We went to gumbet this year instead of marmaris and found the jasmin very nice. Arriving late afternoon we were shown to our appartment with our luggage, on first impression it was clean and tidy, the maids came in daily and nothing was too much trouble. the staff on the complex on the whole were very nice, the waiters made an effort to chat and again nothing was too much trouble. the bar staff we found were a bit loud, the bingo well very entertaining considering the turks cant pronounce some of our numbers lol though expensive to play 1 game, the entertainment on the whole was ok ther shows tended to be the same people travelling round the complex's but worth the 'big claps' as the turkls say oh and everything is 'cheap as chips' lol the food in the jasmin is very expensive and not vey nice (prawn toast consisted of fish paste spread on cold toast) yuk!!. walk along the path on the front there's some fantastic places to eat, the red dragon in bar street i would defo recommend and tempo's not only for good food but exchange rate if you have trav cheques. beware of the rose sellers they are a pain in the !!!!! just be firm and say no (A tip they hassle the people with paler skin more as they know you've just arrived).
The holiday rep my travel had Hazel was fantastic, that lady was a true gem for us, seen on site every day (apart from her day off) and made a concious effort to speak to all her customers, we are going again june 2008 and i truely hope she has managed to stay another year. well what more can i say except see you all hopefully june 2008.

what can i say about this holiday it was brilliant, me and my friend went back in 2005 we were both 18 . i've been to places like mexico and dominican republic but turkey is right up there with them fantastic holiday.
the hotel was very clean although the rooms were basic, but you arent going to want to spend time watching tv anyway.
the barmen were amazing when we were there me and my friend spent a couple of nights around the pool getting drunk with the barmen. the pool is quite big and clean (freezing though, not too bad when u get in) we didn't eat at the hotel we eat most nights at the WINDY BAY 5* for this place the food is amazing and great service too. we did eat at the red dragon too which was good aswell good service.
the beach in bodrum is ok but a bit shingly. i recomend you take up one of the boat trips to camel island and various places make sure u get a good spot on the roof of the boat for sunbathing. drinks and lunch are included which was good.
one downfall about turkey is the market sellers can hassle you a little bit but when you say no they back off so its not too bad. it was quite cheep when we went not too sure about now.
i would recommend turkey to anyone its a great place.

well,,,
jasmin beach apartments was the best holiday me and my friend danielle have ever been on..
dont listen to anything all the other comments say about this hotel being rubbish, its clean, fun, lots to do, bar staff friendly and helpful apart from one man that worked in the sports bar who was very rude do not let your kids near the man with curly long hair he is the only bad part of this holiday.
the beach was not brilliant, but the pool made up for it.
food exallent
everything was great
we are both 15 years old and both us and my mum and dad really ejoyed this holiday.
we are going back to turkey again this year, but unfortunatly not to jasmin, alothough will be returning when we are 18.
the nightlife in gumbet (bar street) is great only went up onces with two of the waiters and it was the best night of the holiday.
there is a turkish night every thursday which is very entertaining great food.
they also play bingo and when big brother is on they play the eviction nights on the big screen.
music in the hotel is DEFONATLY! not to loud at night, they stop the music when the bar is empty it is the hotels around jasmin.
please do not read other reviews as this is the truth !!!
thanks for reading

Myself and best mate got engaged to our wives the day before we went and had heard that Jasmin was a nice place to go. We got there early in the morning and the place looked ok. The next day we went down to the bottom bar for breakfast which was ok. Stayed by the pool all day, then at night went to the Columbia bar for tea that was brilliant food and staff were polite. Had a very good weeks holiday and going back next May for our honeymoon.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Jasmin Beach Apartments last year. This was our 2nd visit as we had previously stayed there 2 years before that on holiday. The level of service we received was excellent. The rooms weren't exactly the Hilton but you had all you need for a self catering holiday. I would highly recommend paying the money for the air conditioning as you won't get a good nights sleep without it! A little tip though, when you leave the room, the key to your room key is attached to the plastic fob for the air conditioning unit, so take the fob off the keyring and leave it in the slot so that the air con stays on when you are not in the room : )
We spent most of our days by the pool which if you are up early enough, you will find a space to lie in the sun all day. We didn't eat much in the bars at the Jasmin as we chose to venture out every night (wise decision) as the food isn't the greatest. The best place we found for eating is called the WINDY BAY, it's along the front and is only a 5 minute walk (or a 15 minute stumble back) highly recommend the steak, best I've tasted (there's also a Burger King only 10 minutes away for a quick bite to eat).
I had read a few reviews of people complaining about room cleanliness or noise from the bar, I can't seem to see where those comments came from. I'm very fussy about where I stay or go on holiday and was very sceptical about going to Turkey but I have told all my friends about it. I also found out that the Turkish are a lot friendlier towards the Scottish people (like myself).

This holiday was great, would recommend to young families, familes with teenagers and anyone who is up for a great laugh. Nice food, lovely staff, three decent pools not forgetting the turkish bath and the hairdressers on site.
Before I came to Turkey I was worried about going because of all the bad comments but I never found nothing wrong with the hotel/staff/food etc . The maids were really great, the rooms were very clean and on the last day the maid left all roses and flowers on the bed and a little note saying "hope you enjoyed you stay".
Really recommend the boat trips be careful who you book with though, also the water park is good fun too.
I hoped this has helped you.

We visited this resort and stayed in the same apartments earlier in 2007 and had an absolutely fantastic time which is why we booked to go back in July. What a big mistake!
The apartments themselves were nowhere near as clean as they had been in May and as for the service from the staff, well I really don't think this review would be posted if I really wrote what I thought.
Basically if you didn't want to spend your money in the complex then they didn't want to know and on many an occasion were downright bloody rude.
The food gave my husband food poisoning and we also met more than a handful of people who had suffered the same after eating on the complex.
Gumbet in general is a lovely resort but the hostility of certain locals leaves a lot to be desired. I can appreciate they have to earn a living but there are ways and means.
We are returning to Turkey next year but definitely not The Jasmin Beach.

This hotel was really nice. Rooms clean. Lovely view from our balcony over the gardens.
Daughter loved the FC run kids club.
Easy access into town - walking distance.
The only thing I can say is that it is a little noisy. We had a room further back from the entertainment - but then we got the noise from the hotel next door. I took ear plugs so it was not so bad - and if you are getting back late then it’s not such a problem.

We have not long been back from a lovely holiday at the Jasmin. The rooms were basic but were very clean and it made a nice change NOT to have a tv lol, the kids didn't think so though!
We had a room next to the main pool but after 3 days of no sleep because of the loud music I asked to be changed at the reception and they were brilliant, we was given a room in the top block on the 2nd floor, so we decided to start using the top pool and bar and that's where we met some great people, and of course Bob the barman, this made our holiday.
We went into Gumbet every evening for our meals but I think it was expensive, most evenings cost us about 60 - 80 TYL, just for our meals (that being our main meal of the day!).
Please please be careful when booking a boat trip, we booked ours on the 2nd day of being there and we booked it through Sandy's which is just outside the Jasmin. We only paid £25 for the trip but was told that she personally (Sandy) owned the boats and that safety netting was on all of her boats and that we would only need a couple of TYL on the day for a few tips, but they were not her boats and there was no safety netting. On the boat we have 6 cans of Tango and a Barcardi and coke and a beer and it cost 100 TYL which is way too much! We was also told that we would be going to a mud bath well.... this mud bath was a lump of mud on a block about 1 metre in height and 1/2 metre wide! You had to pay to go into the natural spring and see inside the caves and also had to pay to have a go on the camels which you was on for 2 minutes and that's being honest! All in all that day cost us 250 TYL.... so please shop around and don't book through Sandy's.
Apart from that lol everything else was great. The staff were very helpful and my husband had a shave at the barbers twice and he loved it.
The Turkish baths were heavenly.

The best way to evaluate this hotel is pros and cons:
PROS
1. Weather good for October- got a great tan
And that is about it.
I and my partner are both in our late 20’s and will never visit Turkey after the Jasmin experience
CONS: (There are numerous)
1. If you are a young group of girls or if you have a daughter DO NOT go.
2. You never get your change at the bar so DO NOT buy drinks from the bar plus you also avoid the leery eyes of the waiters.
3. The music is awful and loud. It is on continuous from 10 am till at least 2 or 3 am. We were at the back of the complex but could still hear it. There were 2 young girls in the early 20's by the side of the pool bar and they said that they had barely slept and could not wait to get out of there. Ask for a room at back called Narcissus and you may have a chance of sleeping
4. The apartments were basic but with a hob that doesn’t work it can hardly be called self catering. Also the bathroom was awful and flooded every time you have a shower and there is a disgusting bathroom mat that appears to soak all of this up and it is foul.
5. The food is disgusting, cold, and expensive. If you want a nice night out and don’t want to be looked at like at piece of meat by the entire male population in Turkey we suggest the Red Dragon for both breakfast (£1) and evening meals they have everything and the waiters and friendly and polite and do not appear to be treating you as if you are the nights possible conquest. Other places to eat are China Town and Columbia.
All we can say is the best part of the holiday was landing in Manchester (Bodrum airport is disgusting no toilet paper in the loos and the place should come with a health warning as there are small NO SMOKING areas rather than Smoking areas.
Also so everything is so expensive we spent £600 in a week on nothing.
We travel the world and for what we spent on this holiday for 1 week self catering we could have spent 2 weeks in Thailand and enjoyed every last minute of it.
Hope all this helps.
