The Best and Most Hospitable Quality

We have just got back from a 2 week break at this hotel. What can we say as seasoned travellers, we have stayed in quite a few Turkish hotels in various locations. The pictures really do not do justice to the breathtaking location, surrounded by forest and mountains which tempted us to paragliding at more than 8 thousand feet, amazing! We booked with Thompson as we wanted safety reassurance, but had we booked directly with the same company skysports.com we would have saved more than £30 each so could have had more to spend in the Turkish economy instead - look around town you can get excursions so much cheaper. Thompsons thats really naughty!
The hotel is contemporary not typically turkish, very clean and modern, with tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a hairdryer that works. The brochure pics are true in this case.
Plasma screen TV although a nice feature we did not really use as we were out enjoying the outdoors so much, sailing, horseriding and as already mentioned paragliding. Only wish we had more time to dive as well.
We took the free shuttle bus to the private beach and it was private, so if you wish to go topless to fill those white marks get yourself on that free bus to the beach, take some water with you and a high sunfactor it gets really hot with very little breeze or waves.
The hotel is located within easy walking distance to town the prices are reasonable if compared to Fethye shop locally for the best deals, we also took advantage of the hairdressers and restaurants even though we had all inclusive. Really good deals in the many hairdressers for half a head of highlights only £20! We spent the grand sum of £40 for both of us, highlights (her) haircuts and blow dried (him and her) and a turkish shave (him).
Oh we also booked the Thompson Turkish Hammam, again we paid well over the local prices, Green Forest you need to get more competitive with promoting your in house Spa we missed this opportunity and were told far too late, get somepromotional materials in the hotels rooms with some welcome offers.
The hotel staff were extremely professional, not at all pushy and always on hand to lend assistance when asked (I really liked their professionalisim, they were not typically over familiar you know the touch feely we are used to in the more touristy areas of Turkey).
Now down to the food.... whilst we were there some large groups complained about the lack of chips, you know typical english food....This really did make us cross (for great british traditional food go to Benidorm!).
The food was always freshly cooked, the chefs (deserved their tip) keen to please all tastes supplied omeletes and eggs to order in the morning and in the evening, freshly cooked bread, pizzas, pasta as well as the grill. What more could you really want, yes the food was authentically turkish, even better kebabs that you can get in the high street in the UK! I really hope this hotel does not lose its quality status by bowing the the minority fish and chip english culture - learn some lessons from the Spanish and retain your turkish culture.
We were really surprised that all the guests were British, so we did see some of the worst british cult behaviour whish I am afraid made us shy away from the night life in the hotel - if we want to club with clans from Manchester we can get really good deals in the UK for boozy weekends, its not our thing so we dont do this. Instead we like to enjoy mixing with different cultures which is why we travel to destinations such as Turkey as I am sure other nationalities enjoy as well.
The roooms were cleaned very day, the hotel itself is immaculate.
The only negative we found was the pool, great size but so cold, maybe a little heating would help to take the edge off. I usually like to have an early morning swim, having read the reports I knew the morning swim would be a risk and wasn't sure if it had a well equipped gym in its place so ended up taking my DVD player with workout DVD's to take morning exercise. Green Forest get some good pics of activites such as spa, gym and aerobics for us health freaks, even consider linking with horseriding and other providers to enjoy outdoors inthe mountains as a good business opportunity.
Anyway the test for us is would we go again?
Most definately we would, But.....a bit nervous about the creation of a little Britain we will watch the reviews with interest.

For out first time in Turkey this was a lovely hotel. The location was excellent within a few minutes of the main part of Hisaronu. The staff were always friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious and well maintained, the towels were changed daily, bed linen every other day.
The food was ok, but ate out a few times during our stay to vary menu as was always of a similar theme.
The bar area let the hotel down as it was small and catered for mainly outdoor use and this time of year can be quite chilly in the evenings, so you found yourself quashed into a small area.
The spa centre was a nice touch and used it for a manicure, pedicure and a wash and blow dry, so its somewhere to really pamper yourself.

Arrived early hours of the morning to be greeted by smiling reception staff, cases carried to room and sandwiches in fridge (nice touch). Room spotless and comfortable. Food excellent and plentiful although not much available if you are taking young children, also if you intend to go around May take something warm for the evenings as it gets very chilly and be prepared for the occasional thunderstorm we had a couple and the last couple of days (7 day holiday) were cloudy.Entertainment team did their best despite the weather. Pool a bit on the chilly side and quite deep so watch out for younger children using it. Staff all work very hard and extremely pleasant. One thing the place needs is some seating area for evening the poolside bar isn't big enough or warm enough to accomodate everyone although the English Pub may be open in high season when the weather is warmer. Overall a very nice place would go back.

Food not too good

Hotelwas great, reasonable room, close enough to village to walk to. Staff were very friendly and pleasant. Nice area. We enjoyed the week, apart from the Sunday trip to Gocek Market (with Carol & Tayfan) we were collected from the hotel by minibus, on Sunday 16th May 2010 the driver went over the speed bumps at a ridiculous speed, badly injuring several members of our party. When I complained, I was told that the driver was not familiar with the area..... Was anyone else on the minibus - did you suffer any injury? If so, please get in touch with me. [---]. The market wasn't even worth - the trip took hours on a boat whose loo was not working.

The management and staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. WE arrived in the early hours of the morning and on booking in were informed that they had put sandwiches and drinks in our room, that was a nice start and the service continued to that standard the entire holiday. I really enjoyed my stay.

I dont know where the other people stayed but I have been to turkey 5 times and this was the best hotel ever, food was great. I have been to various places in the world and no where matches this. Dishes/glasses spotless. Food great choice have to watch your weight, staff very polite. Entertainment good - Bloody Erol tries to get all the staid brits into action. If you have any complaints speak to Sonia who is English and will pass on to Dideem (Management). Will be back next year. Weather could have been better but spectacular thunder and lightening.
Only complaint is the Brits who dont care about anyone else and stand out side your door gassing at all hours or slam the doors about 50 times a night.

This was our 6th time in Hisaronu and by far the best hotel we have stayed in.
The pool was always clean with plenty of sun loungers, the staff were polite and friendly (but not over-the-top as we have seen in other hotels) and the rooms were clean.
The food was amazing, I am a vegetarian and in the past have had quite a limited choice of food (bread, cheese and chips most days!) but at the Green Forest I was spoilt for choice most meal times without having to resort to salad. (For meat eaters there was tonnes of choice too). And if you did fancy a change there was also a snack bar served from 12 - 4 which did pizzas, burgers etc
Or if you wanted a special treat there was a lovely lady who made fresh pancakes in the afternoon :o)
I am a little confused by some of the bad reviews about this hotel as overall this is a lovely hotel, we had no problems at all and would definately go there again.

The rooms were basic but clean, and the linen and towels were change regularly.
Bar staff and entertainment staff were brilliant, we had a good laugh with all of them and they made the holiday.
The location was excellant and only a short walk to all the bars and shops.
On the down side the food was not brilliant and a bit more variety especially of some good old british food apart from chips would have gone down well. Being as a majority were british that were staying there. There was no choice of food for small children i.e chicken nuggets, burgers or sausages.
Breakfasts were disapointing also.
There were a lot of flies in the restaurant, and I don't think this helped with our upset stomachs there were 6 adults in our group and we all suffered with upset stomachs, which lasted for at least 3 days.
Overall would use the hotel again but would certainly watch what I ate.

Do Note Stay at This Hotel : Food was really bad and staff were so rude

My husband and I stayed at the green forest hotel for 1 week at the beginning of August 2010. The room was basic but clean and the air con was new quite new so that worked well. After day 2 I had asked reception for a plug so that my husband could have a shave, at least 4 times (by this time I gave up asking because the reception staff were either rude or did not and did not want to understand). On the evening of day 2 I found a dead fly in my food (it had not flown in there it was already in the rice which was out on the servery)when I showed a member of staff she just shrugged her shoulders and took my plate of me BUT THEY DID NOT REMOVE THE RICE FROM THE SERVERY and just let other people carry on eating it. During the week I heard of 8 other people who were ill with sickness and food poisoning. My husband was in bed for nearly 2 days with food poisoning and did not really eat much for the rest of the holiday. The resturant staff could not understand english and were very rude (i had my table cleared away on 3 different occasions when i had only gone to the toilet or for more bread for my soup). The choice of food was disgusting everyday i only had toast and fried egg for breakfast. YOU HAD TO PAY FOR ORANGE JUICE FOR BREAKFAST (the hotel is supposed to be all inclusive). For lunch all I had was soup and dinner was chips, rice, bread and fruit. There was no meat which was edible the turkey was out for 3 days in a run, the chicken did not taste like chicken and when I asked a member of staff what meat was the 'meat kebab' they said its just meat I dunno what it is. The choice of alcoholic drinks was really bad : beer, cheap vodka or whiskey and some sort of archers and lemonade. If you want to buy anything within the hotel ie: a newspaper or anything from the shop, a turkish bath (this is advertised as free though it costs £20) or any other treatment, a hair cut or even a photo from the hotels photographer then you MUST PAY CASH for it there and then. I have never stayed in a hotel where you cant put items on your room bill and pay for them all at once when you check out. (how stupid is this) You have to get up early to get a sunbed by the pool cause they all get saved from 7am (even though some of them were not getting used until 2pm). From day 3 the toilet broke and would not flush this kept braking and they offered to give us a new room ON OUR LAST DAY (what a joke). In a nutshell if more British people would complain I dont think there would be any British people in this hotel bad health and safety may be ok for other countries but not us English. Bad hotel, very bad service, very bad food and drink and rubbish entertainment. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!.
Turkey itself has got so expensive this is no longer a cheap holiday destination. It is very hot during August mostly over 45 degrees, petrol is nearly " a litre and care hire is an average of £45 per day (though it is advertised much cheaper, as a lot of things in turkey are) and most of the sights (there are not many) are at least one or two hours drive away or a full day if you book a tour and go on a coach. I would not recommend this hotel or Turkey to anyone, the money my husband and I spent in Turkey (including getting there) we could have gone to the carribean all inclusive fot 2 weeks
