My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We booked to go and stay at the Atlantic palace hotel in Sorrento. We had a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room. We arrived about 9.30pm and had a lovely meal in the restaurant. The room was spacious and very clean. And cleaned each day.
The restaurant was lovely, excellent food and service. We would normally book self catering as we like to try different restaurants. But as the food was so good we only ate out once. On the Wednesday was gala eve with free champagne and again excellent food.
The staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. A shuttle bus to take you down to the main town was also provided. The pool area was not large but plenty of room to sunbathe. The waiters were very friendly and service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will definitely go back. Hopefully soon!

We have just returned from the Atlantic Palace and had a really lovely time there. The staff were very friendly and made a real effort to make our 11-yr old daughter welcome. Everywhere was clean and tidy, the pool was cleaned every morning, the rooms were clean and the decor was good.
The restaurant put on a different four course menu every night and there were six choices of starters and mains that were not repeated all week. For the Italian festival "Ferragusto", they moved the entire restaurant outside for a candlelit buffet, followed by live music by the poolside! I was really impressed by the amount of effort put in by all the restaurant staff for this celebration night.
There is a regular bus in to the town centre that stops outside the hotel door. On the whole - no complaints whatsoever and thank you Atlantic Palace!

Bad start to the holiday as this was not the hotel of our choice. We were sent here as the Nastro Azzurro had double booked more than 20 people.
It indicates 4* but it clearly is not. On arrival in our room, one bulb did not work and it was not replaced until the next day. We were provided with frayed bath towels with holes in them on several occasions. The bathroom floor was grubby with slapdash paintwork on the walls and a tile in the bedroom was cracked.
The air conditioning units were incredibly noisy and when we asked for someone to fix it (twice) they said they couldn't, even though we were kept awake at night by the noise of the unit and the rattling of our balcony doors as they vibrated. Our door key was bent and cracked and we were given a new one, but it would not lock the door from inside.
We had to wedge a chair under the door knob to ensure nobody could enter our room whilst we slept. The chairs in the dining room were stained and grubby. The outside paintwork at the side and back of the hotel was flaking, the metalwork rusting and the roof was used as a storage area for timber and other building materials, though there was no sign indicating it might be hazardous to use the roof. We have photos showing all these details.
The position of the hotel - slightly out of town - would have been ok but it is on the roadside with no gardens. A campsite is directly opposite. There are no pavements so it is dangerous to walk anywhere. The hotel did provide a free five-minute bus service into Sorrento, but anyone expecting to take a walk after dinner will be disappointed.
Staff were mostly polite and nice and service in the dining room was fine. I enjoyed the food but the selection available for starter and main course was not wide enough. We were very disappointed that ice cream was never offered, but deserts were excellent.
All in all the hotel needs a complete refurbishment to bring it up to 4* standard. We think it is probably fair to attribute 3*

Mr Grady must have stopped in a totally different hotel. Rooms were excellent, beds were comfortable.
Food was 100% but I'd recommend giving the gala nights a miss. True about the swimming pool but you’re on holiday and little silly things do not matter. I've been twice now and enjoyed it on both occasions. Staff are friendly and polite and willing to help with anything. Going there again this year.
Mr Grady seems like one of them people who has nothing better to do than moan about anything. In the end you get what you pay for, with the Atlantic Palace that is Honest Quality Service. Check out the video clip!

We have enjoyed 2 visits to the Atlantic Palace Hotel. We found the staff friendly and helpful and the food very nice.
The swimming pool is not clearly marked on the steps and deep end and there weren't enough sunbeds but the accommodation is comfortable and the hotel is not far from the town which makes it convenient for shops and the harbour.
The road to town is a little dangerous and we would recommend the hotel bus which runs several times per day. We look forward to going back again in the future.

What a joke 4* hotel!!. It was a disgrace. It is run down, dirty and shabby. The food was no better. Lots of reconstituted meat roll and frozen fish masquerading as various dishes, but completely inedible. The coffee deserves a special mention as being totally undrinkable. The common areas were badly kept and dirty. The bedrooms in the main building were very worn and dirty. The beds were camp beds and the bedding damp even in the height of summer. The management was abusive and rude. How Thomson can sell this as a 4*/4T hotel is beyond me. Do not go near - it should have a health warning.

Just been there too. Seemed clean on first inspection but wasn't. Bathroom and bedroom only cleaned down the centre! Under the beds and around the sink and toilet were seriously dirty and we contemplated not even leaving a tip.
The food was diabolical; okay plenty of selection but a selection of what? My girlfriend ordered Ham on the first night which turned out to be SPAM in gloopy sauce. The second night was even worse with mash (SMASH) and over cooked tin pea's. It was an ordeal each and every night.
Waiters were great as were rest off the staff. We are well travelled and far from moaners, but this hotel needs to take a look at itself. It is no where near a four star. Would never use again.
