Dei Pini Hotel

Oh dear. We came to Sardina looking for a long weekend in the sun, on a nice beach, with some good food. We did not require any particular facilities other than a nice room and a nice beach so we thought Pini would be perfect. Overall it was a disappointing experience. The beach is very nice HOWEVER it is incredibly crowded, even the hotel's private section. Only stayed for 3 nights, but could have stayed much longer. Don't have kids and wasn't looking for entertainment, so this was perfect for our needs. Found all of the staff very friendly and helpful. The food wasn't fancy, but was perfect and although the menu was limited, it changed every day and we got to try 3 types of fish we'd never tried before. Dining facilities are limited, but if you don't fancy the formal dinning room, there were two snack bars and restaurant within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. Was wonderful stepping... more

This is a great choice for a relaxing vacation without the hassle of big resorts and elevators. The property is only 3 levels, as soon as you go out of your room you are already outside and only steps to the wonderfull beach. The location of this property couldn’t be better, gorgeous beach and ocean, nice room, excellent dining. We will stay at the dei Pini again and would recommend it to friends.

First point is that if you are looking for a hotel with a pool then this is not the one for you. When we stayed here in August, 12 families complained to Thomsons as they did not think the hotel was 4* quality and children were devasted with the lack of facilities provided and not being parents could not relax by the side of the pool keeping a watchful eye on their children as there were not any there! This hotel is in an excellent location but the food is average. You need a car as it is 8kms from other restaurants. A good family hotel but is is certainly not a 4 star hotel. I would not return in a hurry.

An Italian tourist standard hotel masquerading as four star. Ideal situation right on the beach but the service was lacking for this grade of hotel. No porterage thus families have to carry all their own luggage. Small rooms with smaller bathrooms although a small number of rooms do have a bath and larger facilities. Having spoken with many residents during our week there we found many not happy with the food being described by some as "canteen standard" and was not what we have previously experienced in four star accommodation.

Stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is situated right on the beach about a 15 min drive from the centre of Alghero. The bus service to Alghero from the hotel was very poor. so a car is a must if you want to enjoy Alghero town. ( E 45.00 Return taxi -if the bus does not turn up ) We found the beach at the hotel very good. Clean, good facilities, ideal for kids but the hotel itself is very average. I can’t believe it. What did they write? My girlfriend and I visited Hotel dei Pini in June and September 2K4. We've just came back from this amazing place and this is the nicest of the 4 hotels (four and fiver stars) we stayed last Summer in Alghero, Bosa and Castelsado. Food was excellent and the service too. Beach and water are veeeerrrry clean; you can see your toes in chest-deep water. You can snorkel and swim in an amazing water. We have stayed at this hotel twice, once in September 2004 and most recently for 3 nights in May 2005. We like the location of the hotel in a pine forest on the Le Bombarde beach which has lovely views of Alghero and provides a nice private haven and excellent swimming area. We booked via octopustravel and got a good deal of €339 for 3 nights for 2 people. We have just returned from The Hotel Dei Pini and had a good relaxing holiday. Not sure what the bungalows are like but the rooms in the hotel itself are just what you need (inc. a fridge) and are cleaned to an extremely high standard, with fresh towels and a freshly made bed every day! Children are made very welcome here and the entertainment staff are dancing with them until almost 10pm! We were lucky to be in a room not too far away from everything which meant our baby monitor worked - so our 15 month old could stick to her usual... more
