I'm wondering if we all stayed in the same place! Rooms clean, bit basic, but come on it's hardly expensive! Bar and restaurant staff always friendly and grateful for any tips but not pushy, if we earned what they do I'm sure we would be too. Turkish baths on site good fun and staff helpful. We were in under ground level room, we were grateful for the shade! It was 40 degrees plus when we were there. Local restaurants good value for money, and we were treated more like guests than customers. All local people very friendly, would definitely recommend.

hi just got back from 2 weeks of torture ! we arrived midnight got shown a room oppoiste the main pool,we rejected this straight away, the noise from the bar was ear shattering & the smell was sewerage like! we were shown 2 other rooms both also on the ground floor, we feel this was to make the porters job easy, these were also unsuitable we went back again to reception who said they would sort in the morning! my wife did not sleep that night with all the noise from the speakers from our hotel & hotel next door.we went down to reception at 7 in the morning & got placed in room 532 narcuiss block it was a bit quieter between 2.30am till 8.30 no good if you came to relax! however if you wanted a sunbed you had to be an early riser 5am otherwise you would struggle to get one as some i presume put them on the night before.
if you thought you could use the hotel ones on the beach wanted 4 lira for each foam mattress even though you stayed their, we asked at reception & was told to be firmer with them & tell them you are not paying we tried it once didnt work! ( we thought better of it ) and could not be bothed with the hassle.
we ordered scrambled egg on toast for breakfast came with only 1 piece of toast ( ok if you are dieting ) later on in the day we just fancied some chips it took 45 to 50 mins for these to arrive ! they hang around for tips you can just sense it! if a tip is given a bell is rang.we found the whole of gumbet druming with the noise of music ok for 18 to 30s, forget familys and the elderly.
we found this our most expensive visit to turkey in 6 years of going to turkey! also the holiday from hell! if you wish to go dont say i didnt tell you. dont have nightmares! goodnight

Jun 2008, Mr D Goulding

Apartments were very nice but I always had a problem getting a drink at the bar. If I was a woman on my own I'd have had 3 bar men to myself. My advice is to stay away from Bonj and the boys there are much nicer bars near by.
Restaraunts are excellent in Gumbet especially the Golden Knife on the sea front I highly recommend the pepper steak its to die for.
The staff in the shops are not as pushy anymore they just accept if you dont want to buy something.
I had a really excellent Holiday but I wouldn't stay at Jasmin again because I really didn't like the Bar staff.

We have had six holidays in Gumbet...
3 / 10
Jun 2008, Mr RT Taft

We have had six holidays in Gumbet and up untill this one we have alway's found it a good base area for getting to places of interest.
After staying at this place !Jasmine Beach with Cellar view's to die for, veranda's that look at a crazy paved wall just above the jungle the appartment's you have to keep the light's on all day for daylight,a motor pump screeming in your ear's all night that services the swimming pool at the roof of the block.
That was our first room N726 we stayed in that one night i asked to be moved we were given one choice. N712 this was the basement with another wall to look at through the half dead banana tree's "they were dying from lack of light"as were we same thing light's on all day if you wanted to stay in and listen to the music reverberating from the pool bar on the roof or if you had ambidexterous ear's like one o those lizards who swivel their eye's you could listen to next door's HOTEL SIMBA crescendo of wailing turkish and tom tom's and if that was'nt enough to send you screeming mad then listen to the half baked idiot they put above us ROOM N722 who spent a fortune in the local shop on Foster's and consumed them through his almighty big gob which he used constantly to slag off his girlfriend from morning to next morning.
After three night's we had enough and we were given one more choice, I refused this one, another basement with jungle view and accepted another on the second floor we moved in and it was an improvement as far as view's go,we could now look upon the canopy of the jungle it appeared in a more likeable garden if you don't like SUNSHINE that is after all that's what we English crave.
So we settled in for a quiet day as we had not up untill then got to appreciate why we chose SELF CATERING.
Room N222 we got into this room at about 9 am and had unpacked yet again,it was 10.30 am when we finally sat down on the balcony and i noticed the roof pool bar's music had started, and you could hear the music at the front pool bar and then right in the middle of it this, a loudspeaker came from the back of us through the front door with it's 1 inch gap at bottom AT FULL VOLUME " GOOD MORNIN GOOD MORNIN da da da da good mornin to youuuu" The complete song. i don't know what came after
We went out and tried not to spend too much time at the JASMINE BEACH. But you have to return to your bed sooner or later to hear three or four different types of music all at once.
I have to say HOTEL SIMBA was the worst with all the usual " PIANO PIANNO and the rest at full volume or the tosser on the microphone screamin at the water volleyball player's.
All this went on till way after 1.00am most night's, i had to get up one night and i tried to keep the noise out by using a MATTRESS off the spare bed and towel's jammed in the big gap under the door i could still hear it through my earplug's in fact our ear's are chapped and sore from trying to stuff them too far in.
We are not anti anything i like to think we enjoy all aspect's of life "In Moderation" i like ALL music and will participate in all activitie's but this place has lot's of good review's and i believe it is from 6 to 20 year old's or real raver's who are giving them because people like ourselve's are not normal in this dayu and age of ?.
I would like to give this whole complex and include their neighbours a new award it is the ANNA Amplified Noise Nuisance Award.
We are too disgusted to give any other what would be favourable comment's at this time.
Or you may get a nice of a jungle

Me and my friend just came back on...

Jun 2008, Miss C Edwards

Me and my friend just came back on Sunday had a buzzing time there ,food was nice staff where friendly and rooms are clean, only thing i can say we were coming home after drinking in the bar the hotel dog was attacking i cat the turkish man on guard and two others turkish men were watching this and laughing. My friend and I shouted out that this was wrong another holiday maker heard us, grapped the cat, the cat scrached him later on the cat pasted away. The next day the man had to go to hospital for jabs. I think this is wrong because the staff could of stopped this. However i still go back.

not long back from yet another...

Jun 2008, Mr M Higginson

not long back from yet another fantastic holiday in turkey, my partner and myself have been 5 times now and not a bad word to say about the places we have visited over the yeas, jasmine beach is a fantatic holiday place to be in, the apartment we had was at the rear of the complex but was beutiful just by the middle pool of the three that are on offer, the staff can not do enough for you they are normaly on hand night and day, some times when it is full you have to be a bit patient with the service as all the food is cooked from fresh and not pre packed and it was all delish, the entertainment is a times a bit basic but if its your first time i would recomend the turkish night fantastic food and the show and all for £10 fantastic price, on site facilities are all there to be used, i would strongly recomend having a turkish bath at the start of yur holiday as this gets rid of all the dead skin and revitalises the body ready for a fantastic sun tan, not a lot els to report just that gumbet is a hiden gem for young and old [ night clubs and just a stroll along the beach front] the only thing i will warn you about is some of the staff at the resort will make freinds with you and introduce you to the night life but they only do this so they get free drinks from the club owners so if you do stay you can not miss bar street and you will enjoy yourselfes as much as we did. so dont wait book today

hello and welcome to my comments,...

Jun 2008, Mr B Green

hello and welcome to my comments, right lets get started, first off all get your tukish lira in the UK, i found the rate far better than in gumbet i got 2.49 TL to the pound, where as in gumbet it wa stuggling to reach 2.25 to the pound (about £6 per hundred) and also for the smokers.. get ure alcohol and cigarettes on the plane.. reasons later...
Right jasmin beach apartments was nice and clean, nothing special, bathroom bit mouldy but it was ok and we were self catering (we is me, girlfriend and 10year old lad). do not request an apartment by the pool unless you like being woken up at 9am and noise till 2am. The food there was errr well we ordered a breakfast.... we had egg and asked for it to be well done so once it was served... we requested a straw to eat the egg.. if it was any runnier and unercooked it would hve been a walking talking chicken so we didnt eat there to be on the safe side so i cant really comment on the evening meals. The bar staff are ok but dont see you if you dont tipp, dont serve you much unless ure a woman and they like show boatin and everytime they get a tip they ring a bell, first few 8 times was distracting.. the rest was annoying, makes you never want to tip them again. The beer is 4TL (turkish lira) about £2 and that seems to be the same price in all of gumbet and the hotel shop sells cans for 4TL same price. The vodka is about 7TL but dont bother ordering the smirnoff, bells or other recognised names which is where I get to the point about buying your stuff on the plane. Turkey has no copyright laws... which is a nice way of saying EVERYTHING is fake or couterfiet, these are things like clothes, bags, rugs, cigarettes and alcohol, cigarettes are... i dont know but i never want to try them again, and the vodka is.... yet to be discovered by specialists so just drink the local vodka, its safer and cheaper (also tip for you.. order a glass of coke with ice and a glass of vodka... they always put in loads of ice then add vodka then coke, basically you get small amount of vodka.. order it seperately and so get twice as much). food in gumbet wasnt as cheap as i thought so for a week having about 2 meals a day we spent about £200 for all three of us and passing a restuarant you will be hounded and begged to eat there... only so many times you can say "im fine but thankyou" then after about a hundred times it gets annoying and frustrating and then four letter words start coming out. also restuarants advertise HP sauce and hienz beans... bottles are always worn out like they reused and beans taste like errr my partners cooking.. terrible. T-shirts go for about £7, shirts £10 and trousers £10 but they want more and more... i resorted to saying " i give you 25TL (£10) for it" when they say no i walk away and there are some places that do 5 t-shirts for 25TL but remember they fake, they shrink, counterfiet products are illegal in UK and many countries for a reason something o do with woking conditions, crime etc. Did find a nice place called casablanca which is next to uncle festers, food was good and kids eat free unless ure single mother with 8 kids lol. I did enjoy my time in gumbet but beach is stoney and artificial and sharp and dirty and water sports high priced. Basically I went to turkey for cheap holiday but it cost me more than i expected, i enjoyed myself but i wont be ging to turkey again, first time was side near antalya and now gumbet, much rather go somewhere descent, spain i cheaper than turkey. I hope this helps ooh ooh while i remember... we went self catering... the stuff they sell like butter, sugar, salt, oil is sooooo overpriced (£4 for some butter) but there doesnt seem to be any visible shops that sold food for you to cook, ie if i wanted spaghetti bolognese no one sold any of the ingredients so i dont know if they get back handers of restuarants and i bought some suger for £3 and it was a catering box, nothing was small of the essentials and everything overprices for small amount. Well thats enough of my waffling on but please remember this is all my opinion and im sure many people love turkey and the people and the culture, i just found that the people who shake your hand and call you a friend stops when the money runs out of the wallet, i dont like buying friendships and i found the food and drink a lot cheaper in the UK. Thanks for reading this review and make sure when you go on holidays, keep safe, keep well and have a good time

Just back from the jasmin Beach Apartments with family and it must be said it is one of the best holidays I have had, yeah the music is loud and predictable but the staff are the most friendly bunch of people I have met . the rooms are clean and basic but hey your on holiday so basic isn't really a problem . The restuarants nearby to visit are the red dragon and windy bay where the food and service are first class, definately going back
