Solid & Affordable Choice in Lisbom
from msquare
Stayed at the Novotel Lisboa for four nights after Christmas. -Stayed in a 'family room' which was a queen bed, with a pull-out sofa. The room was small, especially for a family room, but about average for European standards. -It was weird that the drapes covered the whole side of a wall, but the actual window was only 1/4 of it. -Nice, modern bathroom. There was no lock on the door. -Breakfast was 8 Euros per adult, which had a good selection of hot and cold foods. Kids 15 and under are free. -The price was lower...

Good modern hotel
from Elparaiso
Stayed here for four nights. Taxi from the airport was less than 10 euros (although strangely cost 15 going back). It is located with some other hotels and not much else, but the Metro at Praca de Espana is close by. Others have described going round the back of the hotel and under an underpass. I chose to go out the hotel, turn right across the bridge, then left before the theatre. It means crossing four sections of road at a busy roundabout but thats what the crossing points are for. I felt safe, whether it was rush hour or late at night....

Fantastic hotel, though quite commercial
from BeckyEngland
The Novotel is a beautifully presented hotel, with fantastic rooms, which had just been refurbished to a high standard when I stayed there. The flatscreen TVs in the rooms, the enormous beds and the beautiful bathrooms with a choice of showers over the bath were highlights! The breakfast was brilliant with a wide choice and lots of fresh fruit, the the staff were very helpful, and the level of cleanliness was very good. The only disapointment was the pool, which was not particularly big, and not particularly beautiful. That said,...

Lovely hotel
from Ciarsey
Stopped over in Lisbon for 2 nights on my way to Cape Verde and decided on this hotel as it was one of the few with an outdoor pool. Overall i was really happy with my choice. Staff were all very friendly especially the guys working at the bar. Although the one negative point was that they were very slow even when the bar was totally empty! The rooms were nice and big but as the last reviewer mentioned, the window was tiny with curtains all along the walls where you expect the rest of the window to be! Made the rooms darker than i would...

Fine, but............
from Capbrand
Fine but............ A bit too 'Open', almost like an airport, Bar area runs into Reception and the Wi Fi at 5 Euro an hour is a bit of a rip off, but then not run by the hotel, so they tell me. Use 1 minute of your Euro 5 hour, Log Off and your 59 minutes left is gone. They seem to have sockets for PC's in the rooms, but offer 'Loan of Modem', Dial UP in 2007? The Wi FI in the Bar Area, as above is intermittent, but to be fair to the hotel staff they say it's 'Old' and they intend to upgrade and run their own system...

2nd Stay in this Hotel
from STEVEFR
A return trip to Lisbon so I choose this Hotel again. It is great value and in a safe area. The hotel is not in the main toursit area of Lisbon, rather in a Business area with good transport links and fast access to the main part of central Lisbon. Taxi at EUR5 or Metro at .75 cents to central. There are a number of Hotels on this street and area so prices are competitive though not much night life which also keeps the area safer. To get to hotel from Airport on public transport involves airport bus or No45 to downtown then...

I liked it but there were some problems
from Clint_Swagger
Let me start by saying that I liked this hotel. The rooms were nice and large (bare in mind that it was being shared by 2 adults and 2 kids) and the air con was doing its job admirably. The breakfast was good with a wide variety of choices for 9 Euros per adult and the kids ate for free :-) There appeared to be ample parking beneath the hotel as well. Ok, now the downside. If you want to use the metro, you have to walk around the back of the hotel and then under a less than salubrious underpass. Fine during the day but not somewhere I'd...

Excellent, mostly. 4.5 stars.
from Broadens_the_mind
Very good hotel. Good value at 79 Euro incl breakfast, very helpful staff, decent breakfast, nice room, early check-in, all very good. Coupla not-so-good points: - No wifi or wired broadband in the room (though I managed to find some free network out the window intermittently) - I had prepaid but they tried to charge me again at checkout due to a mixup. Once I showed them the booking confirmation it was fine. Oh - don't eat at the 'Lusitana' restaurant down the hill. It's not good. I'd go back.
Sure thing. Nice staff.

Typical Novotel: nice, clean, modern and confortable. I really enjoy their accomodation's standards. And the staff at the front desk of this particular location was the most simpathetic we met in the trip. Congratulations on the Novotel Lisboa Jose Malhoa. I will certainly stay there when coming back to your charming city. Keep up with the good work!
