" Just returned from a 10 night stay... "
Submitted By: Mrs P
Just returned from a 10 night stay with my Husband and 2 year old in this hotel.
Officially a 3 star, I was really impressed, it was spotless, and everything from garden to pool was well maintained to high standards.
We had a 1 bedroom apt (in the II building) which I felt was a good size with substantial clothes storage with hangers. Hairdryer in bathroom, good sized sitting area including dining area. Kitchen very basic, 2 ring hob, an electric kettle but no toaster or microwave, it done the job for the odd breakfast & lunch, sat television but only 2 British, BBC news 24 and Eurosport, balcony faced onto entertainment /pool area and has a table and 4 chairs on it.
Maid service every day except Tues. & Thurs., towels changed everyday day.
Didn't eat dinner in hotel but food looked good and dinner approx.12 euro per person for eat all you want buffet/ BBQ. Lunch snacks were good at pool bar. 3 play parks for children especially good for toddlers with sandpits n swings etc.
Nice pools but a bit cold but okay once you’re in (one especially was ideal for my 2 year old as he was able to stand with the water only coming up to 70 cm at deepest), good on site big supermarket and kids/adults entertainment every night incl. a game of Bingo .
Access in hotel area was good for buggies /wheelchairs. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to families with young children and people with walking difficulties.
However the only slight downfall was it was 99% German and catered towards them although there was always an English translation but this didn't bother us too much, but may bother some people so I’d thought id mention it.
Hotel was at the Cala Bona side of Cala Millor which personally I preferred as you can walk into both resorts and it is situated one block back from fantastic long promenade , great location if you enjoy an evening stroll or cycle (as you can rent bikes/ roller blades on the front).
Beach is stunning with golden sand and kept very clean with showers dotted along it.
As for the resort as I mentioned before, the visitors are mostly German , but a good resort for young families, a ride on the open top Safari bus to the safari Zoo is a must for the kids. Not impressed with Glass bottom boat ride as was sold to us as a pirate adventure with entertainment for children and there was none.
All in all I would definitely go back to both the hotel and resort.

" Our time at Marins Playa Aparthotel... "

Our time at Marins Playa Aparthotel from start to finish was a great and relaxing holiday, being disabled and in a wheelchair all the time it was important that we could get anywhere. It was well arranged and accesses to all areas were ramped and easy to get to.

What I liked about the dining room was that the hotel had arranged the disabled table placed very near to all the counters and easy to access. The staff and management were extremely helpful I have no hesitation in recommending the Marins Playa Aparthotel to a disabled person.

There is an excellent pool with plenty of sun loungers. However, this is a predominantly German holiday complex (so plenty of towels out first thing). There is no English rep but the reception staff were very helpful and we booked our excursion through them. One receptionist is English so no problems there.
Most nights have live entertainment starting at 21.00hrs which was most enjoyable.
This complex is between the 2 resorts of Cala Bona and Cala Millor. Both are only 10 minutes walk. Cala Millor has the best shops set in a traffic free zone. Eating out is very reasonable. A typical main course would be about 7 euros plus drinks.
We would certainly go back to this Apartment hotel and would recommend it to couples and families.
