Our first trip to Tukey and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. There were 13 of us in our group and every one of us loved the Jasmine. On our arrival we were unhappy with our room which was dark and away from the rest of our group. The staff could not have been more helpful we were offered other rooms and when we chose one the young boy came and got our luggage and moved us in. The staff at Jasmine are absolutely wonderful and really made our holiday. They know your names within a day and stop for a chat and a giggle as they pass you.Volkan, Efkan, Efe, Sharky and Tarkan were amazing and did everything possible to make us welcome. We had two suprise guests for our children who came out on our second week and Sharky put himself out to help us with the surprise. The rooms are adequate, we had a one bedroom appartment which was clean but not that spacious. The maids are excellent we had clean towells every day and clean bed linning every other day. They make lovely designs from your bedding and leave rose petals over your beds. The food at Jasmine was not great and the Turkish night was a bit of a disaster food wise, but there are so many great restaraunts nearby you don't have to eat at Jasmine. The Jasmine is within easy walking distance to everything you need. The beach is literally over the road, albeit the beach itself is not up to much. 5 minute walk along the beach brings you to windy Bay where there are some great restaraunts. Windy Bay is an absolute must wonderful food and the service was the best we found in Gumbet (hi to Chris, Cuman and turkish John) Up the little sidestreet will bring you to the nighlife of gumbet. MOLLY MALONES IS A MUST !! We fell into this bar one evening and spent most of our holiday there. Maggie and Hussain the owners will give you a welcome second to none and if there is anything they can do to make your visit even better they will do so. Friendly warm welcome and terrific service - and the alcohol is great stuff unlike so many other bars in Gumbet. The boys who work in the bar are just brilliant, great dancing but more than anything they are hapy and friendly to everyone(Thank you Andy, Mustafa, Chek, Little Legs and Mehmet)children are more than welcome in this bar. DO NOT MISS MOLLY MALONE'S. The weather was wonderful all through the two weeks not hitting below 30 degrees. Completely changed my opinion of Turkey and will definately be going back. Jasmine Beach is a terrific place to stay and Gumbet itself has something for everyone. Enjoy

I had one of the best holidays ever at Jasmine Beach & can't wait to book up for next year! I went away with a friend & her 10 year old daughter who have been to JB twice before. Our apartment was massive and a little way from the pool bar so nice and quite. The staff were great fun and always made time to for a chat. Sharky, Valkon & Alex miss ya!! Little suggestion try the Pink Margarita's as they are the best! We also had a turkish bath which was heaven. The weather was lovely for the whole two weeks. We managed to ge a sun bed everyday & didn't get to the pool until 11ish. We had a few probems with air con & a faulty radio but they came out straight away to fix them. I found that everyone does all they can to make your holiday special. I would defo recommend Windy Bay & Dennys for a lovely meal. We also went along to the Turkish nite at JB twice as the food was so nice!
So if you fancy a fab holiday then book up now!! :-)

After much searching the net and reviews on accomodation etc, my wife and i finally booked the Jasmin Apartments for our weeks family holiday with my daughter 13yrs. We stayed at the end of July into August 09.
We booked through Thompsons and they were very good, there was a rep at Bodrum Airport to meet us and the coach transfer to Gumbert - Jasmin Beach Apartments was about 45 min. The coach was clean and airconditioned.
Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff on reception, we chose to opt and pay extra for aircon which was 70TKL (about £30) for the week. Given the temp was about 45 degrees, a good decision and very worth while. We chose self catering as we prefer to eat out on a night and not get tied into borning repetative and cheap all inclusive food provided by the hotel.
The apartmenet for 3 of us was two single beds and a sofa which converted to a bed. The beds wern't very comfy but we accepted this, the room was clean and included a kitchen and seperate bathroom. Oh a nice little balony too. There was no view from the room apart from the block opposite, but the gardens were nicely done and maintained in a tropical theme. Opposite the front door was the edge of the hotel and it backed onto a small b ut steep road going past the hotel.
Now the bad points, there was a very bad smell of sewerage eminating into the room when ever we left it closed and went out. It would clear when we aired the apartment but we could never figure out where it came from as it was outside as well. The noise from the road up the side of the hotel was terrible through the night with large trucks struggle up in low gear making a terrible noise. We think they were sewerage trucks hence the smell!!!
There were 3 pools in the hotel and you could never get a sunbed unless up at the crack of dawn. People left their towels on the beds overnight and staff did nothing about it despite there being signs up to stop this practise. So I removed a few towels when we wanted to sit by the pool much the the horror of some individuals returning at 1130 to sunbath....made me chuckle though.
Tried the food from the bar for lunch one day - yuk. Didnt bother again. The hotel shop is very expensive so if you fancy a walk, go into Gumbet and stock up on water, drinks etc as its much cheaper and only a 15 min walk.
The Hotel is actually across the road from the beach and the beach is not the hotels, but a public beach with deck chairs for everyone to use, bot just hotel guests. The noise on a night from the bar was terrible and went on to the early hours..boom boom boom. I really pity those guests who had rooms near the main bar as ours was quite far away and it was still bad. I think all the hotels compete to see who can play the loudest music.
There are also some safety boxes in the reception for your valuables etc, but they didnt install a lot of confidence in me keeping my money there. Whilst I was there someone lost their keys and reported it to reception, who promptly opened the safety box up...mmmmm dont think so.
There is a kids club at the hotel but it wasnt well advertised and my daughter wasnt interested either.
Beware...if your flight leaves after 12pm on your last day (our pick up was 11pm that night), if you dont check out by midday, they switch your electricity and water off. We thought we would have had the room till we left, aparently not so. I had to pay extra to stay in the room till 7pm or more if I wanted to stay till 11pm. I think they would like to charge you for all the little extras if they could.
Would we stay there again - NO. Its a noisy typical package holiday resort with hundreds and hundres of guests, we were looking for a relaxing holiday. If you want noise and entertainment 24/7 then thats your choise.
Bar staff were also rude when you didnt leave a tip.
Gumbet itself is clean and all the locals try and keep it clean. They even wash the cobbled pavements to get rid of the dust. We ate at Tempo Bar and the food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and accomodated us, be sure to negotiate your free bottle of wine with your meal as we did everynight. Cost us about 60TKL for our combined meals on a night.
Turkish bath at hotel is a bit of a rip off, so is anything you book through the tour operator. Turkish bath in Gumbet was about £20 for the wife and me together and at the hotel was £45 for same thing. Boats trips around the local bays are lovely, book through the sellers on the beach, same trip, same boats but half price - about £12 each for a full day.
Thats about it, make some good decisions.....!

We have just come back from Jasmin Beach.2 Adults and 3 children 15yrs 6yrs and 5yrs. I was very worried about the reviews I had read especially about the pool,so before we went i bought ear plugs for the children - I am glad i did as i saw alot of children with cotton wool in their ears.Beach Ok not great. There are dogs but not alot.
Jasmin Beach was OK. The Turkish people are lovely and friendly. Our accomodation was in NBlock(Narcuiss). Both rooms dated in decor but kept very clean by our cleaner. Unfortunately one of the room smelt strongly of smoke,so my husband and eldest child went in that one. If you want a quiet holiday this may not be the one for you as the Calispo next door plays music very load music.
The main pool is dirty and there is a problem with the filter as staff has told us,even though Thomson say it has high useage,no excuse as we visited other pools just as busy and they were clean.
The second week we spent at next door The Tropicana. This is a beautiful resort which is smaller,Pools are spotless were you can see your feet,it is quieter and generally higher quality. I visited the rooms and they were very clean and modern.Go here instead.

I recently stayed at Jasmin Beach and had a great time. There was 9 of us all together in our party, we all had seperate rooms which were clean and the cleaners did an excellent job throughout the 2 weeks. We used the main pool and bar and used the small bar (cafe moods) a few times. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was beautiful, the scenery was gorgeous and the weather was hot!! I would definatly consider coming here again.

this was a great holiday ideal for family's close to the beach with lots of great near by resturents lots of places and things to do during the holiday such as boat trips and the beach.the apartment was spaciouse and the kitchen was the biggest i have ever had in an apartment.there are three lovely pools and my faviourt was the one on the rooftop.if yuo wanted a sunbed you had to get up early and put towels down on them.the cleaners are great and very freindly.the staff are all very helpfull and freindly.there is lots of night life and the turkish night is a must the food is brilliant and alot of varioty.but the only hitch is that the neibours at the calypso are quite noisy but if you ask for a quite room you don't get as much noise and if you have air-con which is highly recomended then you can shut the door which blocks alot of noise out.i styaed in room 332 and the cleanere was called elif and on the last day when the clener changes your sheets she will leve a paten from your towels and sheets on your bed like hearts and fans made out of towels with jasmine flowers great jester overall enjoyed the holiday alot i would give it 4 and 1/2 stars

having been to Jasmin Beach Apartments last year, a party of 12 we were keen to stay another year. Again we were not disappointed. Although the cooking facilitities are a little basic its so cheap to eat out and i never cook when im on holiday anyway. From the cleaners to the bar staff nothing was ever too much trouble and they always had a smile for us and everyone of them acknowledged you as you passed. The grounds also are immaculate. What made this holiday special was the greeting we received when we arrived as they recognised us from the previous year. We always go abroad but have never before had the personal touch like we received from this holiday resort, it made us feel quite special. As for eating out, Jasmin Beach Apartments meals we found were probably one of the cheapest places to eat. Gumbet also has lots and lots of restaurants and bars so the choice is endless. As for the younger age group theres Bar Street which has clubs and foam parties to their hearts content. The beach is literally situated just across the road which we spent alot of time on. Jasmin Beach Apartments has its own sunbeds on the beach so you can literally go down the beach and stroll across the road to have a nice cool drink. To sum it up its got everything you need. Fantastic time at Jasmin Beach booking again for next year again with another big party.

We arrived 15/07/09, the resort is large with 3 pools which are in good order. Our room was basic we were self catering, there were not good cooking facilities/equipment in the room but we were not planning on cooking. The fridge didn't work, this took two days to fix and the bathroom was a let down, fixings on the wall were loose and the overall room was old and grubby. I was using the shower and the drain backed up causing the floor in the bathroom to become flooded and slippery, my daughter had gotten ready for the evening and was standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom and was putting on her make up when the apartment upstairs flushed their loo and the lot came through our ceiling and covered my distressed daughter.I complained to our Thompson rep who arranged a change of room but things still went wrong. We moved nearer to the bar area which was noisy 24/7 we were put in a ground floor apartment that had resort staff with trollies going past day and night and because it was close to the bar the usual drunken noises.
We paid for the air con( hidden charge 30 p/w), there was also a problem with ants in the room. During the night the A/C decided to break down and at 1 o'clock in the morning were then repacking to change rooms again as the heat was about 36 at night.
Thompson offer an emergency helpline that they advertise is 24/7 we tried calling this on two occasions on this night but no one from Thomson answered, we were then moved to a much nicer room where we had no more problems. While we were at the resort we noticed that our toiletries and make up were going rather quickly other visitors around the pool were saying the same, one family said they saw the cleaner going through their suitcase and helping herself. While we were there and during our visit we were told by lots of other visitors that a waiter had been arrested for some sort sexual offence with an under aged British girl, we saw that lots of Turkish men were very touchy feely around unaccompanied females this was at the resort and away from the resort, however please do NOT judge all Turkish people like this as we found the majority very nice decent people. Eating and drinking on the resort was expensive and the mini market had greatly inflated prices, local shops are nearby.
I will not be recommending this resort as we heard and saw that the resort moved other holiday makers into the effected room and they were experiencing some of the problems that we had suffered.Turkey it's self is great, Gumbet is a good location with clean beeches and great places to eat that offer great menu's at fantastic prices. There are many bargin's to be had in the local shops and English sterling goes a long way.

Felt a bit apprehensive before we arrived in Gumbet, as I'd read some very mixed reviews. However, our week at the Jasmine exceeded all expectations. We were given a lovely apartment, situated in the middle of the gardens- away from the bar area,so not too noisy. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We used the restaurant several times-good food and service. At this time of year, Gumbet was not too busy. We went to Bodrum a few times-great bargains, but you need to haggle! Bitez is a really pretty beach, recommended by our Rep. I would definitely return to Gumbet. It's good for families-my teenage daughter got used to offers of being paired off with people's brothers! My 12 year old son absolutely loved it and can't wait to come back. I myself thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Some of the other guests were a bit loud, but it's their holiday too! I still found it very relaxing- the pool area is comfortable, with plenty of sunbeds-didn't have to get up too early! All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by Gumbet and would definitely return again. Turkey is a a fascinating country - there's lots more I want to see.

For our third visit to Turkey we chose Gumbet, no real reason, just one of those things. Likewise the Jasmin Beach Apartments. Location is 35 mins from Bodrum Milas airport and most folk got off the coach at The Jasmin, good first impression! As it was too dark to see anything when we arrived we left it til late next morning. Great premises at the Jasmin, clean and very appealing with plenty of greenery for shade. Lots of facilities but beware, don't commit to anything until you've priced it elsewhere. The complex has its own shop which is very limited and expensive, really expensive. Bus to Bodrum runs every couple of minutes from outside the Jasmin main entrance at a cost of 2.20 TL (around 90p) driving is truly atrocious so think twice before hiring a car. Locals are friendly (they want your money) but do tend to mither you a lot. This I think is part and parcel of the holiday. Talk to them if you wish but if not just be nice about it but give a firm NO THANKS. Food does'nt vary greatly from restaraunt to restaraunt, it's all lovely so just go for one you like the look of or the cheapest. The Carpediem is a good mix of surroundings service, price. Located on the main beachfront. Bodrum I found to be a little cheaper? Not sure why as its a bustling place with a huge shopping area. Try the smaller kebab shops in the back streets for a tasty and cheap snack. Days at sea cruising and swimming are a great way to relax, trips can be bought from the sea front for around £16 inclusive of meal and drinks. Warning. Prices are a mix of GBPounds, Euro's, and Turkish Lira just remember to note which you are buying in. Have fun it's a great place.
