We went on this holiday as a group of 13 after finishing our A-level exams. Firstly, the good points. The hotel looked beautiful and it was a brilliant location being right next to the sea, and outside of the town centre, so it was quieter . The pool is very big and the... more

Hello, I have just got back from the Vera Club TMT and was very impressed. We just wanted a cheap holiday, all inclusive, swimming pool, sea and sun that's it! And the TMT really did fulfil that and more. Thomas Cook: Rep changed after one day and we didn't meet the 2nd... more

Can't wait to go back next year!!
What can I say... everything was great!!! I stayed here with my mate from 26th August 2006 for 1 week. Food was out of this world.... desserts to die for....everything was tasty and fresh. We spent the whole week just chilling out without being hassled which sometimes isn't easy in Turkey. Day time entertainment was ok,not that we felt the urge to join in!! Evenings were spent in the garden bar or later at the disco, again nice just to kick back and chill. Don't get me wrong there was plenty to do .....just we chose not to!! Only downsides.... stairs up to family rooms.....64 to our rooms!!!! You certainly remembered to bring everything down with you in the mornings!!!!! It would be nice if the all inclusive drinks were displayed a bit better so you could see what was available.. To end on a positive ......brilliant staff, hotel and surroundings..... see you same time next year.....
Fantastic Holiday at TMT
After reading all the reviews on this site I couldn't wait to go to Aegean Holiday Village or Vera TMT as it is now called. When we arrived it was even better than expected! Staff are fantastic and love British people. The hotel is mostly visited by French and Dutch people but the animation team make sure everyone mixes with daily pool side games. The nightly shows are tongue in cheek slap stick which most adults got bored with but the children loved them. Once the shows finished you can go down to the bar beside the sea where a disco goes on till late. The food is gorgeous, so much to choose from throughout the day. We especially liked the lady who makes pancakes in the garden bar, between breakfast and lunch. She smiles all the time, even though she was sat next to an oven in 45 degree temperatures! Rooms are clean and well kept. If you have any complaints with your room the hotel just move you to a new one straight away. The hotel is in an ideal location, and is quiet at night. I can honestly say this is the best holiday i have been on for the first time ever i will return to the same hotel.
Lovely Hotel
We went to the Aegean Holiday Village this July 2006 and had a great time. I was very impressed by the hotel's cleanliness which is one of the things that I think is a necessity. The bedrooms were basic but very clean and the maid service was great. The main restaurant has a fantastic variety of food every day, including a variety of bread, two different soups every day, lunchtime and evening, one hot buffet, one cold buffet and a dessert buffet to make your eyes pop out! The restaurant is very large with a variety of seating and you can also sit outside if you wish. The pool is fantastic. The hotel is at the water's edge but not on a sandy beach. There is a concrete walkway where there are plenty of sunloungers and big cushions. If you want to get into the sea, you have to go down a few steps. There is a bar at the water's edge and in the evening it is a great place to have a drink. A disco takes place every evening down there until the early hours. There is nightly entertainment with their own theatre and the Turkish night I can recommend and the belly dancer was fantastic. I wasn't too keen on the other shows though. There are buses every 15 minutes from outside the hotel into Bodrum which is 5 minutes away. The buses run from 07.00 in the morning until 05.00 the following morning. There also also taxis right ouside the hotel. The staff are great, very friendly. On the whole I'd say this was a good hotel, good location, good staff, good food and clean.
great
Excellent- went last year going again this year - mainly to see the improvements AND takeover everyone was talking about last year. 2005- all the staff were amazing - really friendly an helpful. Very family orientaed except all the stairs to the family units. Entertainment is poor so is the locally run kids club. BUT..its worth a try. Cleaners turned up every day even if u wanted a lay in. Take your anti-s... pills if youve a queesy tummy u WILL need them.
Excellent time
We have stayed at this resort 2 years on the run. First year 2 adults and 1 child Send time 6 adults and 5 child All enjoyed ourselves Food good Rooms always kept very clean Staff excellent, always went out of there way. Pool always clean Only problem is the nightly entertainment.
Faultless - Go Enjoy!
We have just returned from a glorious week's holiday, courtesy of the TMT Club Vera. When we booked this through the tour operator the Hotel was called the AEGEAN HOLIDAY VILLAGE. I believe the chain was bought out and Club Vera is the new name.. not that I am an authority on this - neither does it really matter... The flights from the UK to the resort arrive at stupid O'Clock. Thanks to a dopey Rep we were plonked on the wrong coach and held up proceedings for 45 mins because we were 'missing' When you are sitting on a coach at 2:00 in the morning all you want to do is get to your hotel and get to bed, especially when you are travelling with children. We eventually get on the right coach and our fellow travellers throw us us some scornful looks, as to the uneducated the delay would appear to be our fault. Not that the rep does anything to contradict this so we shuffle onboard feeling a little sheepish. Anyway, we are the final drop off and we arrive finally at the hotel at 3:00 in the morning. We quickly get our key and get to our room, quickly hit our beds and decide to unpack in the morning. Morning comes and the sky is a beautiful cloudless azure blue. The welcome briefing is ridiculously set at 10am. Most guests decide to give it a wide birth. [advice for Thomson et al - If you are going to get your holidaymakers to the resort at stupid times, start your welcome meetings at midday] I give this shiny woman 15 minutes of my time and grab my family from the room so we can start our day. RESTUARANT: A marvellously and meticulously set out breakfast buffet awaits our perusal. As we wander around I note the chefs are walking around the room, ensuring all looks as it should. A particularly impressive point for me that this Hotel's chefs clearly take a great deal of pride in their work. Bear in mind this is a multi national hotel so everyone's tastes are to be catered for. You won't find your "Full English" here, but a delicious selection of fruits, cold meats and cheeses, cereals, boiled and scrambled eggs, fresh breads, teas and coffees... it goes on. Venture outside to the sheltered eating area and you are blessed with the most magnificent views of distant mountains and sprawling clear seas. Out here there are two delightful old Turkish ladies who will make you a tasty fresh omlette - Anything from plain egg to added cheese, tomatoes, peppers, onions and seasonings. The other lady is making fresh american style pancakes with lashings of black cherry jam and honey at your disposal. Irresistable. Both of these became a staple for me whilst my son was happy to see Coco Pops avaialble. No toast or toaster though - Still, you can't have it all, eh? Lunch and dinner is presented with the same meticulous attention to detail. A little tip for dinner is to get there at 7pm when the restuarant opens and see how much effort the chefs have put in to make your dinner enjoyable. Presentation is superb.. plus you get to feast first! I can't speak higher of my dining experience. First rate. POOL: After unlimited visits to the buffet and deciding we are all ready for some serious relaxing, we hit the pool area. This is a vast pool with a little children's paddling pool, a separate jacuzzi, a waterslide area that has two slides. These are only turned on at various points in the day and not permenantly on. The huge pool has no deep end, but steps into it at various places. it is 1'40m. there are goals for water polo and floats are provided if you do 'waterobics' There is a pool bar with one particularly cheeky waiter in it. I should say all waiters are very friendly characters and soon get to know your order.. and your name. Sunbeds and towels are provided FREE, so don't pack your suitcase out with bulky towels. This is a typical resort where the best sunbeds are reserved early, so do yourself a favour if you are so inclined and grab your beds before brekkie. No complaints at all about the pool. Always clean and immaculately presented. There is also a private 'beach' area with two jetty's. These have lovely huge cushions on them that make the best sunbeds when you combine three together. We could always find a place to lay down and enjoy the sun.. maybe in the height of the season it would be a differnt story, but I doubt it. There is no sand, well, an extremely small amount. The pedalo's are free, but there is a charge for the banana boat and jetski rides, plus they offer scuba diving to those interested. The sunbeds on the sea front are all on a wooden decking area. GARDEN BAR/GRILL: Lovely. The two old Turkish ladies mentioned previously make beautiful warm pitta-style breads for snacks, filled with cheeses/herbs/meats/chocolate. These are avaialble from 12 till 3, usually the snack grill involved chips and freshly grilled chicken and burgers, so no complaints from anyone. The garden bar overlooks the pool and is an enjoyable place to spend an hour or two. ROOMS: There is a new block of rooms that were just being furnished as we arrived. We were lucky enough to get one of these new rooms. Everything was brand new and the whole room had a new aroma to it. My cousin had one of the older style rooms near to the pool area [the new ones are a little further back] These suffer from poor sound insulation and if you are a very light sleeper, you may have a little trouble nodding off before midnight. Both rooms were more than adequate, ours obviously was more modern with a better aircon unit and a bigger TV, but neither of us was unhappy with our rooms. Maids cleaned the room every day and fully deserve a tip as sometimes we left that room like a tip and still when we returned it was immaculate. Another thumbs up from me. ANIMATION: The 'Animation' team have their own ampitheatre for their 'shows' at 21:30. They try hard enough to get you involved, but they don't make you do anything you don't want to do. There's regular pool games/fitness/ dance classes/kids sessions and they wander around and really want to be loved. I found one or two of them to be up their own ar*es, I also found it irritating that the want to eat with you.. at your table if you have a spare seat. Maybe I was being a little over critical though. They obvoiusly think it's a nice touch, but I just found it inconvenient, and watched most other holidaymakers sit in silence when joined by a animation team member at dinner time. Their 'shows' are naively played out with a charm of sorts. I don't envy them. I appreciate it must be a hard task to entertain English, German, Dutch, French and Belgian guests. There's also a mini-disco for the kids at 21:00, it's all a bit of fun, and although it's the same 7 songs every day, the kids don't seem to care. LOCATION: Beautiful. If you are purely going there to relax and do not wish to leave the 'village' you won't be disappointed. The views are stunning from nearly every angle and I took several pictures. I have posted a couple here. The walk into Bodrum town takes 15 minutes. BEWARE: the shopkeepers LOVE to chat and try out their english. They all more or less have the same stuff so if they can engage you in conversation and entice you into their shop, half of teh batter is won. We found nothing is priced and they love to haggle. My cousin and I found we usually paid HALF of their starting price, through canny dealing and purely threatening to walk away. Great fun for a day out. Wouldn't want to do it every day though. One shopkeeper resorted to calling a me a sheep [--] as I walked past - all done in jest though and part of the shopping experience! OVERALL: I can't fault it. I am quite a critical person by nature and if I have worked hard to enjoy my holiday I want it to be perfect. I am pleased to report that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Aegean Holiday Village/TMT Club Vera. If my wife could make one improvement it would be to label the food as some of it is clearly local specialities but no clues as to what it may be, my theory was try it - you have already paid for it. This is a family friendly hotel, it's not for all male/female groups looking to 'large it' as they will be disappointed. I would recommend it without hesitation. The management wander round the grounds and are rightfully proud of their hotel. Add to that the incredible value for money, the beautiful weather and glorious location and you have an irresistable package. ENJOY!
Superb!!!!!!
I was so impressed with this hotel. The room I had was fairly basic but had everything you could need and had so much space!! Everything is so easy to get to and find... the food was excellent and even a family member who is so picky with his food managed to enjoy some of it. There is plenty of fresh fruit and they even have a 'diet' section, which is boiled rice and boiled chicken by the look of it, and lots of fresh salad! also the desserts were excellent... The waiters were superb! so friendly and very quick and good at their jobs. they spoke very good english and had a real charm about them! We went on a few trips which were great! if you like diving then there is a scuba diving place at the beachfront, we did a days diving with them and it was great.! for learners and more experienced people. The entertainment is a little dodgy, bit boring really but you can just sit and listen to the music if you like... or walk into bodrum, 10 minute walk... The watersports place on the beachfront is excellent! so laid back... and if you dont have your money with you he lets you pay the next day... the jetski is great, the water is always quiet, so you can have a superb time. they have a banana boat and boat rides... rubber rings that get pulled by the boat, parasailing, windsurfing, wake boarding, water skiing! check him out! The snack bar is cool, if you miss lunch just pop up there and they give you chips (which are gorgeous!) and these pizza things that taste better than any pizza i have ever had! the pool was a little cold, but when you have been in there a while it is okay... the slides are great in the pool....! good for big and little kids!! and all you adults that like some fun! A few people in our group went to the market one day and said it was really crowded and not very enjoyable, the rest of us went into bodrum which was excellent, spacious, good quality and decent prices! dont forget to barter! All in all a brilliant stay and i'm so sad to be back home!
Excellent time !
Have just got back a few days ago and would definately reccommend this to others. The food and service was excellent, literally something to please everyone and the waiter service was spot on. They all worked very hard. The accommodation was fairly basic but was cleaned everyday and had all we needed.(How long do you actually spend in your room) The swimming pools were great, kids loved the slides! Kids club was good, no hard pressure to join in anything and the evening entertainment was good(a little longwinded sometimes but varied as much as possible). Daytime activities there if you wanted them. All in all a great family holiday, good value for money, and no complaints from the children..... or us !
fantastic holiday
fantastic hotel, staff very helpful and friendly, food excellent. Entertainment a little repetetive but plenty to do and drink in Bodrum..which is 5 min on the dolmus, well worth a visit. Would thouroughly recomend this hotel.
Fabulous!!
The rooms are basic but very clean. The waiters are great fun and the service excellent, the food is of a high standard with an extensive choice, it's a very short taxi or dolmus ride from Bodrum centre and is situated right next to the sea. The hotel entertainment is average to say the least and the bar is only open until 12, but the beer's good! All in all, a fabulous time!
