" This hotel is amazing, it is set in... "

This hotel is amazing, it is set in utterly beautiful surroundings within a private walled garden with a swimming pool in the centre. There is an indoor pool, sauna and gym as well and waiter service is available by the pool all day.

The hotel is about 10 minutes on a tram from the centre of Lisbon, or 5 minutes in a taxi. The palace itself is breathtaking, having been fully restored, you can wonder through the rooms or sit and have tea or drinks and relax in them taking in the grand surroundings. Breakfast is served in the main dining room or you can sit out on the terrace overlooking the garden.

There is a piano bar which you can relax in every evening with live piano music for 3 hours every night. We stayed for 2 nights in June, we ate in the restaurant in the hotel which was superb. It was a birthday celebration and the staff surprised us with a cake and a bottle of champagne on the house. It's one of Lisbon's best kept secrets.
