Just returned March 12th 2010. Very clean, food good staff hard working and friendly. Ask the lovley lady in the wellness centre to show you around,on your FIRST day. Not in anyway medical just magical. We only found it on our 11th day out of a 14night stay. Overhall very very good hotel. Would go again.

This hotel was great. We were in an excellent location just a 5 min walk to beach and irish centre. The wellness centre was amazing... I was here for 2 weeks with my boyfriend and we spent lots of time down there! The entertainment is shocking! The only bad thing I have to... more

great holiday at escorial
I'm just back from a weeks holiday at the Escorial and had to write my review. My advice to anyone thinking of going here is definately go and book this hotel. The hotel itself is lovely, nice big rooms,(we were on the 6th floor with views of the sea to one side and the hills to the other, the sun also worked its way round in the afternoon so it was nice to sit out with a drink before heading out at night and it was cool in the morning). The TV only had 2 english speaking channels, but who goes on holiday to watch telly anyway?? The... more
Excellent Hotel
Excellent hotel stayed for 7 nights. Good buffett breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hotel was full of Germans but hotel staff very friendly. Good wine at the bar and you can take wine to your room. Excellent all inclusive hotel with great wellness centre. more
first class
excellent hotel and very good value for the money paid, excellent food with wide choices, and usually very hot unlike some other hotel with buffet service, rooms spacious, and good sized balcony, the facilities in the basement area have to be seen to be believed, with amazing gym, indoor sea water pool, snooker, pool, 10 pin bowling, free internet access, card tables, sauna, entertainment is not something i stay in the hotel for as i always go out in the evening, but the all inclusive aspect at the bar is remarkable, inasmuch that you can... more
Great break
I recently spent a week at the Escorial with my family for my fathers birthday and had high expectations having read recent reviews, we weren’t disappointed. We paid £350 for our hol which proved great value for money. The Wellbeing centre is excellent as good as if not better than the Thermo spa in Bath, with various pools and treatments if required. The gym on site is well equipped and spacious with a good sized games room with bowling and internet. The food is good, with good variety there is a hot plate with a chef cooking meats and... more
A Great week at Escorial
We were impressed by the public areas of the hotel. The indoor pool was beautiful, but was available to children only between 9-11am, and is more of a spa than a swimming pool. The outdoor pool was chilly, but that's to be expected in March. It's only a few minutes to walk to the beach. The treatments in the Wellness Centre were excellent and reasonably priced. The food was plentiful and of a very good standard although, as usual, not great for vegetarians. The chocolate fountain was a great favourite with our family. The staff were helpful... more
Can't fault it
This is the first 7 day sunshine break we've had where we would both return. Our room was a ground floor family room - we are two 50+ers. Very spacious, very clean and french doors close to bar and pool. The pool was warm and sunbeds were easily available all day (no 6am bagging them). There are also sunbeds just away from the pool which are in the sun. Staff were friendly at all times. We were AI (£75 extra pp) and the food was plentiful and varied. In between meals pizza and chips served at bar (if you want it).<br... more
Good value for money
As others have said, this is a solid 3 star hotel with some added features. The roof-top terrace with jacuzi was great and overall no problems getting sun beds there or by the pool. The sun does move off pool area in the afternoon but there are also beds in the garden. The indoor pools are super although there was confusion over whether our teenagers could go in. One sign indicated youngsters uner 12 could go in bofore 11am implying open access above that age ut others signs indicated adults only after 11am. We had some fall out... more
Escorial Hotel Playa Del Ingles January 2008
I would recommend the Escorial as excellent value for money in an excellent location. This is rated as a 3 star hotel but has amenities and facilities well beyond this class of hotel. As well as a large gym, it also has a 'wellness centre' which only opened in 2007. This comprises of a hydrotherapy pool, a fantastic salt pool, saunas, steam rooms all free for hotel guests. Treatments such as massages etc could be booked but they had a charge as would be expected. The outdoor pool was a good size and there were plenty of sunbeds spread... more
more time needed at escorial
just returned on 02/11/2007. 6 days in this hotel are just not enough. wellness centre (gym, salt pool, hydro pool, steam room & sauna) were out of this world . bar staff were pleasant and service was quick. all inclusive drinks were international brands but you had to ask for them by name. tia maria and baileys had a charge of 2.50 euro but considering the size of measures we had no complaints. food was good and varied. rooms cleaned and linen & towels changed daily. in all we would have no problems recommending this hotel to anyone. more
excellent hotel
Having just returned from this woderful hotel I thought i would update the reviews available. We stayed for 10 days on an all inclusive package. We booked through travel republic and it was excellent value for money. The flights cost more then the hotel. There is inlimited food and drink all day and most of it is help yourself, no waiting to be served etc..The staff were helpful, friendly and very efficient, if you had any problems it was resolved that day. The hotel is fab, loads of facilities, lovely fresh water pool, games room with banks... more
