Ok...would come back
This hotel is okay and I would stay here again. Positives: nice rooftop pool, good breakfasts, decent sized rooms, good location in business district (lots of shops, cafes and restaurants close by) and only a short metro ride downtown. Negatives: bathroom could have been cleaner, pillows are very thin and lumpy, staff aren't the most helpful (we asked for more pillows and were told it was not possible!), taxis - we asked the receptionist to book us a taxi back to the airport and they booked us a private car service instead which... more
Rooftop pool a treat
Very good value for money. Rooms were reasonably spacious and clean, breakfast was ok and the staff was helpful and curteous. The rooftop pool, although quite small, was a total treat. It is located a couple of metro stations from areas like Barro Alto and Avenida Liberdad, but the metro was literally just around the corner. For a 3-star hotel I consider it highly recommendable.
hotel sana classic reno
A very nice hotel, the people there were friendly and helpful. the rooms were clean and breakfast was okay. The swimmingpool is rather small and the walls of the rooms were very thin; but that didn't bother that much. It's a little bit further from the center of lisbon, but you can get there easily by metro.
Good value
Good location and reasonable price. Few minutes walk to El Corte Ingles (big store with lots of eats open til midnight & home of metro station). Great roof top pool for when you're tired after seeing fabolous Lisbon. Clean rooms with a/c (I'd request non smoking if I was going again). Thumbs up.
Sana Classic Reno Hotel Lisboa
Use the private parking only if you have a small car and want to scratch the wings against the walls ! Otherwise, very good hotel, actually worth four stars. Small but enjoyable swimming pool. Very well located, close to Calouste-Gulbenkian Museum. Very clean hotel. Excellent price-quality ratio, warmly recommended !
Ok hotel
We stayed at this hotel for 1 week in 2003 together with friends, and found it quite OK. Weather was very hot - +47 C was the highest temperature we could see, but maybe it was even hotter! The hotel has AC in all rooms, and the rooftop pool was wonderful when we returned to the hotel in the afternoon for our siesta! Rooms were nice and clean in 03, not at all as described from the visitor from 04. Our room was in bright colors too. Close til the Gulbenkian Museum, and not far from the Metro, which took us downtown in a few minutes. We also... more
A nice hotel in Lisbon
We were very happy with the accommodation at this hotel. It was very clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good choice of food at breakfast, and it was all extremely fresh and well presented. The hotel is situated within five minutes walk from the metro station that takes you directly to the centre of Lisbon. The trains are fast and frequent and it takes only about ten minutes to get there. There is a large supermarket/shopping mall nearby where you can stock up on anything you need. I... more
Nice but in the wrong parts of Lisbon
I have only visited this hotel (without staying there) but I was curious to see how well it matched with the comments from this site. What I could see the hotel looks quite smart (eg the reception area is nice etc) and yes, there is a pool. The pool and the area around it are smaller than it looks on photos, and the view from the top isn't the most beutiful in Lisbon. But the biggest problem remains - it is not very central. Depending on what you are looking for, this hotel could be ok or really bad; the hotel is located in an area with quite... more
not very good
This is not a recommendable hotel by any means. The only thing that kept me from giving this hotel the lowest rating was that it was a good deal monetarily and its convenience in being close to the metro. To start off, the rooms in this hotel are dark and very small and they are on a very busy street with a lot of traffic and construction noise so it is very difficult to sleep. The pillows aren't pillows at all - they bags filled with a few cotton balls. The sheets are very thin and worn and the blankets seems extremely old. There isn't a... more
Reasonable Reno
Just got back from 3 nights in Lisbon (July 2003) where we stayed in the Sana Classic Reno Hotel. We were not expecting much a hotel costing 68 EUR per night B&B - but was a pleasant surprise. The plus points: Very clean, extremely friendly and helpful staff, good buffet breakfast and the all important rooftop pool (small but perfectly formed). On the downside: odd 70's style lounge/reception area (white leather, marble and leopard skin - what's that about?) and the location - bit off the main drag but a metro station is 5 minutes walk... more
