Not Quite What it says on the Tin.

Oct 2011, LOZ

Well you get what you pay for! Having just returned from this hotel after a two week AI stay that to be honest we got very cheap thought I would write a review.
5 star it is not nearer 3.
The building is in need of a lick of paint and a bit of polyfiller to be honest, but it was clean and the rooms were adequate and sheets changed every day. Balcony with sea view, but glad I left the cat at home as it would not have got swung on this balcony!
Pools are fairly clean, and you have a selection of fresh and salt water. Tunnel to the beach is nice although very rocky.
Food, this is the area that really lets this hotel down, after the first week we ate out every night, as there is only so much salad and proccesed meat that a man can take. The menu lacks well just lacks realy.Although there was pleanty to go around if you could get a seat. the nice looking linen covered tables in the adds is out of bounds, so dont be fooled. The staff were "poker faced" and I thought I caught one smiling but it turned out he had wind. So in summary if you get it cheap then go for it, but dont expect 5 star, and ask for a room on the first three floors as the lifts are a joke.

Definietly not a 5* Hotel
3 / 10
Aug 2011, anonymous

Just returned from a 5 day holiday.
If arriving early morning, they don't have proper locked storage/room to put your luggage that you can feel free to do as you please till you receive your room which is usually between 14:00 - 15:00pm, half day lost, stuck in the lobby till room is available.
Rooms are fairly clean... during the 5 days, the sheets were never changed, bathroom wasn't cleaned properly, not enough soap / shampoo, the towels given were damp...
The room wasn't "cleaned" / organised until 15:00pm
The fridge was dirty and didn't work
The balcony wall is extremely low and VERY DANGEROUS!!!!
Very SMALL TV, doesn't work properly, no channels to see especially for kids..
The elevators if and when they worked took ages to get your floor.
All inclusive was a joke!!
the food was appalling, no variety, the same food everyday, nothing for kids
Pools - weren't very clean, no lifeguards that you can see
Sunbeds - not enough, sunbeds that were available were mainly old and breaking
I would rate this hotel 2.5 - 3*
I definitely wouldn't return.

not a 5* hotel

Well its been a month since i came back from Rhodes Greece, the capsis hotels has its good and bad points, its good point is that its a walking distance from the beach, you dont have to worry about your food cuz its all paid for with the all in. so you can spend your money on other things like sightseeing. Also the rooms are Fairley clean (but not to my standard of cleanliness). Plus i like the fact that you can have a drink or coffee whenever you please. its a big hotel so you can go around and explore it.
the bad points are, the rooms they show you are not the rooms you get! its definitely a 3* hotel shouldn’t market itself as a 5*. The toilets (which are a big thing for me) are less than average, and could do with a proper clean and fix up. the lifts took ages to get to your floor, in my experience at the hotel, the staff are very rude and a little bit racist because maybe im not of European origin so i don’t advise anyone who’s not European to go, the guests at the hotel where very rough and also a little rude( apart from the English guests they were nice). The food is fairly average, although they had lovely tea and great choice of fruit.
All in all, if you planning to visit Rhodes and go capsis, it a good place to crash after a long day doing thing around Rhodes, we hardly stayed in the hotel we kept going places and island hopping which is fun, nice country, average hotel, will i being recommending it? No
Will I go back? No.
Not worth the money spent!
Thanks

This was the first time we had a all inclusive family holiday in Europe, I must say we were very impressed with the service, the food was fantastic with lots of choice but it would have been good if they had pizza, burgers at lunch time. The hospitality of the hotel staff was excellent, the rooms were not to what we expected of a 5 star but it was presentable and clean. The hotel is very much family oriented and I would recommend. We did not go with any travel agent, we first booked the flights and then booked the hotel with the transfers which worked out a good deal all round.

Hotel Review

Back this morning from a week at this hotel.
This hotel has great accommodation, and the rooom we had was well presented, clean towels and bed linen every day although the gown and slippers never materialised.
Lifts - even though this hotels has 5 lifts which service all the floors waiting for one was time consuming, just a good job that the 8 bedroom floors have nice sofas to sit on while you waited for a lift to stop at your floor - o and be careful as the lift does not always stop level with the floor.

Food - well the breakfast was more then enough for us but the lunch and dinner were not up to a 5 star rating as this hotel stated when we booked, I would rate as a 3.5 star (sometimes did wonder what was in the dishes).
Drinks - what can you say when you are all inclusive - GOOD
Staff - very polite and friendly and nice touch's made in the bedroom
Pool towels - even though you had to make a 5 euros deposit you had a clean towel every day, which was much appreciated
Would I go again - no, sorry but this is not what I would call a 5 star hotel

BUT GREAT WEATHER

We booked this 7 day late spring break through a London travel Agent as a package holiday on an all inclusive basis. For the money charged our expectations were limited. The transfer time from the airport was quite short and we were impressed when the Hotel porter collected our bags from the coach whilst we booked in. Our room was on the 7th floof overlooking the main swimming pool and the sea beyond. The room itself was quite large containing an extra single bed, both very comftable. The towels and the linen was changed evry day and the room kept spotless by the daily maid service with additionalitems supplied promptly when requested. The dood for all meals was served on a buffet only basis with the opportunity to consume as much food as each individual requires. The variety of food left a bit to be desired but the quality was generally quite good.A plentiful supply of drinks, alcholic and otherwise was avialable and the unending supply of coffee excelent.
The total cost of the break for the 2 of us was under 750 pounds sterling. which represented great value for money especially as the sun did not stop shining. The hotel probably could do with a bit of TLC but the entarance and reception areas are magnificent

The hotel was fairly pleasant but could with a new lick of paint and a general tidy up as its looking a bit dated now especially from the outside, deffinatley not a 5*, rooms were tidy and had a great view from the balcony although it can get very windy so watch out for the doors slamming! Enjoyed the food although it can get a bit repetitive after a while as it is with most all inclusive (you do have to wear trousers to dinner though which was a farce). Great beer and spirits served all day from the downstairs bar and the pool is very spacious and clean. The biggest downside to the holiday was Ixia as a resort. The beach is very poor unclean and very pebbly. There are only a handful of bars to go to in the area if you want a drink so we found ourselves catching a taxi to Rhodes town most nights which is only a 5 minute journey and cost roughly 5 euro. They you can find plenty of lovely bars and if you are of the younger generation head to bar street (a narrow street lined with pubs bars and nightclubs) which is full of young adults looking for a good time(hardly no English there though mostly sweedish dutch ect but still great fun). Falaraki isn't too far either and highly recommended as it has calmed down a lot form its hay days but still lively enough.

just returned from a week at the capsis hotel and could not believe some of the reviews. The staff were brilliant, polite and very helpful.our room was spotless with fresh bedding and towels daily.Although the food was not fantastic it was edible, warm and with a reasonable choice. All inclsive was fine and had no problems ordering extra at 11pm .When you consider the holiday cost less than £750 for two it was excellent value for money.

Definitely Not A 5 *

Oh My Goodness, where do I start. I got back from Ixia on 19th August 2009, having spent a week at the Softiel Capsis hotel. Please see my itemised list of disgust and form your own opinons!!!
*Food was appalling. My friend got food posioning (and trust me she wasn't the only one) - which we pinned down to the Lamb, which was served for dinner at least 3 out of the 7 days that we stayed there.
*The pool was filled with salt water, and with the exception of one, all were filthy (sand and leaves from the overgrown gardens)
*Pool Bar was closed the entire, time we where there.
*Spa CLOSED
*Super market CLOSED
*The so called private beach was unloved and grotty! The under the road passage freaked me out, the only loungers on the so called, private beach will set you back 3.50 euros per lounger
*With the exeception of a few (maids), most the staff where rude and unhelpful
*All inclusive was a joke. No juices, or name brand spirits.
*The only Al cart restraurant on the resort, was extortionately EXPENSIVE, even though you recieved a 20% discount - and the food was awful and tasteless.
* As for the Gym - DONT WASTE YOUR TIME - Cause theirs virtually nothing in there.
* The Indoor pool is shut. the pool is empty and very DANGEROUS.
*NO SNACKS
*No Currency exchange (there is however a cash point machine in the lobby, which does give out EUROS)
* The Balcony wall is extremely low and VERY DANGEROUS!! Be very careful if you have small children.
*Entertainment was sporadic
* The lift when they were working where extremly slow.
I felt compelled to write this review, because I when I booked this holiday, I was seduced by the price of this holiday, and I made the mistake of not reading the reviews on this hotel prior to commiting to pay almost 700 pounds. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my enemy, so please try and avoid this hotel.

If you go to this hotel make sure you have the name of the hotel you will want to transfer to (Mare Blue Cosmopolitan).
Capsis Hotel in a nut shell is horrible.
Food was poor.
Salt pool was filthy (sand and leaves from the overgrown gardens)
pool bar discusting and closed
spa CLOSED
super market CLOSED
beach (might as well be closed! grotty "under the road passage"rubbish, ripped tights, no loungers and mouldy showers - definately not somewhere I would take the kids!)
wires hanging out of the walls
air conditioningin generators very load all night
rude and unhelpfull staff (predomanantly a french hotel, they will serve any french that came to the bar whilst you are waiting first as they were "paying" - apparently because we were all inclusive we were not!!
All inclusive was a joke. The staff took off Orange juice because it was "too expensive" despite it being on the description on AI
Bottled beers were taken off the AI also because we "drank too many" - this is about 4 bottles each in the space of 4 hours. definatley not excessive!!
Indoor pool is shut. the pool is empty and very DANGEROUS. We were looking around the hotel and saw a wide open door..dark room near the childrens pool..5 steps in and we would have been at the bottom of the deep end of the empty grotty pool. (not ideal for kiddies that want to explore.)
NO SNACKS
NO ENTERTAINMENT
basically. This hotel in its day would have been lovely you can really see that. The problem is that it has had a very bad few years and closed things, got rid of staff, and quite frankly it is on its last legs. I dont think you will see this hotel next year. We actually transferred to the Mare Blue hotel after 2 days and let me tell you, it was a 4* but was amazing. please read my reveiw on this one as BELIEVE ME if you can get a transfer before you go I would strongly reccommend it because you will come back with a massive phone bill tryong to get transferred when you are there if not.
Please dont see this reveiw as snotty. I have NEVER complained about a hotel before, never been transferred and always try to see the good points. unfortunately this hotel has NONE.

As my family and I arrived at hotel...

As my family and I arrived at hotel Capsis we were very impressed with its decor, large and beautiful reception area, grand piano in one lounge at night lit candles everywhere, yes very nice I thought!
The first week meals was above average sadly they don’t cater for children (chicken nuggets, burgers beans etc, etc) you can eat as much salads till it comes out your ears if you would like. We got friendly with other Thomson guests and one by one we all started going down like flies with sickness. My daughter became sick then my father thankfully didn’t end up in hospital.
Wasn’t sure what caused it don’t know if the hotel chef wasn’t cooking the eggs properly or what but there was a good few people that were sick. After that it got worse and worse!
The second week of the holiday they started to shut the hotel down for a conference, the snack bar by the hotel pool (the cheapest for food) had closed ,the bar that held all the entertainment (poor as it was) had closed and lord forbid they started cutting down on the food for the guests! In the meantime posh cutlery was coming out big new flags was being put up, a big bbq was being laid out for the people who was at the conference.
Finally the day had come when it was time to come home, my mother who don’t eat much anyway ask the head waiter if it would be possible to have lunch instead of dinner as our bus was picking us up to take us to the airport and we would miss dinner he replied no! The holiday cost us for 5 people £3,500. Feel anger feel we didn’t get monies worth, won’t be going there again.
