Having booked independently a 1 Bed Apt, we were delighted to be allocated a 2 bed Apt with washing machine and two large fans.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times; apartments were spotless as was the pool and surrounding area. in late September weather was very pleasant, beaches reasonably quiet.
If you are easily embarrassed beware of the nudist beaches round the headland from the main beach.
At this time of year in Santo Tomas most holidaymakers were either couples 40-50 or quite a few elderly people. Most restaurants were good though evening entertainment was a bit limited.
Suggest hiring a car to get round the island.

My sister booked a large 3 bed roomed apartment here to celebrate her 50th birthday, and although it was basically clean it could have done with a bit of renovation.
We had room no 103 and the large double bedroom we had, had a noisy air-conditioning unit on the small balcony outside our bedroom. When we complained we were told the air-conditioning was for the bar and restaurant, which our room was above and they said they would turn it off between midnight and 8am but this never happened, so I bought earplugs instead.
The bedrooms had a ceiling fans which was just as well because we had to keep the balcony door closed. Apart from this the apartment was well equipped plenty of plates glasses and cups etc. The large balcony looked over the pool and you could see the sea a bit further over.
The restaurant belonging to the apartments (Lady Hamilton) was very good we ate in here a couple of times staff very friendly and helpful. Whilst there apart from the Lady Hamilton, we ate at Es Pins, Don Tomas (my favourite), the buffet at Sol Menorca Hotel (very good value at 20euro for as much as you could eat plus wine and water) the Chinese above the supermarket (my sister and her family went here they liked it but I personally can’t comment) and a restaurant along the beach near a kind of look out point can’t remember name.
We didn't have a bad meal at any of them.
We found Menorca to be more expensive than the places we usually holiday in (Greek Islands) we were spending approximately between 156 and 166 Euros per night for 7 of us. So be aware and take extra money, my sister had to get more money from the cash machine but the ATM in Santo Tomas had run out of money so we went to Es Migron Gran to the cash machine there.
You can walk into Son Bou across the cliffs and along the beach but this was quite hard going and took over an hour. We decided to get a bus back but buses didn’t go direct to Santo Tomas - you had to get a bus to Mahon change to get a bus to Santo Tomas. We got a taxi back but this cost 24 euro as there was no beach road there was no direct route.
We also got a bus into Es Migron Gran which is a typical Spanish village but apart from a church not much else to see. We also got a bus into Citudella but because of the bus times only spent about 2 hours there and it wasn’t long enough to see everything.
Summing up we thought a week was enough Santo Tomas is tiny and the entertainment is mostly hotel based.
We had my 2 nieces with us who were aged 18 and 21 and there really isn’t enough for people of that age to do. It’s a lovely place for families with young children, its very child friendly with a lovely sandy beach and a lot of play areas for children.
Would we return? yes but not to Santo Tomas but possibly to another resort in Minorca and hire a car to get to see everything.

Nice size, bright and airy apartments. Towels and linen changed regularly although the cleaning of the apartment itself could have been more thorough.
Pool area was always spotlessly clean and there are plenty of sun loungers and parasols. Restaurant staff extremely friendly and quite a good menu.
There was nobody to greet us on our arrival and show us to our room as we arrived fairly late. We thought this was poor. We had to get the key from the restaurant and when we found the room it had no cot in it (as previously requested) which meant that my 17th month old exhausted son could not get to bed. It was also a one bedroom apartment and not a two bedroom as we had booked and paid for. We insisted to see a manager and after 40 mins plus she arrived. Rather reluctantly and after a slightly heated conversation she agreed to go to the office to check whose mistake it was. She came back and admitted that is was their fault but couldn't do anything until morning. A cot was then brought to the room for us. We didn't get to our proper room until midday the following day. Rather inconvenient. We asked for an upgrade and this was offered but not until the end of the first week of our holiday. She was supposed to come and show us and nothing more was ever mentioned. We asked on the last day of our holiday, in light of the poor service we feel we received, if they would settle our small restaurant bill (there was only one meal on the bill) and were told it was out of the question, and we were made to feel as though we wanted something for nothing. They wouldn't even pay for the safely deposit box for us and said to be grateful that we'd had two fans for free. They threatened to call the police can you believe if we didn't pay for it ourselves.
Mandy the so called manageress was both rude and aggressive in her approach and her management skills leave a lot to be desired.
So, overall, an average accommodation but should you have a problem don't rely on it being sorted to your satisfaction.
The resort itself is ideal for families with young children but the food is very 'chicken, salad and chips' and lacks authenticity.

Just returned from a week at the Hamilton Court with family (me, hubby, children aged 8 and 9, and nan). Apartments were excellent. We booked for a 2 bedroom, but were upgraded to a 3 bedroom with 2 bathrooms and its own roof terrace!!
Very spacious, well equipped, good views.
The Pool was very nice, kids loved it, and we were right on the very safe beach with its shallow waters.
Definitely a place to relax, although if you like it lively you might find this resort too small and quiet. We've been to Menorca before and seen the sights, so were quite happy this time to chill out by pool or beach.
The supermarkets are quite expensive as previously mentioned on this web site, and there are only a few gift shops, but the goods are of good quality compared to other holiday resorts we've visited.
One criticism; we booked for half board at these apartments, and were very disappointed in the choice and quality of the menu, which was different from the a la carte. The Thomson rep was apparently unable to rectify this, so we took matters into our own hands, and reached an agreement about menu contents with the restaurant manager.
All in all, a good place to holiday with a mixed generation family, especially if you are in need of some relaxation.

This was our fourth holiday at Hamilton Court. It is perfect for us. It is quiet at the time of year we go, but there is plenty to do for the children both during the day and evening. The children’s club is great, my daughter can't wait to go back again.
Not much for teens, no raves or nightclubs. It is ideal for families with younger children and older people looking for a safe quaint holiday.
The apartments and pool area are beautifully clean and well tended, everything you need is either in the apartment or available. Everyone is very friendly and it feels safe. This was my first holiday as a single parent and I am happy to go back there on my own.

This was my 5th visit to Hamilton Court and Santo Tomas.
As usual the staff were brilliant, the apartment was lovely, we all had a lovely time.
Definitely not a place to go to if you are looking for a lively nightlife. There isn't anything for teens to do, just a few hotels in the evenings that have entertainment.
It’s a quiet happy resort. Definitely worth hiring a car and see the rest of the Island. We like going to Monte Torro. On a clear day you can see the sea all round!
Children are safe (and as a single parent I feel safe too) its very family oriented.

Hamilton Court apartments are brilliant if you want a relaxed holiday in a safe resort Santo Thomas is great for young Children with a great beach and a few restaurants. Teenagers would find little to do at nights "no clubs". I have stayed in Hamilton court for a few years now and can highly recommend them! The apartments are clean the restaurant in the complex is first class and the pool and gardens surrounding the complex is immaculate.

I would highly recommend this. Menorca is a lovely place but is not for you if you are looking for a clubbing island (go to Ibiza or Majorca). The island is small but there was enough to do for two weeks.
Thomson were brilliant, the resort was brilliant all at a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

Another totally successful and happy holiday at Hamilton Court.
The apartment was, as usual, absolutely lovely. The maid service faultless. The whole place was clean, including the pool and pool area. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was very nice with a varied menu.
This time we stayed for 2 weeks and it was still not long enough. I hired a car for the whole 2 weeks and visited a lot of the island. Having a car does mean if you are self catering you can drive to the larger supermarkets, which have more choice and are cheaper. Prices are quite high in the resort.
It’s a very safe place for families, however as has been said before it is quite quiet, so not much for teens to do, just family entertainment in the evenings.
