We are just back from 2 weeks, staying in the zvete. on the whole most enjoyable, the food was good and fairly varied, the diebetic counter offered plain chicken most days and on other days plain meat and veg, at breakfast low salt, low sugar & low fat marg and jam, however there were no diet drinks, so for myself as a diebetic it was water or coffee and the coffee machine was only on at breakfast!!!
With regards to just eating/ drinking/ swimming in your hotel, if you adopt our attitude and do as you want you shouldn't come up with any problems. We ate in Rodopi and drank in Flora park and never once got 'chucked out'.
A friend we met had to use the Doctors facility which we didn't realise were situated in the Flora Park, she was pleased with service received.
Alot of the entertainment was in german so enjoyed the actions couldn't understand punchlines!!!
would definately go back.

Just returned following a 2 week holiday with my mother and two 6 yr old children. Hotel very clean, rooms cleaned daily and quiet large. Hotel very central to all amenatities, catering for all ages, shops bars and resturants.
Food not that inviting but always something to eat, catered more for the continenal tastes. Food not availabe at any time only breakfast lunch and dinner, nothing after that. Cakes and biscuits in afternoon very nice in deed.
Entertainment very good, shows ever night, only 2 nights out of our 14 was it totally directed at the Germans as not spoken at all in English. Childrens entertainment and club wasnt welcoming for the English children as all spoken in German.
Overall complex very nice, waterslides were very enjoyable, had a job grtting my children off them. Football every night for the young boys, from all over that brought the children together.
Overall a lovely holiday central to everything. Enjoyable for all ages. Would def go back.

i have just come back from bulgaria last week, we stayed in the zevte hotel which was a very nice and clean looking hotel, the rooms was fantastic very big with a decent sized balcony. the rooms was cleaned every day. the food was nice on the first day but towards the end of the week we was fed up with eating the same thing the food was very continental and basic and more or less the same thing was put out every day. we thought the brocher was very misleading because it says that you can get snacks all day, u carnt it is put out for two hours at dinner. also it states in the brocher that there is 3 hotels flora, zevte, rodolpi which are clased as one and you can use any of the facilitys in all 3 of the hotels when we got there we went to the bar in the flora hotel and the barman refused to serve us because we was stayin in zevte and had to use the bar in zevte we was not allowed in the other hotels resturante and we couldnt use there swimming pools, so the brocher was making out all three hotels are clased as one but there not. as an english family we didnt feel like we fit in or was made to feel as welcome as other nationalitys. the hotel was very german orientated the food, most of the kids enertainment was in german. we didnt think the staff was very freindly they didnt smile or make conversation they could speck very little english and we sometimes had great difficultiy getting them to undertand us. overall i would say nice complex couldnt fault the pool area or the way the hotel is very nicely kept but i would say the hotel is deffantly not for an english family.
the town aera was very nice as i am only 18 i loved the fact it was very livley lots of bars and clubs only beware u have to pay to go to the toiltet in most bars, i would deffantly say it was more aimed at younger people its like blackpool with sun.
or a modern versoin of benidorm. i would deffently recomending goin down to nessiebar its a lovely quite place with lots of ruins to see theres also lots of shops ands its only 50p on the bus.
overall i had a good holiday i would go back but with freinds not family.

We stayed at the Hotel Zvete, the rooms were clean and towels changed every day. There were more than enough sun beds to go round. Even though the weather was hot for most of our stay (overcast for 2 days) the pool was freezing and even when the temperature was soaring the pool was almost too cold to stay in too long and your teeth would be chattering! When we asked about the water slides we were told we had to buy tokens at reception which our children were disappointed with and then our last day there were loads of German children playing on it and when we asked the Manageress she just shrugged, so I don't know what the rules are for this!
The food was lovely and varied every day which was nice. The location was brilliant and 2 mins walk to the beach which was sandy and shops along the front were great to browse! Loads of cheap designer (well!!) bags, purses etc!
The main problem with the whole hotel complex is as an English family we were like outcasts, the whole place is centred towards the Germans, the entertainment is in German, the signs are in German, the food is German, all the staff speak German at all times. We were very isolated and the children became a bit bored as we never knew when the activities were due to happen times etc and when we did turn up they didn't understand as it was all in German! Luckily we met a Belgium couple who translated for us, but we met her on the last day!
We didn't see our rep once all the time we were there and when we tried to venture out for the day we got completely lost but a taxi driver escorted us around like royalty and even dropped us off at a market and then a town and waited 2 hours till we came back and we paid him once we were back at the hotel!
The holiday was good and the amenities are great but I would make sure you know at least some German before you stay there and then you may have some idea of what is going on!!

The hotel is very big and clean the rooms are big with a carpet floor. The pools and water slides were very entertaining for children and adults.
The food was average but more to a German taste this because the hotel was German than English.
The entertainment was not up to scratch on a night but at day it was fine.
But overall a very good holiday. I would recommend Bulgaria to many people.

HI although it is over three years since we visited this hotel as guests. It is just six months since we visited as friends, the manageress of the Rodopi has been a friend since 1989 when we met her as a receptionist in another hotel (continental). Since then she has been assistant manageress in the Baikal, and now has been in charge of the Rodopi for about four years.
The owner/operator of the hotel is also a very friendly person and has named the Svete (flower) after his daughter who died at a young age.
The staff as a whole are very good and helpful, since we stayed there the hotel is now all/inclusive but still offers excellent value for money. Well worth a visit remember to say hello to zlatina the manageress.

worst holiday of our lives.6 adults all in need of a relaxing break. this hotel is all german orientated. dont see or hear many english people. staff all very rude and uncaring.we booked flora but got put into zvete.(we were not the only ones). their is a big difference. you cannot use the facilities of all three even though they tell you that you can.the zvete pool area is unbearably noisy, loud music and childish games, all in german.no good to have a dose or read a book..after much complaining we did get to see assistant manager, nelly stakova who issued us with written passes to use flora facilities .we accepted as this seamed reasonable.problem is you need passes for everything you try to do,get drink from pool bar(who carries paperwork in swimwear) eat in restaraunt, bar etc.also other guests as well as pool attendents constantly point to wrong colour armband making you feel very uncomfortable. not what iwould call a relaxing time. six days into holiday two of us developed severe vomiting and diarrhoea and had to call doctor.needed hospital treatment for rest of 2 weak hol.on bread and water only.we all spent the second weak counting the hours to go home.hygene in restaraunt generally very poor.we saw same tongs used to serve cooked chicken and turn raw chicken.all china chipped and not very clean.we did not rate this as a four star hotel. we have travelled extensively worldwide.will never go back to bulgaria.
