What a place!
Having stayed in various hotels of all grades around the world, my wife and I were really looking for a select hotel, somewhere away from the loud holiday scene, stunning setting and stunning location and we certainly found it here.
The hotel was a single storie structure, very tastefully decorated, the food was out of this world, the staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you.
The only let down was the complaining over weight Brits who had not taken the time to investigate the resort and couldn't understand why it was so quiet, it isn't that the resort is quiet just it was out of season and i suspect when the Italians begin to arrive the place will liven up.
I throughly recommend this as a relaxing get away with a nice blend of culture.

" My husband and I have spent two weeks... "

My husband and I have spent two weeks in this hotel and we loved it. It was so relaxing and the food was fantastic, everything you could wish for, for a nice relaxing holiday. The staff are very pleasant and helpful at all times. The rooms were nice, we had a standard room and this was enough for us, after all you do not go on holiday to spend time in your room.
This is not the type of place to come if you are looking for a Benidorm style holiday. Having experienced Vegas the year before, we were looking for a stylish relaxing holiday in a stunning location. It is very quiet but that is what some people prefer. It is nice to know there is not an Irish bar or karaoke bar near by, this is what adds to its charm.
A car would be advisable so you can see more of the island as there are no buses or public transport available. I would definitely book it before you go as it is very expensive when you are there to hire one.
The only downside was that a lot of British people complaining. They had obviously not looked into the resort before booking it.
This is definitely a place to go and relax, the scenery is stunning and there are a lot of nice walks along the beaches. We had a fantastic time and I would highly recommend it.

" We stayed in the Hotel Torreruja from... "

We stayed in the Hotel Torreruja from 31st May to 7th June 2008. The resort of Issola Rossa is extremly quiet, just three or 4 places to eat/drink and a few beach type tourist junk shops, most of which were shut during the time we stayed. The hotel itself was clean and the service we received was average, not really up to the reported 4 star rating. All spa treatments were extra as you would expect, however the indoor pool was included in this (22 euro's for half a day).
The hotel room can best be described as a cave, small and not a single window, don't be fooled by the pictures in the travel brochure. We would rate this hotel as a 3 star at absolute best. Very expensive for what you receive. We would not stay in this hotel again and warn anyone thinking of traveling to this resort to do your research before booking.
You will need a car for this resort, we reccomend a trip to Stintino. The beach here is the best we have seen in europe. We were there very early season, it gets busy with italian tourists during the summer so may not be quite as welcoming if you are going later.

The luxury villas were lovely and quiet and I would only stay in this hotel if you book one of them. The food was average to good depending on the day, but I would not have paid for lunch there if it hadn't been included in my booking; at 18 euros each it was very expensive for the choice (which reduced in food options dramatically on our last week as the season ended). Drinks etc are a little pricey but we expected this in Sardinia (coke 3 euros, small beer bottle 4-5 euros).
The beach was nice and only 10 mins walk from hotel. Village was okay, a few small shops and cafe restaurants.
Overall I wouldn't recommend it.
