Stayed at Villa Mandi Golf Resort over Christmas, booked online with Thomson, flights booked separately with Jet2.

We had a one bedroom apartment which was large and well equipped, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster etc and absolutely spotless. Maids came round every day, even Christmas Day!

Not a cockroach in sight all week in the apartment (or anywhere else around the complex), in fact the only insect I saw was one tiny little ant in the bathroom.

One word of warning though, even though the window in the bathroom is ‘frosted’ you can still clearly be seen from outside when showering (as we saw for ourselves on a couple of occasions when walking around the pool area!).

I spent the week showering with the light out in the bathroom and crouching down to avoid any embarrassment! The hairdryer in the bathroom is handy if you just want to dry your hair, but if you do want to style it you should probably still take your own. Not nearly enough hangers in the wardrobes either.

The complex itself was just as pictured on the Thomson website with a really lovely pool area and the reception staff were really nice and very helpful. We never actually ate in the restaurant or at the snack bar, in fact we didn’t really spend much time at the complex, but the pool area always seemed busy when we passed through.

There is also a supermarket within the complex which was really handy. We took advantage of the safety deposit box in the room, which I didn’t think was too badly priced at around 15 Euros for the week.

We had a downstairs room at the entrance to the complex (no 226) and it had a really big balcony which got the sun all day (temperatures were in the 70s every day, although some days were a little cloudy).

The only problem with that room was that because the ‘service area’ was underneath we did get woken early every morning (around 7.00 am) by the sound of wheelie bins or linen trolleys being brought in and out.

It’s quite a walk from Villa Mandi into either Los Cristianos or Las Americas, maybe 30 minutes, but if you ask at reception they will order you a taxi.

Which cost us anything between 5 and 8 Euros – the cheapest fare was actually in the early hours of Christmas Day morning returning from the centre of Los Cristianos to Villa Mandi when the taxi driver told us they were charging extra, so not quite sure how they work their fares out sometimes considering they all use a meter, but still a small price to pay to save the old legs!

Los Cristianos is a really great resort with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to choose from and lovely beaches.

We’ve stayed in Las Americas on a couple of occasions and have to say that Los Cristianos is much nicer and Las Americas now seems very shabby by comparison, which is a shame because we did enjoy it when we stayed previously (perhaps it’s our age showing!).

Although we thought Villa Mandi was lovely, we would also be quite happy staying in the centre of Los Cristianos.

We booked a trip to Loro Park, which cost about 33 Euros each (including coach fare). The journey took approximately an hour and a half and then we had about five hours in the Park.

It was a really good day out, but we found the map you were given upon entry and the signs in the Park were very confusing. We actually gave up on finding ‘Tigerland’ at one stage, but eventually stumbled across it and I’m so glad we did as it really was great to see them up close.

Unfortunately we missed the dolphin show, but saw the whales and the sea lions which were both fab and I personally loved the penguin house.

All in all Villa Mandi was a lovely place to stay and we would definitely recommend it to anyone and would be happy to stay there again ourselves in the future.

Just got back from a great holiday in villa mandi, Tenerife.

It’s a Thomson super family hotel which means good for kids. they had water polo and pool aerobics and quiz every day (which we never won) and the evening entertainment was good. The reps shows done by Jumpin Jodie and Jazzy James were the best because they were so funny and the best reps in Tenerife! Some of the "professional acts" however were not so entertaining! But anyway I think the reps made the holiday so much more fun.

The hotel complex was quite big and is an orangey canary islands style (I guess). The pool was good, not too cold but enough to cool us down after hours in the hot sun.

It's located next to the golf resort, in the middle of nowhere. If you walk down the road you come to Las Americas in about half an hour which is my favourite place there or forward and across no-mans-land brings you to Los Cristianos. The hotel has a free bus service to Las Vistas Beach but it doesn't take you back afterwards.

The facilities at the hotel were quite good although expensive, internet for 4 euros, supermarket, table tennis and pool tables, mini golf also 4 euros and other stuff.

The apartments were good too - spacious and clean, but the cleaners consider a 10 Euro note a tip. Grrr.

Other staff there are good, receptionists who say "sure" if you ask them anything and bar tender lady who gave us free beers once, and was also quite attractive ;-). Drinks in the bar were cheap so we could stay there dancing to music after the entertainment was finished.

As for Tenerife- it's a nice island, only stayed in the south area, beaches all black sand but still fine for sunbathing and sea cold but clean. Went to Agualand in Costa Adeje - much fun, but overpriced - 23 euros each entry price, 6 euros for locker (which comes with Agualand Bag) and 3.50 for sun beds, which we escaped paying for by moving around too often for the guy to catch us and make us pay :). We went in several restaurants there - Chinese buffet for 6 euros in Los Cristianos and Indian and Sun King in Las Vistas all good food and service.

I wish I was there now, because it's cold here as usual and I miss the hotel and the reps. We had a great holiday and would recommend this hotel to families with kids.

The only down side was we were staying in room 113 which is on the ground floor with no front to the balcony so everyone stared at us when walking by and there was a family of chavs next door to us who we had an argument with!

Oh and also, it had the legend Thomson the Dog there! Thanks for reading this!

We are not long back from 2weeks at the Villa Mandi, self catering. Overall I would say I had a good holiday, our room was nice and big, great views, nice swimming pools and great kids entertainers.

However I would definitely not recommend half board, we ate at the hotel a few times and the food was terrible, over priced and the service was poor. The bar staff at the restaurant were very slow and sometimes just ignored you, a few times I gave up trying to get served and went to the supermarket.

The hotel is also quite a walk to the shops and beach, around 25mins so if you have young children I recommend a taxi.

Just back from villa Mandi where myself (29) my partner (32) and my 7 year old son just spent 2 weeks. Its hard to know where to start. the rooms was lovely and big but not very clean the cleaners did come in daily and do the towels, empty the bins and stuff but the sinks was not always cleaned and the floors was not done very often.

we did also have the problem that it looked like someone was going thro our stuff though we could not prove this we also found cockroaches in our room more then once and found we had to use spray to keep the ants away daily but they was not just in our room they could be found all over. On a good note the Thomson staff was great, friendly and despite the problems we had it was a very enjoyable holiday Monday nights in the pool bar is a must as the reps put on a show and they all put so much effort into making it a gr8 night. Our son really enjoyed going to kids zone and didn’t want to leave.

The villa Mandi is about a 20 min walk from town where they have lots of great places to eat and lots of shops if you don’t like walking you can get reception to phone for a taxi for you we never paid more then 5 euros for a taxi into town. We did have dinner a couple of times at the hotel but it was not very nice. We found the shop in the hotel to have a wide range of foods but it was a little over priced when compared to the shops in town.

Over all we enjoyed our holiday mainly down to the people we made friends with and the hard work of the reps we will be returning to Tenerife but will not stay at the villa Mandi again.

Just back from two fantastic weeks at Villa Mandi. We had a lovely spacious clean room with great views of the pool and the golf course. Villa Mandi is a lovely hotel, with daily maid service, but I would recommend self catering as the food left a bit to be desired and was a bit costly for what you got.

There is a huge choice of eating places close by that you don't need to eat in the hotel (I would recommend eating in the Safari area of Las Americas) - self catering is definitely the best option. Although out of resort so taxi's were a must it was so quiet at night that when going with children is great. Our 3 year old loved the swimming pools - of which there are 4 and also loved Kidzone.

The Thomson entertainers worked really hard and was visible to see, thank you so much to Jumping Jodie & Jazzy James who definitely helped make our holiday memorable. All in all this Aparthotel was lovely and we would definitely go back! I have very high standards so it's not often I would say that! I wasn't disappointed.

I would definitely recommend this resort it is sunny all year round the people are so welcoming and the food is delicious.

Hotel: The hotel we stayed at was a golf resort it offered many activities for children and offered things such as bar/restaurant, Maid service, a large pool the list goes on.

The Town: the town itself is called Playa De Las Americas it is a busy town and cars do not know when to stop, my sister almost got knocked down the first night we were there the driver really have no mercy. When walking about the town you get people handing you leaflets and trying to get you to eat in your restaurant, these people should be avoided. If your up for it you can go to the pub and clubs which are opened all hours and are very helpful in trying to drain the money out of you.

We have just returned from Villa Mandi, having had a full 2 weeks there. The accommodation is very good. Spacious rooms, very clean and tidy.

We arrived at dark o’clock in the morning having been travelling all day. We were tired, very thirsty and it was still 20 odd degrees outside (not moaning about that). We have a 2 year old daughter, who desperately needed some water and milk. So off I went to reception to ask were I could get some, only to be told that there was no where open. So I then had to walk into the town in the dark not knowing where I was going to try and find a shop still open. 25 mins later I found one. Slightly quicker to get back, only 20 mins.!!

I guess what I am saying is that they should lay on a welcome pack with some basics, mainly some water. Or if you have a late flight remember to pick up a few things from the Airport before the transfer.

On the whole Villa Mandi is a great place to stay if you have kids of toddler age. There are a few niggles such, as the Bar service can be slow, the staff tend to ignore you while they have there little chats. Also the food from the restaurant is pretty poor, and on one occasion totally un-edible.

The staff are very friendly, and we have never been to a place where they will change all your towels and bed linen every day if you so wish, the wife was very impressed with that.

Just one last thing, looking at one of the other reviews, We also noticed that we thought some money had gone missing, and from the safe!! When I booked the safe at reception I was told you needed a 6-figure number. No problem I used our home telephone number, WRONG don’t do it, think of someone else’s telephone number that won’t appear on any of the holiday booking forms. One lady we spoke to there stated that she had had a bra pinched from her underwear draw!!!

As I say Villa Mandi on the whole is a nice place to stay. Would we go back? I think possibly yes.

I Have been to Tenerife twice before and have stayed in a much quieter part of the island, so I was looking forward to staying where it was said that Tenerife came alive. We arrived at our hotel (10pm) and immediately there was a problem, they had put us in the wrong room, but us being eager we had already unpacked, so we had to repack to move rooms.

We slept well, when we got up in the morning we went down for breakfast, If that’s what you want to call it. It was more like dog food. The Cooked breakfast was cold and the cereal was stale. Not worth the 6 euros that we had paid.

We returned to our room to find out that we had been attacked by Ants they were everywhere so we went to reception and reported it to ***** ( He was so helpful). He got on to the pest control and they sprayed the room.

Then it was time to have a shower, but what had happened to the hot water. Back up to ***** we went, he assured us that the problem would be sorted out, but 3 hours later we still had only cold water.

The swimming pool was nice and the two receptionists ***** and **** were very helpful, they helped when possible and even gave us a few recommendations of things to do in our two week stay. I cant say the same for the Reps though, they were use less, they were hung over most of the time and were very unapproachable. I was also disappointed with the attitude of the third receptionist a rude and unfriendly woman who’s name I didn’t think to write down. In the middle of the last week we started to notice that money was going missing from the room, 10 euros here, 10 euros there. So we reported it to this receptionist.

She ensured us that she will speak to the cleaners get to the bottom of the problem and call us back before 4pm, well at 7pm we still hadn’t received a call, so we went to reception, She then said to us "you are lying our staff are very trustworthy there is nothing we can do" we explained to her that we didn’t come on holiday to get our money stolen and that an apology will be much appreciated and she replied with " I am not apologising you are lying" She then turnt her back on us. We were fuming and when we went to see the rep to inform them, they were no where to be found and no one knew where they were (that made a change, NOT).

So not a good holiday, Would I recommend this hotel, no not at all, even if it was the last place in Tenerife.

When we arrived at 03.00am we were allocated our 2 bedroom apartment and shown to it by very friendly staff there was my husband and I and our 2 children 14 and 4 our accommodation was lovely and very spacious and had a fantastic view over the pool and golf course we were very pleasantly surprised to find we had a separate bedroom upstairs with en suite bathroom and its own patio where we could go and sit in the evening and have a drink before bed the super family entertainment was really impressive for our 4 year old little boy. We only had breakfast in the hotel on 1 occasion as we just had cereal in our apartment and ate out every evening in some fantastic restaurants in Costa Adeje which was only 5 mins away in a taxi we preferred it to Los Cristianos which is looking a bit tired. All of enjoyed the Villa Mandi so much it was very clean very good value for money and the pools were excellent anybody looking for good accommodation should go here as my husband says if it was ok for me it will be ok for anyone as I am very fussy were holidays are concerned occupational hazard maybe as I am a travel consultant .

Fantastic, brilliant, fab, superb. Loads to do for the kids. Kids zone does the utmost to keep kids entertained so much that they don’t really want to leave the resort to do anything else.

There is plenty of opportunity for adults to get involved and peace and quiet should you need it.

All the reps in the resort are dedicated to making this a holiday you won’t forget.

If we must put a negative point it is that the bar service is a bit slow at times, but this is being rectified. So if we were to rate this on a scale of 1 - 10 we would say 11.

A big thank you to Chris, Jodie and all the reps for putting the super into superfamily.
