We stayed at the Villa Atlantis Beach in Perissa. We usually stay at Villa Roula with our friend Angel but, as we were getting married and we were taking our family out with us they selected Villa Atlantis Beach.
My Husband and I were quite concerned about the location of these apartments, they were quite a way out of Perissa on the beach road the centres a good 35 minutes walk. This was ok, but my husbands 80year old grandmother did find this a very long and dark walk. Also go in peak season, as the few tavernas that are nearest to you start to close as the season draws to an end thus you have even farther to walk, which we found out in our 2nd week.
There is a bus stop is not to far from the hotel, however the bus only uses this stop in the day bringing people from Fira and Ia to the beach. If you want to use the buses at night you have to walk up to the main road, about a 20 minutes walk.
The apartments were of a good standard and very clean, although the bathrooms are looking a bit tired now. And they had double beds!!! Quite unusual for Greece.
They had a lovely pool, but this was always freezing, it never seemed to warm at all, it wasn't even refreshing against the heat. The pool bar was very nice and the Indian gentleman that worked there (AJ) was lovely nothing was too much trouble. However, the pool bar never seemed to be open in the evening, so you had to make your own entertainment! This was ok for my husband and I as this was our 3rd time in Perissa and have made good friends over the years, Angel even used to give us a lift back to the accommodation at night as he knew it was a long walk back.
All in all though if its peace and quiet you want, you'll get it here, right on the beach front.
There is a taverna next door Charlina's which is cheap and has a good variety on the menu, and a another one about 10minutes walk away. There’s a small mini market about 10 minutes away for odds and ends. But best to use the Big Supermarket on the main road which has a 24hr Bakery next door again about a 20 minute walk.
The only thing letting the accommodation down was its location, just that little bit too far out.

The hotel was lovely, and perfectly placed for our first stay in Santorini, a short walk along the road led to lots of restaurants and bars, all with great choices of food and drink, the beach was just across the road, the hotel bar did daytime and evening snacks and the prices were reasonable
We had a balcony where we could sit in the sun and eat breakfast. Rooms are air conditioned. The pool was lovely and there is a small children’s pool as well. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. We hired transport so the supermarket runs were quick and easy - only a few minutes away, the prices for hiring vehicles is very reasonable.
This hotel is a great base to explore this beautiful Island. Thomson did some good trips, try the sunset cruise, worth every penny. Not to be missed seriously, an experience you will never forget.
