Stopped at Gardenya for a week in July 2010. Myself and my 17 year old daughter were looked after really well, the staff work hard and the food is really nice. Our apartment overlooked the pool and with it being 42 degrees the aircon was a must! I cannot fault the... more

Is the Gardenya the "Hotel from Hell?” Noise is a problem with this hotel both during the day and through the night. They appear to have a very limited choice of music which they continually repeat at very loud volume. Forget relaxing by the pool or sleep at night as... more

This holiday was a total disaster. The rooms were tiny, the air con was only in one room which meant we had to sleep with our door open to let cool air out to the other couple sleeping in the kitchen - on two pieces of plywood with foam throw on top, screwed to the walls... more

Absuloutly Fabulous!!
Oh my god!! Where do I begin with the Gardenya hotel! It is absuloutly amazing and I would definatly go again. I have been there twice already and I can't get enough of it!! The bar staff were brilliant. They made us feel so welcome and warm. On my birthday, they all sang "Happy Birthday" to me, bought me a cake and even took me out that night when the bar had closed! You don't get generousity and kindness like that nowadays. The views from our room were spectacular. Both times when we stayed there, we were over-looking the pool and bar area. We had assistance with our bags to our room and got a free drink at the bar!! I was in floods of tears coming home because I had enjoyed myself so much. I definatly recommend this hotel to anybody wishing to stay in Bodrum, as you will be blown away by what it has to offer. Megan, aged 16 x
Too many steps
The Gardenya apartments were more than satisfactory for our requirements. There were good facilities for self catering including a microwave, kettle and plenty of utensils and crockery even though we didn't have to use them as it was so cheap to eat out every day. We stayed in room N4 which was away from the pool area and so reasonably quiet but there were far too many steps if you're carrying heavy luggage so I would suggest asking for help at reception if your luggage is particularly heavy. The staff are friendly and helpful and the Turkish BBQ Night is worth booking. If you'll be venturing to Bar Street, then I recommend visits to the Apple Restaurant, Life Xtra and De Ja Vue bars where the staff are not only friendly but very entertaining. They made our holiday. Hello to Murat at De Ja Vue!
fantastic
stayed in gardenya for 14 nights in 05 and was the best holiday i've ever had! the staff were so friendly, helpful and polite. if your staying b&b or half board then rooms are quite small but clean and well equipped. it's quite a lively hotel with music and fab turkish night. we stayed b&b but didn't really like the turkish breakfast (olives, meat slices, cheese, salad) and there was no english alternative but the meals in the poolside bar were great, cheap, fresh with lots of tastes of home so is ideal for kids. if you want to go on excursions i would highly recommend not going with the reps as they are so much cheaper from the people in the harbour and they often throw in free ones. we had a free turkish bath which was heavenly!
Wonderful holiday friendly place
We have just returned from the Gardenya Hotel in Bodrum Turkey after 14 days stay. What a wonderful place, it's 2 star accommodation so don't expect the height of luxury, the staff are extrememly friendly and helpfiul and the room we were in was more than adequate for our needs. We had a small balcony which over.looked the pool area (as most of the rooms do) and the views from our room and the restaurant are magnificent. Rooms are clean and comfortable, we did have to ask for our towels to be changed , but nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food and drink was good value and as good if not better than the Bodrum harbour area (Large beer 3.5 Lira) Take English money as the exchange rate is better than at home and fluctautes daily, and can be changed in most of the small supermarkets in the surrounding area at no comission. The best rate we got was 2.80 Lira to the pound. Other good bars and restaraunts to go to in the surrounding area are:- Jimmy's Bar (just down the hill) Cool Bar and Demeters as well as all the other harbour area bars. You'll get Sky Sports and get to watch the matches in a good atmosphere. Book any tours with the tour agents in Bodrum, its better value for money than the reps and they throw free tours in with them. I would definately recommend the hotel and Bodrum and will go back again.
Sole traveller at Gardenya
I arrived at Gardenya in the early hours of the morning. I found the rooms to be very pleasant with fridge, balcony, Ironing board, kettle, on suite and they were very clean. My intention was to use the hotel as a base and travel to local areas from there whilst relaxing. The hotel looks great and is very clean however my major gripe was the noise. I changed rooms 3 times and the staff and rep were all very helpful in facilitating this but the noise from the pool bar went on until 1am at a very loud level, then the noise from other bars nearby was also very loud and because of the layout of the hotel there are hotel guests coming in at all hours. If you have a pool room (which I did and so did many others) it's even worse as the music stops at 1 am, then you have people coming in drunk and noisy and they have to walk past the pool area to go anywhere else because of the layout. In the morning you have peole walking past your room to get out and the noise from the swimming pool is considerable as there were many familes and lots of children. The rooms are not double glazed and air conditioning costs extra so blocking the noise out is impossible and you can't even open windows to let the air in as it becomes even noisier. Please note also that if you are a non smoker, both Turkey and this hotel really are not non smoking friendly. Nice staff, great rep, nice rooms but I would never go back here because of the all pervasive noise.
Are you fit enough?
I have been to Bodrum on 7 previous occassions and seen this hotel from the road. Really lovely hotel, shame about the obnoxious unhelpful male on reception. Our apartment was lovely, and very well equipped with loads of room. I would recommend going into physical training for the marathon at the end of the day. 94 steps from road to our room, but was worth it for the fantastic view. I had taken a friend with me saying what a wonderful place Bodrum was, to my horror, the English Tourists let us down at 4am in the morning with a fight over football that eventually led to the local police being called. Was very disappointed in the clientelle being a little on the "rough" side with a group of women not covering themselves when they went to eat from sunbathing topless by the pool. Have decided that next year will be staying across the road at the Eden hotel for £8 a night with breakfast via Alpharooms, this is not a tourist hotel, but used by business men, therefore always space around the pool, and staff although not great with english are very helpful and friendly.
