprised” and just say sorry and a few minutes later even started laugh! All our things in rooms were “hustled”; security locks of our suitcases were broken; money and things were disappeared, while we were out of rooms.
There is no any security system in the hotel; anybody can come to the territory!
The stuff are presented by very very low qualified emigrants and partly Spanish, who doesn’t speak English at all and most probably low paid, what is for sure favorable for the hotel management!
We pay quite high price for staying in Las Chapas – for dirty old fashioned small rooms, for the flies around the pool, for awful food, which good just may be for shelter for homelessness.
We need to mention about nice territory with pines, but it is the plus of the region and nature, but not of hotel, location is bad – highway with its noise is very close to hotel!
Hotel doesn’t care about its quality, its stuff, its services, its reputation and its clients!
We arrived at Las Chapas'...

We arrived at Las Chapas' reception to find a honeymooner making a complaint! He turned to me and my daughter and said "don't sign in to this hotel, it's a hell hole!". Great start!
The food was awful, it looked the same every day and everyone hated it apart from the Germans. The Chinese round the corner is lovely but a bit pricey (especially as we were all inclusive at the hotel).
The staff were ok apart from the receptionist, she was annoying and really couldn't speak English.
The grounds are beautiful, they are worked on all day! Watering, pruning etc.
The swimming pool is small but nice, the surrounding trees make it shady in places all day. so you're forever moving your sun bed about!
The evening entertainment is either a man playing a guitar badly or a parrot show and that really was it!
I think that the worst thing was that the hotel is on the 'motorway'. So all you can hear all day is fast cars and lorries.
Nice holiday but only because i met some nice people.
