would not recommend the apartments ,as they are very basic and downmarket.
Kitchen very basic breakfast for a family of four had to cooked individually, as frying pan was too small. This took alot of our time up when we could have been doing other things
1 stained sheets yellow streaks on sheets
2 no air con very hot espically at night
3 ants invasion all over bins
3 insect bites by the score
4 towels old and stained
5 beds unsafe and stained matresses
6 little to no sleep due to outside noise Had to keep winodowa open as it was too hot to close them at night

Went to the Don Pedro last year and...

Jun 2008, Miss E IRVINE

Went to the Don Pedro last year and it totally ruined what would have been a fantastic holiday.......Cala Millor was great, the DP was anything but!! No lifts, no air- con, no food the bar was half stocked, this is no place to stay and holiday. The whole time that we stayed we stayed away from our accommodation only returning to wash and change and sleep (well tried to sleep) the heat in the appartments was unbearable and the noise from the busy road outside was like music to my ears (morning and night)
The only positive thing l could honestly say about the DP was when we got into our departing taxi and closed the doors and waved it goodbye.
On a more positive note my family and l will be returning to Cal Millor as this was a fantastic resort and this time we know were we will be staying.

Stayed at the Don Pedro Apartments...

Stayed at the Don Pedro Apartments with family (my wife, son 13 and daughter 9) in August 2007 and had a great time. We booked last minute so weren't expecting luxury, but then it did state 2 star.
The rooms were very basis, no aircon but plenty of fans available at good rental rates in addition to the one provided.
Rooms were very clean and maintained almost daily.
Downside, it was on a fairly busy main road and could be noisy at night and early in morning but nothing a few extra drinks didn't cure. The bar/cafe attached to the apartments (independent from the apartments I think) was very Spanish, which we like, and friendly. Food certainly Spanish but relatively cheap.
Definite upside was the pool area. Clean and never a problem getting a sun bed and no excessive noise. It could be a bit cold first thing but it certainly woke you up. No lifeguard and deep end is "deep”! Keep your eye on the little 'uns.
No pool table or table tennis which disappointed my son but in the main bars they have plenty of pool tables.
Location (apart from noisy road) is good. A short walk (5 mins) to the beach, which was superb and the same to the shops and bars. The area around Don Pedro is quite German, so if you want British turn left out of the apartments and then right at the end of the road. Loads of Brit bars. For a laugh and karaoke (if you like the "Blackpool" atmosphere) try the British Bulldog and The Rose & Crown.
Overall, a nice place. We wouldn't go back as we don't like returning to places, it never seems the same second time round.
If you have booked, don't worry it is OK. It's just not the "Ritz", that's opposite, a fancy place called the "Said".
One last tip, get one of the Brit bars to order your taxi back to the airport. We got the landlord of Cheers bar to book ours. A retired ex-pat only charged us 50 euros.
Not sure about the comments made by another reviewer about watching your wallet. We certainly never felt any such vibs. The maid even found our safety deposit key and returned it to us personally.

Just back from Don Pedro Apartments...

Just back from Don Pedro Apartments with my 2 teenage girls. We found these apartments ok. They had everything we expected from a 2 star apartments. They were very clean (it felt like the maids were in nearly everyday), with clean sheets and towels. We went self catering and although the kitchenette was very small we coped ok. There was a big supermarket about 5 minutes down the road so there was no need to go far for anything.
The best bit for us was being able to go to the pool and not have to fight for a sunbed. It did not matter what time of day it was it was never full. At night time you never heard anybody. Unfortunately these apartments are on a busy road and there is some noise from the traffic, but after a while you get used to it.
ALL IN ALL we would give these apartments a thumbs up, cheap and cheerful!

The Don Pedro apartments were...

Aug 2007, Miss B.m Mitchell

The Don Pedro apartments were amazing, not good amazing but amazing. Our stay was made even more enjoyable because Pedro didn’t change his t-shirt the whole time we were there (which was a week!).
We didn’t get free gifts but we found allot of stuff in the pool! The joy continued as we went into our room. The kitchen looked like it had been designed by a blind cat but the bathroom was the size of a blind cat.
If I were you I would keep hold of your wallets because our sunglasses were nicked whilst there. When we walked down to the beach the sight of two drunken women was amazing!
If you are going to go to don Pedro apartments do not use the portaloo near the beach unless you want to faint.

Noisy main road, no air condition, no lift, no TV, no phone very basic accommodation at these apts. We went on a half board basis not knowing we had to go to another hotel for our food when we booked it, where we were made to feel like second class citizens by the head waiter at the Vistamar Hotel. But despite all this we had a lovely holiday at these apartments. Small & friendly springs to mind. considering it was high season, most days you could have the pool to yourself, brilliant!
I could recommend these apartments for people who are not looking for any frills just basic accommodation, where not to expect any entertainment or food served around the pool, that doesn’t happen either. Nothing for small children to do at apartments other than pool, but the beach is only a short stroll.
We took our 15yr old daughter & she loved it, the resort the shops the San Miguel within reason of course, the beach, the late nights making new friends and the British Bull Dog pub.
