Food for dinner at the Panorama Hotel was quite varied although it was noticeable very little of it was freshly prepared. For example the fruit salad was invariably of the tinned variety, the veg (including potatoes) was pre-prepared and even the meat was not freshly carved but of the pre-packed variety (similar to a Bird's Eye roast beef type dinner). Breakfast was exactly the same every morning, processed ham and cheese with bread & criossants etc. I do not think a 4 star hotel should be serving such fare.
Hotel was very clean and service efficient and friendly.
As for the resort, it is delightful, of a nice size, not too big and bustling like Sorrento. Ideal spot for excursions. However, I was suspicious that bars and restaurants did not have prices displayed. Often, when paying a bill in a bar the assistant would ask the owner/manager what to charge suggesting tourists/foreigners paid different rates to Italians and I was not the only one to feel we were being ripped off. Also, as all signs etc were in Italian only, the Maiori area needs to decide whether it really wants foreign tourists or Italian holidaymakers only.
