My hubby and I have just returned after spending 10 nights at Villa Mandi. We have been to Los Cristianos many times but this is definitely the best accommodation we have ever had.
The complex was spotless, lovely big apartments, huge bathroom, beds and towels changed daily. All the pool area was very clean.
Although the Thomson reps had things organised daily they were encouraging but not intrusive if you did not want to join in.
15mins walk into Cristianos centre (safety bridge to get over the busy road).
Weather was hot (80degs) everyday it was a wonderful holiday. Staff were very helpful, supermarket onsite, prices were reasonable and staff polite.
I would recommend this complex to both families and couples alike - will definitely be going back.

Just returned from Villa Mandi after a fantastic, sunny week. The hotel was lovely, the apartment very spacious and comfortable.
The room was spotless and the cleaners came 6 out of the 7 days. Can't rate cleaners highly enough, they were faultless, beds made and towels changed every day.
The grounds and surrounding areas were kept spotless too with a gardener there most mornings. It really was quite beautiful. All the local staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel shop was very useful, staff very friendly and it had everything we needed.
Very impressed with Las Americas shops and restaurants (ask taxi for Safari shopping centre). We ate here most nights and favourite restaurant was probably Harry's American Pie although lots of others to chose from. It's a good 20 minute walk or 4 to 5 minutes by taxi for around 5 Euros.
Ask the reception staff at the hotel for a taxi and one will be there within a couple of minutes. We didn't venture into the older part of town where all the bars and night clubs are so can't comment on this. We ate at Los Cristianos one night but preferred Las Americas, as we weren’t harassed as much to go into the restaurants.
Highlight of the week was probably the dolphin show at the Aqua park in Costa Adeje (Aqualand). The dolphins were amazing and well worth seeing! Entrance to Aqualand is 23.50 Euros and 16.50 Euros for kids (although we had a voucher for a free child), the dolphin show is free with 2 showings at 1pm and 3pm. Sunbeds at Aqualand were 4 Euros each and food and drink was expensive so good idea to take a picnic.
Back to the hotel, there were 2 freeform pools on different levels and 2 baby paddling pools. There were 2 parks for children to play in and a mini golf course (not free). The pools were excellent, very clean, plenty of sunbeds, tables and umbrellas.
There's a bar next to the pool and restaurant with tables inside and out (near pool). English cooked breakfast served every day, buffet style, 6 Euros for adults and 3 for children. Lunch and snacks served throughout the day (hot dogs, burgers, salads, spaghetti etc.). Evening meals, served from 6.30pm, were reasonable although we preferred the restaurants at Las Americas.
My only complaint for the whole holiday would be the Thomson staff. I can't say they were particularly brilliant, not particularly friendly, or helpful. When we were picked up by the coach to go back to the airport there were no staff there to see us on to the coach (which arrived early) and not sure everybody was there!
The evening entertainment wasn't brilliant either. My grandson didn't want to go to the kids clubs so can't comment on them although there were free sun hats and t shirts available for the kids whom I thought was good. Best Thomson member of staff would have to be 'Thomson the Dog'. I must say though that all the local staff were fantastic so ask at reception if you need anything.
To sum up, Villa Mandi is a fantastic place to stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It's the cleanest, most well maintained hotel I've stayed at. We'll definitely be returning soon. The area opposite is currently being landscaped and will only add to the beauty of the area. I should point out that there was no building work going on in the area and we were not disturbed by anything throughout the whole week.
Can't wait to go back!

Just got back from Villa Mandi and I have to say I was surprised that anyone had a bad word to say about it. The apartments are large well designed and kept very clean. The view from our balcony was absolutely fantastic and put a smile on my face every morning. We had half board and although the buffet breakfast may have contributed to my future coronary (my fault I love the full English breakfast) the food was great although after two weeks when eating dinner, you do start repeating your orders on the menu frequently so a bit more of a selection would be good.
The resort is equal distance from Los Christianos and Las Americas and it only costs 4-5 euros to get to either one in a taxi. It’s lovely and quiet and was perfect for me and my girlfriend although there are no bars or restaurants directly outside the resort so if you like just spilling out of the front door and finding a bar you will have to either walk for 25 minutes or get a taxi. That is the price you pay for not having drunken louts shouting in the street in the early hours of the morning. Was fine by me :)
The hotel staff are all very kind and everyone speaks very good English. Particularly the male receptionist who besides looking every bit the Spaniard is actually from South London.
Although it didn't matter to us the Thompson reps are always up to something with the kids and keep them well entertained. They were friendly and helpful. However Thompson really do jack up there prices for excursions charging almost double what other excursion company's charge. They will try to get you to sign up to them at the welcome meeting but are not pushy. Just don't do it and go with Direct Excursions who are half the price and just as good. We went with Thompson for our boat trip and after realising that everyone else did the same thing for cheaper we went with Direct Excursions which is a local independent and we were just as well looked after. Biggest gripe with Thompson’s this one.
I rarely go to the same place twice but feel that one day I might go back to Villa Mandi as it really was just so relaxing and friendly, not to mention in my opinion one of the most pretty apartment villas in Tenerife. I'm a photographer and my holiday snaps from around the grounds look wonderful. Choice of two pools and a very beautiful well kept garden and a mini golf course, fantastic.
Fully recommended and I hope if you go there your holiday is just as peaceful, relaxing and fun as ours was. One of the best holidays I’ve ever had and much of that down to Villa Mandi.

Me and my boyfriend took my mum away for 2 weeks. Excellent time, very clean and large rooms - couldn't find fault. Going back April 08 for 2 weeks this time with my grandson and 8 other adults Brilliant for children, reps work hard. Shop expensive stay out. Plenty going on in town if you want more, lots of good restaurants and not expensive. Get to meet lots of people around pool as lots of activities in pool with reps.

I visited Villa Mandi with Thompson between 10-24th August 2007 with my wife and 15 year old son. The complex as a whole was excellent with attentive staff and little appeared to be too much trouble for them.
We had room 314 overlooking the pool and golf course which was more than adequate, being very clean and tidy but room equipment was a little lacking and the put-up 3rd bed was not great. This was a shame as it’s claimed to be a four 4 star complex - everything was an extra or needed a deposit, i.e. TV remote, safety deposit box hire etc. Room was made-up every day even if not requested and towels changed every other day. Just one problem with the apartment was the bathroom window - virtually transparent and needed a temporary curtain as everything could be seen!
Restaurant food was fine but menu choice a little limited and the walk into either Los Cristianos or Las Americas became bit of a chore especially across the ‘no-mans-land’ outside the apartments but taxis were plentiful, reliable and cheap, all between 4 & 7 euros and on each occasion the meter was used.
Pool areas were swept and moped clean every day with pools themselves suctioned most days and water Ph testing was regular – although chlorine effect a little high most of the time.
Thompson’s welcome meeting was OK but lots of emphasis on selling their trips which were generally more expensive than if arranged otherwise. Thompson reps were good at their jobs and always turned up at scheduled times. We didn’t require use of the kids clubs but plenty of children were attending and from what I saw they all seemed happy and well entertained.
Thompson flights were good (Boeing 757-200’s) but the in flight meals definitely not worth paying £12 per head – take your own food and buy soft drinks once through check-in. Return flight left ahead of schedule but on arrival a Gatwick we waited in excess of 60 minutes for our baggage to be off-loaded due to some sort of problem with handlers not great at 1am!
Taking a balanced view I would not hesitate in recommending Villa Mandi for a good family holiday at a competitive price – it may be worth checking out costs for half board against self catering if you plan to spend most of your time on the complex.

We, 2 Adults, 4 kids (10, 9 & 2 7yr olds) stayed here for two weeks and we enjoyed it so much that we have already booked again for next year.
The accommodation was spacious and cleaned regularly, all the local staff were friendly. The meals served in the restaurant were quite good, pretty basic, but a lot better than we thought they would be having read some other reviews, with 4 young kids we weren't looking for anything to fancy.
We went into Las Americas a few times, taxis about 6 euros, walking it took about 20 mins, plenty of restaurants to choose from, and also a Spar shop which came in handy as the supermarket at the apartments was quite expensive.
The pools were clean, we mainly used the main one beside the bar which was great for the kids and most afternoons had a game of water polo for the adults, along with other entertainment.
The kids entertainment was excellent, clubs to keep them occupied during the day which all the kids wanted to go to, and discos to keep them entertained at night. The kid-zone reps were mad, and the kids loved them all, 3 evenings a week from 7-9 there was a party on at kids club, 4 euros each (well worth it for your sanity), I'm sure the kids agreed.

There were 7 of us that stayed at the Villa Mandi for 2 weeks, 4 adults 3 kids.
We had rooms 315 and 244 and both were perfect, really clean, spacious, and decorated to a really high standard. The only difference with the two rooms was that ours (315) had not just a balcony but some stairs leading up to our very own sun terrace, which overlooked the golf course, which was gorgeous.
The pools were both lovely, you had the main pool which was where all the fun was, then the quite pool where you could sunbathe in peace while the kids were in Kidzone, which they loved and the kids reps work really hard to keep the all occupied.
The entertainment was good and Thomson the dog comes out every night to dance with the children.
The only thing that lets this hotel down is the food we only ate there once and felt we was overcharged for what we got.
But apart from that this is definitely the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in.

Just returned from a 1 week stay at Villa Mandi.
Room 206 lovely big balcony and room lovely size, kitchen area a little small and no oven.
Disappointed at the waste ground outside of the complex let the location down, as view from the balcony across the golf course was lovely.
Room service was every day but not to a great standard as our feet where quite dirty, and no towel change during the week, however beds made each day.
Food service good. The breakfast for 6 Euros was great, help yourself and as much as you like and the bar snack on the last day was also good value for money.
Reception staff most helpful and pleasant - no late room available but shower room offered at 30 minute slot of your choice and towels provided.
Welcome meeting was not very informative, just a way of selling trips. However courtesy bus was mentioned into las Americas /los Cristianos daily service, however taxis cheap and very reliable.
All in all a good week plenty of sun, however a few days cloudy but still warm plenty of sun loungers around pool area no need to reserve however most people did and didn’t show up until much later in afternoon, why?
Would definitely return and recommend to other with children, as entertainment for them was good from what I saw.
The holiday was fantastic.
Great bar, waiters friendly. Excellent Thomson team! Entertainers Laura & Anthony-both new did an amazing job & were so friendly! Katie & Alan were so helpful especially when it came to a family crisis!
Great rooms!
All worth the money & whatever negative comment below about Thomson I can say that they have new reps who are amazing & Katie the team leader smiles allot more than once in fact she rarely didn’t.

Firstly the Villa Mandy itself is great. The apartments and grounds are well kept and finished to a good standard.
The Spanish staff are also fantastic; especially reception and the maids who keep your rooms looking like your first day - towels changed daily and beds made up 5-Star.
As for the Reps only Tall Paul the entertainer seemed to be professional and knew what he was doing. We were told to advise of any problem however small so they could make our holiday special, but it was all empty promises.
Asked for more parasols to go with the ten bases found in a corner - response - take someone else’s! Said the pool was too cold - response - yeah but it not so bad once you're in! In the end I gave up asking.
The welcome meeting is a total waste of your holiday time. All the reps want to do is sell you over priced trips that you get book direct for much less.
They didn't tell us about the free shuttle bus that the villa runs to Los Cristianos and we only found out on our second week 70 Euro of taxis later!
Also didn't give out the Green Banana discount cards for 10% off in many bars etc.
Reps including Kids club were only interested in you if you took part in all of their activities and games - anyone else is excluded.
Everything is done for show with no real passion (excluding Paul). As for the 'leader' I only ever saw her smile once.
The supermarket is very overpriced; you can pay nearly 4 euro for an ice cream which is only 1.50 in the town!
Could be a really nice place to take a holiday if it were provided by another tour operator.
The plane journey was sub-contracted to Hola Airlines and was like a comedy - there was no film as the entertainment system didn't work either way (made it a long 4.5 hour flight trying to entertain the kids) and the plane was 'shabby' also two of my cases were damaged.
I've focused on the negative here but Villa Mandi itself really is good - Just badly let down by Thomsons.

Went 17-27 April. Excellent hotel with very helpful staff, which is more than can be said for the Thomson reps who didn't bother to show up for the welcome meeting.
A bit of a walk into Los Cristianos but not half hour more like fifteen minutes, we had our 6 year old girl with us who enjoyed the walk so no problem.
Taxi`s were cheap and arrived at the hotel within a couple of minutes.
The room was impressive with a sun balcony but the cooking area was a little small.
All in all a good holiday and would recommend the Villa Mandi, hope they develop the land across soon though.

The wife and I had a 4 night break here in late March 07. We wanted somewhere that was quiet in the day but within reach of Las Americas, Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos at night. That's exactly what we got. It is a long walk into each of the resort centres but we enjoyed the walk. I recommend you view the bird’s eye view of the area on Google Earth and work out the various ways of walking into town from the hotel. In a taxi, it's about 6 euro's from/to Los Cristianos, 7 euro's to las americas and 8 euro's to costa adeje (my favourite!). Taxi's arrive within a minute of asking for one at the hotel.
The rooms (we were in room 226 - a one bedroom room) were huge and extremely modern and clean. We had a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, hob, fridge, hairdryer and TV - all worked as expected. TV channels were all Spanish and German except for BBC world. Shower was very powerful and always hot but the reports are right about the frosted windows! Didn’t bother me though - let them look I say! Lots of wardrobe space but take some hangers with you - we had about 7 available in the room.
The hotel shop is expensive but has everything you need. Example, a 5 litre water is 1.90 euro's compared with 1,00 euro's everywhere else on the island! Exactly the same brand.
One night we came back from town about 10.00pm and the place was dead - no one in the bar and no disco, etc. I suppose this is a good thing really!
Most of our days were spent around the pool - One of them is heated and the other isn't - I will let you find out about that the hard way - It's fun! I thought I would be able to see the golf course but you can't see for all the trees/bushes. It is quiet around the pools except for the sound of birds and a waterfall - nice! Some of the grids around the main pool had come loose and needed attention; hopefully they will fix that before someone hurts themselves. We never had a problem getting sun beds even though the hotel was 100% full whilst we were there. Could do with more sun umberella's.
We asked for a late check out room but no rooms were available - instead we were offered a shower room for a 30 minute period (at a time of our liking) - This shower was just about OK but could be better.
Something I thought was a shame was the land across from the hotel - it looks like someone started to develop it then stopped! Roads are new but they don't go anywhere. If this 'waste' area was developed and lit, it would make the walk to los cristianos a lot easier!
Would we go back - Yes, we are about to book for the summer - this time with 2 year old daughter and my parents! They like walking too! My tip - find the cheapest flights to tenerife south and book the hotel through thomson. The taxi from airport to hotel takes 15 minutes (max.) and costs 25-30 euro's each way.

Villa Mandi was Fantastic!! I went for a week with my best girl mate!
The Apartment we stayed in was lovely!! Our apartment had a living area/kitchen (which had a fridge, micro wave, toaster kettle etc..), a bath room with bath, shower, double sink and toilet, a bedroom with to single beds together and a huge balcony! The maids came round everyday.
The Bathroom window is only 'frosted' glass, so you can see the person, or persons showing from the outside! Also I don’t think the floors weren't mopped in our apartment whilst we were there, because our feet became very dirty if we walked around the apartment with no shoes on.
There were two swimming pools on site, they had a bar, restaurant, games room, internet access, a mini super market, and a huge reception/lobby. The supper market was good but a little expensive, one day we went into Las Americas and brought food from one of the big supermarkets, it was a lot cheaper, but a lot further away.
We only ate in the restaurant once whilst we was there but it was a good meal. We spent most of our time in are apartments, by the pool, or out in las Americas and Los Cristianos.
It is about a 20-25 minute walk into either Las Americas or Los Critianos, Villa Mandi is in the center of both holiday resorts. We would go Las Americas one night then Los Cristianos the next! They both are nice to walk around, but me personaly enjoyed Las Americas the most. We didn't actually go in the sea or on the beach whilst we were there but if we did we would have prob got a taxi, as I wouldn’t want to carry everything there and back to visit the beach.
If you are young or just like a good night out, then I would go las Americas too, there are a few nice English bars there. But a few nights we walked into las Americas then got a taxi to Veronicas! Which is an area full of different kind of bars, mostly English run! You get loads of people coming up to you in the street, asking you to come to their bars, offering free shots, drinks etc... But it can be fun!
We spend most of our time and the Down Under bar!! Which was really good, they play mostly indie music, but you can request songs you would like to listen to. After the Down under bar had shut, we then went down to Tramps, and Rags, which are open till 6am the night morning!! But there is always a taxi near by for when you are ready to go back to your apartment, no waiting around for one, like in England!
We also booked a day out to loro park!! Which was a excellent place to go too, I would recommend it to everyone. But we paid 45 euros, we paid for it through Thompson, but if you go into the town, you could prob go for around 35 euros. That includes coach rides there and back!
If you like all animals this is the place to go. We saw all of the shows, which were dolphins, Whales, Sea lions and parrot shows. They were all fantastic; I enjoyed the killer whale show the best!
We also saw loads of different animals; they have a few different kinds of penguins there too, which they live in real snow!! It was fantastic! It would of been nice to spend a couple more hours there, and it was nearly a two hour journey on the coach, as it is on the other side of the Island.
Overall I had a Great time at Villa Mandi!! I would recommend it for everyone!! It was a lovely place to stay and very friendly!

Myself and my two girls - 12 and 4 - went to Villa Mandi in February half term. I have read the good reviews and don't think the accommodation was a good as the reviews state. My main complain is the position - it is a very long walk to the front even if you are physically fit. It takes slightly more than half hour to walk to the sea front (down hill) but the walk back is even harder. Taxis are between 4-6 euro each way. This soon adds up when popping out for breakfast/dinner. There is nothing in immediate vicinity although hotel has a perfectly adequate shop.
Food in hotel is not good. Bar snacks are just about passable (but only just) so I didn't venture to eating a main meal. They did not serve breakfast.
Crazy golf I thought was quite expensive-10 euro for myself and two girls for two hours.
Apartment was really clean and spacious however. We were up-graded to a two bedroom apartment free of charge. If covered two floors, had two bathrooms and a balcony and huge roof terrace. Whole apartments were very cleverly laid out and all looked to be well positioned and very nice.
The kitchen facilities I thought weren't very good however, as although apartment spacious, kitchen area tiny. There was a tiny space between hob and sink to put toaster or kettle (but both wouldn't fit) and that was the only place they could go as there was only on plug. Also no oven.
Cleaners I found to barely do their job although some people say they were fantastic. They barely made the bed and did not clean the floor or wipe down surfaces in kitchen area. There was a lot of cleaning going on outside around pool, childrens' play area etc. All of this was very clean.
Also, I found pool area a bit hemmed in. It looks in photographs to be more spacious than actually was and you had to be up early to get a bed. In fact the beds were actually empty for most of the day, but a lot of towels were laid out just in case their owners wanted to use them!
Reception staff very good. Very helpful and friendly and fantastic English.
My other complaint is, the way Thomson presented the hotel and the actual reality of the situation. Thomson's reviews refer to entertainment. There was no entertainment at all in February when we was there and I heard a few people complaining about this as they had read the web-site and reviews and thought there were kids clubs etc. There is absolutely nothing. Perhaps there is in summer months. Also, we were very much in the minority being English. About 90% and holiday makers were Scandanavian which caused problems for my children in trying to make friends.
All in all we had a very good holiday, lovely weather, some really good trips and have already booked my flights for next year, but definitely not for this hotel.
We enjoyed Villa Mandi so much...

We enjoyed Villa Mandi so much that we are returning there again this summer.
It was a beautiful hotel, looks exactly how it’s pictured in the brochure. The rooms are very spacious and modern with massive balconies.
The pools were lovely and the entertainment was the best I have ever witnessed. Our two kids had a whale of a time. They enjoyed the kids clubs and the fun and games that were on all day and all night.
Entertainment round the pool was always a scream and just when you thought you couldn’t laugh any more the evening entertainment in the disco bar was just fantastic.
A great family atmosphere is what you will get if you visit this hotel.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Jumpin Jodie and Jazzy James who were hilarious and worked so well together.
I do hope they are still there this summer, because it’s hard to imagine Villa Mandi without them.
