Very good hotel. Friendly staff. But its a good 30 minute walk to tsilivi town and beach.
Taxi's cost 5 euro each way so if you are less mobile this is one to miss.

Sep 2008, Mr SJ Sinisa

We (2 adults, 2 yrs old daughter) were there 2 weeks. Hotel is very nice and clean, staff is very nice and helpfull, but our biggest problem were 2km to the beach and to the town center (measured with a car). It is not "few moments from the beach" as stated at tour operater, or at hotels web site:
"within a few moments walking from the nearest beach and the busy centre of Tsilivi"
Those are DEFINITELY NOT a few moments walking from the nearest beach!
If we knew this we would never book Filoxenia Hotel. For people who just want to enjoy on the sun and around the pool, we can recommend Filoxenia, but for other who wants to enjoy lovely Tsilivi beach we would not recommend it.

We are heading to stay at the Filoxenia again this year, we have stayed there on two occassions previously. We had no trouble staying here previously. It was both clean and sufficiently sized. The staff are friendly. The only downfall was that there are no paths on part of the roads for walking down to the town, hopefully this will be better this year as they were working on it the last time we were there.
Best thing for us about this hotel is the location, for some it might be a bit out of the way but for us it was closest to our favourite bar, Sandra's bar and our favourite restaurante Valentina's Castle ;-) its a nice walk down through the town to the beach in morning and sometimes to stop for a a spot of brekkie in Sandra's as they have the best brekkie, free range eggs, fresh tomatoes grown by the Costas, yum. and then at least at night you are a stone throw away from the apartments after going out ;-)
Sandra and Costas are very welcoming and its good crack in their bar, they have some list of cocktails and they are the business.
Valentina's has the best fish dishes and a great BBQ for the none fish lovers so check it out.
Tsilivi beach is lovely, it has great watersports and Moby Dicks on the beach is great for lunch, with its own little play park for the kids and then free sunbeds if you eat there so check there out too.
Looking forward to heading back there this year very shortly ;-) plus this year we have our two year old with us and if you have kids there is lots to do, Crazy Golf, Waterpark, Reptile house, and lots of playparks around......go visit

Jul 2008, Mrs L.O.S O''Sullivan

When we (husband, teenage daughter and myself)first arrived a woman from reception led us to our 2 bed apartment which we were dissapointed to find was on ground floor when we specifically asked would be 2nd or 3rd floor.my husband went to reception and raised this to a member of staff he was simply told 'il see what I can do'.we looked around the apartment to find it was infested with mosquitos, the door leading to the balcony was jammed,no cold water came out of the kitchen sink and the air conditioning wouldn't work.we once again raised this at reception and were told that we could move the next morning which we did! we were happy to find that this apatment was of much higher class. There was 2 lovely spacious, quiet, warm swiming pools which my daughter loved.the mini market was of standard ,good selection of sweets but not many healthy choices for me.the town is fabulous with tons of great bars, restaurants and cafes. Our favourite of which were Moby Dicks and Trenta Nova both beside beach. we would reccomend doing crazy golf, going on the jeep safari and the sunkissed cruise however I would not recomend traveling to the greek night as it takes a long time to get there and there is a fantastic one held at the resort, there is also karaoke bingo and quiz night which were good although they do not always start on time. the cleaning services were great maids very nice came everyday changed towels and bed & washed floors.there wasnt a great amount to entertain my daughter with their was a pool table and an internet which was down for 10 days out of the 2 weeks, but it didnt take long for her to make friends

overall I would say go here, give it a go we enjoyed it ,it takes time to get used to

Jul 2008, Mrs D Dunning

My husband and I have just returned from the Filoxenia and we had a wonderful holiday. The accommodation was very good, with equipment for self catering in a compact area to a high standard. The staff were excellent and really friendly, from the cleaning staff through to the shop, bar, resaurant and reception. The two pools & sun terraces were cleaned and left spotless every morning, as was the apartment. We felt that sunbed mattresses though should be free and these were charged at 2euros a day each. This was not the case at other hotel pools we noticed on our walk to the beach.
The only fault was with the official hotel description of its location, "within a few moments walking from the nearest beach". The "few moments" in truth was a 3km+ walk taking around 25/30 minutes, although no hills were involved, in the heat still generating around 5.30pm the return from the beach was draining. We used a taxi especially in the second week when the temperature rose to 42c +!
The selection of Tavernas was excellent, although you needed to go back into the main Tsilivi village (20/25 minutes walk). Valentinas Castle, The Olive Tree, The Family Taverna, Athaena and Benikos were our favourites. We found the resort very clean and well kept and will certainly come back for another holiday.

My partner and I recently returned from a holiday in Zakynthos. Our accommodation was the above mentioned Felixionia Hotel/apartment/studios. The studios are spotlessly clean and house keeping staff are most courteous especially if you try to exchange a few pleasantries with them. i.e. kali-may-ra(good morning) Kali-spare-a (good evening) Kale-nichta!! (good night) just the basics.!
Although the studios are usually mentioned as basic they have all of the necessary amenities except for a hairdryer! Thankfully I brought my own along with a plug in oil filter device to prevent mosquito attack! Plug it in on arrival, it will make your stay quite comfortable as opposed to venturing without. I also recommend air conditioning if the temperatures are high. Rooms are spacious and cool with big balconies but sometimes very hot!! If you go to the bar, please be advised to watch your change from the young bar man who entertains you with "magic". He goes by the name of Adonis but in actual fact his name is quite different considering he comes from Lithuania. (Adonis was in fact a Greek God) You have been warned!! Otherwise our stay was wonderful.
The walk to the beach is in fact a good 20minutes while the walk to the resort is 10 to 15 minutes depending on where you are going. Horse and cart are €10.00 while a taxi is €5.00 to and from the resort. Exiting the Hotel the resort is to your left!! Some restaurants I recommend would be Koukos a Greek restaurant and if you hit it on a Greek night you are in for a treat. Especially good also was Valentina's castle quite close to the Felixonia. The lamb from the spit in the latter is delicious and the hosts are wonderful and family friendly although we do not have children. We were so impressed with Valentinas that we returned again on two occasions. Try the house wines, they are reasonably priced and quite palatable. If hot the white is the trick with lots of water mind you.!!! Enjoy, I will return!!
P.S. rent a car, the driving is grand and the Island is magical with lots of hidden treasures waiting to be explored. Keri beach is particularly worth a visit along with the village of Volumes, the blue caves (in a small boat 2person or 6 max) Take this from one of the coves on the way to the village of St Nicholas and not the village itself. Beware of airport prices en route home so bring your own food and water. The duty free is pretty good though. Yamas

The apartments are lovely and are maintained well. The staff are very helpful and friendly especially Freddie the night porter and Anthony the bar man.
I had a lovely holiday there and would love to return.
However a word of warning, delays going to and from Zante airport are a nightmare.
I do not know if they have finished building the new terminal but I experienced 4 hour delay getting there and 7 on the way back.
The airport is primitive and there are not nearly enough seats. We ended up waiting outside for 3 hours. Make sure you bring a packed lunch with you as the food in the airport is horrible and costs a fortune.
Other than the actual nightmare of travelling there and back I would recommend these apartments to anyone!!

May 2005, Mrs S Peevor

The hotel itself was lovely, our studio was cleaned every day but Sunday. The bed linen was changed every 3 or so days. The pool area was very clean and well looked after. The reception area was also very tidy and there was a television and quite a few sofas in that area.
The snack bar area offered enough food variety for most people. The only downside was when there were Greek nights because it was very very noisy, the dancing and music took place right next to the pool and all studios etc surrounded that area.
Our studio was on the ground floor overlooking the pool but unfortunately there was so much greenery outside our terrace that we could not see much of the pool area.
It was about a ten minute walk to the resort and the beach. There are many restaurants, Chinese, Indian, Greek, etc to choose from. There were all the usual amenities a chemist , supermarkets , tourist shops.
