A modern local very well situated in the city of Lisbon, D. Pedro V has all the luxuries you will ever need. Presidents have stayed there and you will understand why when you see the luxury you will be surrounded with. The rooms are extremely nice. Avoid room service unless... more

Luxury Hotel
I recently stayed in the Dom Pedro Hotel in Lisbon and found it to exceed my expectations. The room was a good size with a large bath and a huge bed. Very clean and quiet. I only had one night there and the polite staff were very helpful in advising me where to go for dinner and to see the sites. The hotel is located directly opposite a shopping mall, but dont get up too early as the shops open at 10.30 am, no earlier! The overall feel of the hotel was very classy, i was extremely impressed. Value for money if you get a good internet deal.
Fantastic stay at the Dom Pedro!
The hotel is located approximately 20 min away from the airport, which is very close to the city center, not like in all capital cities (between 7 to 11€ with a cab). Right in front of the otel, the bus 11 takes you directly down to the center (Praça do Comercio, Baixa) and the 58 takes to Bairro Alto. We were given a large tower room with a stunning view and big bathroom (special note to the refined amenities from Molton Brown!), as well as access to the VIP Lounge on the 19th floor. The room was spotlessly clean and the maids were extremely friendly and polite, not shouting to each other in the corridor, like it sometimes happens in other establishments... The buffet breakfast offered a variety of pastries, fruit, cheese, etc...and everything was very fresh. All the staff was very helpful, well trained and knowledgeable. We had a great relaxing stay at Dom Pedro. We would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel to our friends.
5 star hotel at 3 star price!
This hotel is a delight...The views alone are worth it, not to mention the great large bathrooms....Restaurant is wonderful, and the staff outstanding. The free internet is such a bonus as well as the overall ambience of the hotel. This is the place for great value and a wonderful stay!
Nice hotel, but not exceptional
This is a nice hotel. Unlike a previous reviewer, I don't perceive the Dom Pedro as being 'out of the way'. It has a good location close to a major shopping Mall (with a variety of eating and shopping possibilities), and within easy reach of Lisbon's attractions. My criticism of the Dom Pedro - and it shares this with several other hotels in Lisbon, such as the Corinthia Alfa - is that it is not really a top 5 star hotel when judged on an international basis. Sure, it probably ticks the boxes in terms of achieving 5 star status. And it certainly deserves that status when viewed relative to national competition. However, if you are comparing it to top 5 star hotels in the major cities of the world, it is going to be a disapppointment. This probably explains why one can often get an extremely cheap deal on the hotel at certain times (e..g. from Expedia). Consequently, if you are looking for genuine 5 star quality in Lisbon, you need to turn to the Four Seasons or (slightly less expensively) the Meridian.
great stay but out of the way
as with the other reviews this is a great hotel, but a little out of the way. we stayed 4 nights over easter and found it great value for money. our only complaint was our shower which had a mind of its own when it came to heat settings it varied from "just right" to "damn thats hot". in the space of 10 seconds other than that the hotel was a real find. we also took the advice given on the forum and booked a return taxi trip at the tourist desk in the airport (15 euros each way) this turned out to be a limo, and the driver was waiting at the reception for us on the day of our departure another good deal.
Well appointed and excellent service
Spacious well furnished rooms, deep marble bathtubs, excellent and attentive service. Enjoyed the views from our tower room and from VIP lounge. Great restaurant recommendations from the concierge. It's not centrally located, but the taxis are plentiful and very inexpensive. There's a free internet use in the lobby, paid wifi access in the lobby and paid (cable) access from the rooms. Overall this was a wonderful experience and I would not hesitate to stay at Hotel Dom Pedro again.
Great value & excellent service at the Dom Pedro Lisboa
I spent a very enjoyable 3 nights at the Dom Pedro in April '06. The staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly at reception and the bar. The rooms were of a decent size and spotlessly clean. I paid about £80 per night including breakfast which was tremendous value. I did not eat lunch or dinner at the hotel, but the breakfast buffet was among the best I have experienced. The only downside is that the hotel is quite far from the tourist attractions, but taxis are very cheap so this was not a problem. I could not give this hotel less than 5 out of 5.
good hotel
staied there for 2 nights over the weekend. Hotel is new, service is good, room is pretty big , conveniently decorated and with a very nice bathroom, people are friendly and atmosphere is very welcoming. A very big shopping centre nearby. The hotel is not in the city centre, although not far away and conveniently located. You need a cab to reach the centre, but fare is very low (usually 5-6€). Fare from the airport should not be higher than 10€, pay attentio to cab drivers that will try to cheat on you. We staid in room 1202, with a nice view on the commercial centre and the river. We haven't had breakfast or dinner, so cannot comment on the restaurant. Overall, very positive experience.
Over the top Luxury!
We loved this hotel! We stayed the week before Christmas 2005. We upgraded to a tower room and were delighted with the accommodations. We made our reservations directly through the hotel and had a great rate for a luxury hotel. It was romantic, peaceful, luxurious! The staff were wonderful, too. We were only in for the night as our flight leaving Portugal was early the next day, or we would have stayed on and on. The hotel is downtown, right across from a major indoor mall with great shopping. The restaurant was empty the night we ate there, but the food was great, as was the 'over the top' service. I would go back in a heartbeat..but if you go to Portugal..by all means, stay in the Pousadas when you are able....especially in Palmela...another world!
Not a Business Hotel
To keep it short, if you want to conduct business, go somewhere else. If you want to enjoy your stay and have family with you, it is fine. +: Polite and English speaking staff Excellent B-Fast !! Rooms / bathrooms are nice and big -: No writing desk in room No Lan or WiFi in room Almost no plugs available in room No plugs available in Lobby WiFi in Lobby is COST based *you have to purchase access for your laptop The hotel is surely upper standard, however is NOT for the Business traveler as all needed are missing or at COST base. Being on the road in my job for about 50%, lots of lower standard hotels give you the things needed for work, but then lack in comparison to D.Pedro when it comes to space, luxury ambiente and style. Side-remark: the gym is right next to the restaurant and contains a cycle, stepper, walk-band. Not much else.
