Grecotel Rhodos Royal

Just came back this morning (03/07) and we had the most wonderful time. It's actually in Kalithea, not Faliraki - which is up the road - this place is ideal for a chilled out holiday. Just 2 of us went there, arrived early hours of morning and although the bar was shut, we were offered coffee and cakes by the security guard (George, who was a gem!) Hello, We have spent 9 days at the Rhodos Royal. Here are our impressions; All-In basis is very complete. Positive: great breakfast (a shame there was no fresh orange juice...), lunch in main restaurant or on the beach, dinner with daily show cooking, Greek buffet, lots of vegetables, fish, meat, great Greek pastry, did not like the international pastry, nice variety of fruit and of course international cuisine, daily pasta for kids, etc.... Specified a sea view room and when we did not get one the hotel and thomsons were extremely rude. It seems if you book with Thomsons you are second rate - other companies have the choice of sea view rooms first and after you have left they just do not want to know. Appalling customer service.

Very relaxing week. I really enjoyed the level of service. The hotel is clean and well adapted to familly with childrens. The atmosphere is good with a good mix of all nationalities.

Just returned and Rhodes is a lovely island. The hotel was also lovely apart from the food. The weekly a la carte was no such thing with a fixed menu presented and the choice of wine was Red, Rose or White !!!. The main restaurant was too small with queues to get in and rushed service to get you out asap particularly at dinner. We had a 10 day stay in the Rhodos Royal from 30th August - 9th September - we had a fabulous time the hotel was immaculate - the rooms were very nice and clean - the facilities were excellent especially the help yourself beer pumps at every bar!! The food was excellent as were the staff - we will certainly be going back there - we had a great time and it is just far enough away from Faliraki so you have a choice on whether you want lively or not and if you do then it is only a 5 minute taxi ride. Well worth the money.

Me and my parents went to this hotel in August and were quite disappointed. We went expecting a platnium hotel but found just a normal hotel. The pools were awful and slimy you could pick up pieces of the floor and that was the kids pool! Would you want your children standing / slipping on that? Beach bar was fab! Friendly and poliet service all day long however the br upstairs in the main hotel you could hrdly get served and at one point we ended up with things we didn't want. We stayed for two weeks in this Grecotel. As we heard from regular Grecotel visitors this hotel would not meet with the Grecotel standards. But I must say that this hotel, beside some things that have to change, was quite comfortable. Most of the staff (especially at the reception, beachbar and restaurant) are very helpfull and nice. Have just returned from two weeks at the Rhodos Royal Rhodes. The hotel is excellent, the rooms are comfortable and clean. There is plenty of sunbeds available by the pool and also on the beach, not really necessary to get up at the crack of dawn to book your beds. When walking on the beach there is decking around the sunbeds to make it easier to walk, must say though if you are a beach lover then this beach is not for you, it is shingle/pebbles and stones, in the water it is very rocky, when you get to the sand you can't stand as... more

Spent the last week in May at the Rhodos Royal and had a very nice holiday there. On arrival we were shown to our room which was horrible, after going back to receiption the girls who were really nice got the receiption manager who showed us two other room the 1st was a little better and the second was a family room suited us fine I like to have a sitting area with bedroom this is what we got for €17 per night upgrade fee.
