Corinthia Lisboa Hotel

Stayed at Corinthia Lisbon for 1 week in September 07 on business. Arrival scenario: room wasn't ready, so I was told (not asked...) to come back in 1 hour. Then was told at least another 20 minutes... After a 3 hour wait, the extremely unfriendly ladies at reception simply gave me the first room that was ready (because the one assigned to me still wasn't ready). That room was a sorry sight! I just returned from a 5-day break in beautiful Lisbon, so my memories are pretty fresh!. Great hotel, great great great (probably upgraded) room and great value for the money (60€ for a double room). Not really central but a nice walk from the city centre. If walking is not your thing, metro and bus are 50 metres away. Breakfast was not included in the price but Lisboa is full of pastelarias where you can eat their incredible Pasteis de Nata for almost nothing. My wife and I stayed one night due to a cancelled flight...we'd preferred to have stayed in the airport waiting area! The Corinthia is not a five star hotel. At best it's a mediocre four star. Dire food, major what sounded like excavation works (drilling/hammering) started early in the room above us. The hairdryer was located at a fixed wired in point about 10 feet from a mirror (obviously designed by men!). Pillows were the cheapest type and the bathroom needed to be refurbished badly. We stayed at the hotel for one week in the beginning of July 2007. Room located at 16th floor with a great view of the viaduct and the "Golden gate". The hotel itself and the reception area were very nice. The room was big and very well equipped! What more do you need in a hotel-room than a comfy bed, a great bathroom (with radio in the roof...and...eh...telephone at the toilet?), a TV, sofa with a table, some chairs, big closet for clothes and a desk? lovely hotel. Cream and brown decor in room very nice but no tea and coffee. Room on19th floor with great view of viaduct and 25th April bridge. Breakfast excellent with cereal, fresh fruit, full english, lots of cheeses and meats also latte coffee. Pool great but gym needs attention. no sauna or steam room. Located very near metro so all areas accessible at .75euro per journey. Had a great time in lisbon.

i did like this hotel, when i stayed (2006) it was brand new and very quite. the rooms were big and was more lik a 4star than a 5star however. The swimming pool was ok. as it was outdoor it was nice and fresh aired, however the pool was very deep, i am 6ft2 and could just about stand up in it! but at least it had a paddling pool for little kids which is good and unique to anywhere i have stayed. the food is fantastic at the hotel. we had dinner there when we arrived, and it was fantastic portuguse cuisine, highly recommended if you stay. the... more

We stayed here as part of a big conference and requested a larger room since we were coming with two small children. We were not disappointed and the room a corner one was a lovely size, with enough room even to entertain a toddler for some time. The staff were all extremely friendly and happy to cater to odd requests or needs for kiddy items. We used the babysitting while at the conference and the babysitter was great, the kids were really happy but the price was very expensive. I have been in Lisbon for the end of the year with my girlfriend. I found the Hotel beautiful and really confortable. I have received an upgrade for free to an executive room. I had reserved a standard room. I absolutely reccomend this 5 star hotel because it is near the Subway just 3 minutes walking and you are in the center of lisbon in 10 munutes. The Hotel is really clean, the service is perfect and the room (executive) are beautiful. Francesco (Italy)

The worst value of money I have ever experienced! A very bad experience!!! Far away from 5*. There wasn’t a TV set in the rooms. When I asked, they said that TV sets were finished!!!! They asked a deposit for the mini bar. We denied and they came with the most unpleasant way and they empted the mini bar making remarks! There wasn’t any hair dresser in the bathroom. When we asked for it they gave me one from the reception after 14 hours. Toilet was dirty. Towels in a 4 days stay were not changed once ! When we put them in the bathtub... more
