Service - all staff very friendly and helpful

Food - good range to suit all tastes, nicely presented and plenty of it

Rooms - clean, nicely furnished and good maid service & air conditioning

Grounds & pool well kept, a short walk through to beach

Animation team work hard to keep everyone entertained both in the day and evening and activities are good fun.

Good value for money.

Only down side is the building work going on opposite the front of the hotel and our original room faced this - it was too noisy to leave the door open - however we were moved to a room with a pool view and went on to have a fabulous holiday

We have just returned from Marhaba Beach in Tunisia and I can say it must be one of the longest boring two weeks in my life! This is not a 4 star hotel in many ways and I have stayed in four star!

The food, and entertainment was the worse I have ever experienced, bear in mind this was not a cheap holiday. In addition where ever you went into Sousse, you were constantly approached by scroungers. Yeah people think staff and people are friendly but thats for a reason. They constantly want your money !

There was nothing to do in the hotel so the actual brochure is misleading ! The hotel was mainly catered for other nationalities rather than the english. This was displayed in the food ! The food was disgusting, served on dirty plates.

We payed for all inclusive but it wasnt at all,we had to pay for bottle drinks and any half qulity food. Four star my foot! the entertainment was crap, the animination team were kid entertainers, you would have a better time at butlins! they were just hopeless, disorganised and a complete and utter joke ! In fact I have put a complaint as one of the team was clearly under the influence ! Not really what I realy want to pay money to see. I will also be taking this matter alot further. Luckily I did not take my children.

When you walk out the complex you are constantly approached by dealers asking if you want to purchase drugs. Spoke to the Rep about this and she denied it !

Sousse and Monastair are dirty and only good if you want to buy a hubbly bubbly machine or a camal.

This particular hotel was only money making, they hear you take your money out your pocket.

I would not be going to Marhaba beach ever again and as far as Tunisa is concerned it is disgustingly dirty. As a woman over there you are constantly harrassed by the slimey men, I think they are hoping to find a wife for obvious reason.

Never Again , a waste of my hard earnt money

JUST RETURNED FROM 2 WEEKS FROM THE MARHABA BEACH HOTEL.FIRSTLY I MUST SAY MY FAMILY HAD A FANTASTIC TIME AT THE RESORT WITH THE ANNIMATION TEAM [ABDUL,RICCO,AHMEN,AND SAM ]CONSTENTLY KEEPING US ENTERTAINED ,THE BEACH WAS 1ST RATE ,AND THE ROOMS WERE OK .WE ORRIGINALY BOOKED HALF BOARD BUT AFTER 2 DAYS WERE UPGRADED TO ALL INCLUSIVE FREE OF CHARGE BECAUSE OUR ROOMS HAB BEEN DOUBLE BOOKED .WE WERE PUT IN A FAMILY ROOM AND GIVEN CARDS FOR THE INCLUSIVE BENEFITS .EXCELLENT WE THOUGHT BUT HERE IS MY ONLY COMPLAINT. IF I HAD PAID FOR THE ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGE WHICH OTHER FAMILIES HAD OR DID WHEN THEY ARRIVED,UPGRADING THEMSELVES,IT WAS RUBBISH.THE DRINKS ARE CAPPED TO VERY SMALL MEASURES ,AND YOU CAN ONLY ORDER 1 DRINK PER CARD EVERY 5 MINS .THE FOOD AT LUNCH TIMES IN THE SNACK AND BEACH BARS ARE ONLY PIZZA OR CHIPS .IN THE END WE STILL PAID FOR A LOT OF FOOD ANYWAY TO GET SOMETHING DIFFERENT.THE FOOD HALL IS A LITTLE CRAMPED AND WATCH FOR THE MANY RUSSIANS WHO THINK THEY CAN TAKE OVER AND PUSH IN AND DO WHAT THEY WANT ALL THE TIME.I WOULD GO BACK BUT WILL CHECK ABOUT THE ALL INCLUSIVE BEFORE I BOOK

l live in the north Tunisa and for holiday go to Sousse for the fun time . l was really not proud of my Tunisian men when l see they all day make annoy for the tourists and only for the money and the girls. They pretend to be friend of this people and when tourists go, speak behind the backs and speak not good people.

This is my first time in hotel as l stay with my family in my father's house in sousse but it will be the last ever l go to hotel as l was not pleased to be Tunisian at the hotel. This was good experience for me as l want to see peoples who work for their money and how they spend it as l want to be hotel owner when l leave university, but maybe not now.

English pepole very nice at hotel but not wise to tunisian way and lose a lot of money as they think the men are friends but are friends only for that moment!

When l open hotel it not in tunisia

Booked this holiday independently. The hotel was only £61 per person for the week half board so if you can get a cheap flight to Monastir it’s far cheaper than a tour operator.

The only extra cost is taxi transfer to the hotel which is 15 dinar (about £6) although the taxi drivers will start at 25 dinar (hold out for 15).

The hotel is 4 star, has spacious comfortable clean rooms, is right on the beach with free sunbeds, has an outdoor and a heated indoor swimming pool, a restaurant offering a good and limitless choice of food for breakfast (suggest elasticised waistbands).

If you want entertainment in the evening then this hotel may not be for you or any other in Tunisia. The hotel is ideally placed to walk into nearby Sousse either along the beach or road.

A Taxi or Petit Train can be taken to Port El Kantoui (about 2 miles) for 3-5 dinar. The staff of the Hotel cannot do enough for you. Plus`s - a great place to unwind for a week in the sun, great value for money.

Minus`s - not a lot to do especially in the evening.

For a hot and cheap holiday this is a fantastic choice. However, for the money you pay the rooms are basic but the hospitality is brill.

You must be aware of the culture because it can be in your face. Everyone tries to sell you stuff and it can get quite scary.

The beaches are long and the water looks gorgeous. Always plenty of water sports to do in the height of the summer but does get quiet around September October and after that.

Taxis are very cheap and for a few quid you can travel along way.

Marhaba Beach Hotel was an excellent spot for us as a family of 4. Close enough to the beach and fairly central to all the amenities. The rooms were large and spacious.

Food was of a high standard especially the chocolate/sugar crepes served in the dining room. The only problem we had was that the tables were too close to each other.

The swimming pool was a bit deep for my 9 year old who wasn't a great swimmer. She has improved since then and we spent the majority of our time at the Tour Khalef pool

which was much better. We also preferred the entertainment there, as the team of Ahmed and Mehdi made everyone welcome.

As we went at the end of October it was quiet but much more relaxed. The weather in the afternoon was still hot enough for swimming at the start of November.

We all enjoyed it but preferred the Tour Khalef where we spent the summer of 2004

July/August much more.

Hope to visit it again.

What can I say about this hotel. From the moment we got there we loved it. We got there early in the morning and were very tired they were very helpful to take our bags up to the room. From looking out on the balcony even in the early hours of the morning we knew we were going to love it.

Food was great loads of choice and I’m a fussy eater but even I managed to eat something every night.

Pool side was great wasn't to busy but you did have to pay to use a sunlounger which is like 50p it's yours for the day then though. But if you didn't fancy the pool literally less than a minute to your very own private sandy beach.

There are some men who will come around selling things just don't make eye contact and they'll leave you alone. If you do go on the beach you have to do the aerobics even if it's not your type of thing, I loved it and I’m 16, and how many 16 year olds would say they did aerobics on holiday.

Also try one of the smoothies you don't need to ask for one you'll have a man who comes down to the beach from the pool selling them shouting 'smoothie moothie' or 'nana ni nana naa' you'll get used to it.

If you go out shopping to the Madina they do tend to try and hassle you into their shop by saying something stupid I have gift for you. Some men can be really nice they even new some welsh to speak to us as we're from Wales.

Just a tip though wear some sun glasses because if they catch your eyes looking at their items they will begin to hassle you, it works mind. Night life is ok but it's worth going out lovely places to eat around sousse. Just cover up a bit though.

I've got to mention the Animation Team I’ve read loads of comments but nobody mentions them. They made our holiday fabulous it wouldn't have been the same without them.

They are so welcoming lovely to talk to their working 16 hours a day 7 days a week I don't know how they do it. They are great with kids. They put on fabulous cabaret shows their so funny!

They try their best entertaining you so at least participate a little bit and show your appreciation they work so hard. There’s Aerobics and Bowls from 11am on the beach to Volley Ball, Water Polo, Archery, Mini Golf at 3pm. They are the best animation team you could get; they'll talk to everyone and anyone. Still doing club dance to this day, that's one thing you have to do while your there.

To finish off you should definitely go to this hotel it's worth it, we loved it so much I left the hotel about two times and I was there for two weeks, just never wanted to leave. Can't wait to go back!

I went to this Hotel in Sousse with my husband and 2 year old daughter and have been very impressed. I had read some reviews before I went and I felt nervous because some had said they hadn’t been happy. These people must be plain fussy.

We were greeted in reception with our keys and a porter took our bags up to our room. As we got there in the middle of the night we were pleased to be in bed swiftly.

When we got up for breakfast we looked out of the window to see the beach, sand and a beautiful sunset. At breakfast the table was all made up including high chair ready for us. The food was great with lots of choice and we could not fault our waiter.

The pool was lovely, lots of sun beds, lots of shade in the well kept gardens. There were numerous snack bars and shops on the complex, they even sold English newspapers.

There were taxis available outside the hotel that would take you into sousse for only 3 pounds. There were plenty of shops and restaurants round and about though without going into sousse if you were feeling lazy.

Couldn’t fault this holiday or resort but beware, the market holders can be hassling, which means you can haggle though and the weather is very hot, over 40 degrees someday. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Marhaba Hotel but spent most of our time at Marhaba Beach Hotel. This is our second time in Tunisia and also stayed at the same place.

Marhaba Hotel - Food was fine; no chance of going hungry! Variety of food and catered for all nationalities. Some nights the food wasn't as good but was always something to eat. Hotel was clean and always felt very relaxed.

The pool was okay apart from not much shade and as we went in August, it was a busy part of the year so was a bit packed. This is why we went to Marhaba Beach pool.

Staff were lovely; all the waiters in the restaurant were polite and helpful; our waiter got our toast and drinks in the morning.

Marhaba Beach Hotel - We spent pretty much all of our time here. Pool was good and always cooled you down which was needed! The Animation Team were fabulous; gave us the best laughs throughout the holiday!

Always had something happening and made everything fun, plenty of day activates happening around the pool and the beach (reach the beach through the gardens). Night time entertainment was great and always had us giggling (especially the cabaret!). Love to Rico, Momo, Aymen, DJ & Abdaul!

Greatly missed; made our holiday the best and hope to see them again when we next come to Tunisia.

Can not fault either hotel, I would recommend both hotels to anyone.

We have just come back from taking 7 of us to the Marahaba Beach. Ages ranged from 3yrs to 50, with a couple of 16 year olds in between.

We had a wonderful time!

I was a bit worried about going to Tunisia and I must admit the first couple of days we did feel out of our comfort zone. We got a bit frazzled about who to tip and how much, also Reception desk that first night did not take account of the fact that we did not have a clue about bank opening hours etc. That’s the only negative!

Then we started to relax. All the staff we found to be helpful - Ben in the restaurant was really good. All the cleaners were excellent.

The beach is beautiful, don't let the hawkers bother you on the beach - a polite "non merci" will stop them. Also we found walking between the beach and pool was so quick, our extended family could be set up in both places.

The local "smiley miley" bloke trying to sell you trips - ignore him. The boat trip was truly awful! Go into Port el Kantoui and do one of the catamaran trips, they are lovely and we did see dolphins!

You must try the noddy train and Tuk Tuk's - great fun for kids and I felt safer in them than in a taxi!

The entertainment team worked their little socks off and all our party loved them. My advice is doing worry about the whistle, give in and enjoy. We are still doing the "Marahaba Beach dance" to this day! Big love to Mu Mu

Very few English - that could be a bonus, when we went, lots of Novia Ruski - that’s not so good, they are a bit rude! But so entertaining to watch - see for yourselfs!

So go and have a great time, don't worry about the tipping - it’s a tiny amount to us, but a lot to them, so try not to be tight! Swim in the beautiful sea, play in the fantastic sand and eat loads of great food!

I travelled with my two daughters aged 14 and 9. The hotel was fantastic, the food was edible, although not very exciting, the staff in the hotel were great.

The choice of pools was excellent and the two minute walk to the beach - we walked really slowly - was well worth it. The day after we arrived even the locals were complaining about the heat with the temperature having reached 51 degrees in the shade!

Even so, the entertainment staff round the pool kept everyone going. There was different entertainment every night for both young and old to enjoy.

Port el Kantoui was only 5 dinar away in a taxi and the fountains at night there were beautiful. To eat out there was so cheap and tasty! I was really apprehensive before travelling to Tunisia but now cannot wait to go back.

This is not a larger lout holiday but a good safe place to be entertained and looked after by some lovely people.

As for Thomson, they looked after us well. Our flight back to Glasgow was the day after the terrorist attack. The staff at Monastir Airport kept us well informed and well looked after.

I cannot fault them or my time in Tunisia and look forward to when I can go back again.

We are just back after spending a week in Tunisia we were hoping for a relaxing week in the sun but we were not expecting to be bored to tears. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were excellent but beware there is nothing to do. We were told that there would be entertainment on a nightly basis but in reality it consists of a very nice elderly man playing the keyboard.

We had a day and a half of warm sunshine the rest of the week was freezing even though we know that we can’t blame our tour operator for the weather. Please beware that you can be stopped by people offering you drugs at every corner we found that if you say no thank you or if you pretend that you can not understand English they would eventually go away.

We went bed and breakfast but we only ventured down the once and didn't go down again. The snack bar does open from 8 in the morning to 12 at night. We recommend the chicken sandwiches which used to keep us going all day. The beach is one of the nicest we have seen but beware there is broken glass scattered every where.

We would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to get away for long walks on the beach and to get plenty of sleep but if you are like us and want to relax during the day and enjoy a good night out this is not the place to go.
