This was the first holiday that my boyfriend and I have been on together, this was booked only 7 weeks in advance and we were very pleasantly surprised!
The hotel has obviously undergone renovation and is modern and clean, especially the reception, which is manned 24/7.
We stayed in a twin room, which was basic, but again was clean and the beds are changed often, towels every day.
The hotel offers lots of entertainment (especially for families with children!) there is always something happening if you are the sporty type ( volley ball, water polo, rifle shooting etc) and evening entertainment for the adults after the kids club disco.
There is one main pool, with a bar close by, good if you are all inclusive! and another shallow pool out of the way if you like more peace and quiet.
The food is quite basic, but if you are quite a picky eater there is always something on offer.
the resort is quiet, and you are a little way from the beach, but with a courtesy bus right outside the hotel it's easy to get to and from.
A very clean beach, a nice walk across the front....but not many shops, bars or restaurants. all in all a very quiet relaxing resort.

We have just returned from the Hotel Sur Menorca at Punta Prima on Menorca having enjoyed their all-inclusive option for a week. The hotel was kept wonderfully clean, the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and the animation team led by Johann worked so very hard every day to try and involve as many guests in the activities as possible. The hired-in evening entertainment proved very professional.
There was much menu variation and everyone we met seemed satisfied with what was on offer - the fish dishes were particularly good, extremely fresh and something different to enjoy every day - in just one week I enjoyed hake, sea bass, swordfish, red sea scorpion, cod, gambas, mussels and salmon!!
This was the first time that we have booked an all-inclusive holiday and we will be doing it again next year. The totally negative report we read on this website regarding the Sur Menorca we feel must have been a mistake!!!!!! I am sure that we will visit again and can thoroughly recommend this hotel and it's staff and facilitles. We made many new friends and look forward to keeping in touch.

Just returned from this hotel for the second year, yet again my family and I had a great time.
Food great, entertainment staff brilliant, maid services excellent. This holiday is a must for families with children.
We returned because we had a great time last year and we had an even better time this year. We met a family who were there last year! So what does this say about this hotel.

Good: Clean, very helpful staff throughout, superb views from room balcony (definitely worth requesting a sea view), good entertainment on a couple of nights, easy to find sunbeds even after 9:00, food was good with plenty of choice, a good base to explore this lovely island.
Not so good: Room was cramped and had the smallest shower room I’ve ever seen (a real problem just getting in and out of the shower), entertainment was mainly mediocre at night and unless you reserved your seat in front of the tiny stage very early you couldn’t see anything, queues at the bar became tedious but at least you could order more than the usual 2 drinks, no beach which meant using the courtesy bus to Punta Prima, the lack of a Thomson rep was inconvenient there was a phone line you could ring but who wants to be bothered with that? Much better to see someone in person even for an hour every other day.
Overall this hotel tried to give you the feel good factor and succeeded, plenty kicking off but never too much pressure to join in and if you use it as a base to tour the island you will have a holiday to remember.

Booked 2 rooms because of young kids; arrived to find rooms miles apart not together. Moved to lovely bungalow in grounds, 100% there. Main restaurant food good if limited choice, but good seafood, seabass, hake, trout, sole. No pizza slices, or grill / egg chef. No snacks to speak of, snack bar hatch opens 30 mins or 45 mins 3 times per day and dispenses what management decrees; burgers, hot dogs or toasties - OK. No self service allowed at snack bar, orders only.
No drinks machines for self service outside of restaurant, not even tea or coffee machines, so you can't get a hot cuppa tea if you wake up at 3am or just fill a glass of fanta yourself in the afternoon - you have to queue at the bar for it. Little kids have to queue at the same hatch bar to get a fanta and ice cream tub with big adults ordering vodka and beer. Not very good. Not an adequate bar, worst we've ever encountered actually, just not a proper bar. Beach courier efficient but beach not worth visiting.
Nothing to do except sit round pool, which gets very crowded and rough with water guns stupidly allowed. Kids get bored. Entertainment team needs shooting, completely rubbish for day and evening entertainment. Lilo's and rings banned from pool, you will be told to get out, yet they're still sold in the hotel shop !
Main hotel rooms extremely small, tiny shower cubicles, light walls, can hear conversations between rooms; we had friends who didn't sleep for 5 nights because of noisy guests. Lots of illness, sickness and diarrhoea seemed endemic; we had it, our friends had it and lots of other people we spoke to had it. Lost 2 days of holiday with it, our friend lost 4 days with her daughter, then got ill herself. Air-con in main hotel is poor, but in bungalow was very good. Reception is excellent (Cieran especially) and lots of people were moving rooms.
Place needs a good management shake up, better cleaners, proper day bar, separate kids bar and adults, proper snack service, not a hatch opening and a "take it or leave it this is all you're getting" attitude. Not what we're used to, but got a lovely tan, lovely weather. Pity about the sickness and diarrhoea though, this affected loads of people we spoke to who were counting the days to go home.
Wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone to be honest, short flight but you can get better for your money.

What an excellent holiday this hotel is, a must for familys wanting a fun holiday with everthing thrown in. It has to be one of the best hotels in the Balerics.
The hotel is situated just outside the town of Punta Prima, around a fifteen minute transfer from the airport which is ideal. Once there you wil be greeted by the friendly helpfull staff on reception which is manned 24/7. Once taken to your room you can experience the qualitys in which this hotel has to offer like; internet in hotel shop; pool tables; excellent swimming facilitys; volleyball; tennis; kids playground plus an entertainment programme.
The entertainment is fantastic and starts from 10.30 in the morning through to 11pm with kids club and also games for adults. At night there is allways a show on to entertain you.
The food and drinks are first class and there is allways a selection of hot and cold meals, fresh fruit and ice cream for the kids and puddings plus as much beer wine sprits and soft drinks as you can take.
I would recomend this hotel to anyone as it a little gem only found in Menorca.

Just returned from Sur Menorca, me and my wife had a great time.
The food was very good and always hot and varied. The bar staff were very friendly; in fact all the staff were friendly. The entertainment was good even though we hadn’t got kids we were entertained. We will be going back to this hotel.
The pool was great with lots of loungers. The beach in Punta prima was white sand and clear sea. Can’t say anything was wrong with the hotel at all. Very clean and very friendly.
Can’t wait to go back for another relaxing holiday. See you all soon.

Fantastic holiday! This was the second time we have visited this hotel, we were there in May 06 as well.
Staff are fantastic, hotel was clean. Food varied and plentiful. Loads of people were re-visiting and this alone must be the best advertising that anyone could ask for.
The animation team were fantastic, they never stopped, always on the go but they were never too pushy.
Courtesy bus was very convenient as was the fact the service bus now stops at the hotel and once in Mahon, you can catch a bus to just about anywhere on the island.
We hired a car from the company based at the hotel for three days it only cost 60 pounds.
We have re-booked the hotel for the back end of September and are taking an elderly relative with us.

What a wonderful resort! We only holidayed for 1 week but could have stayed longer.
We took two children with us aged 7 and 2 and they thoroughly enjoyed it. All the facilities in the hotel are excellent. The rooms were clean and spacious. The only problem we had was that we had no bath - only a shower which was a bit of a nuisance with a toddler.
All the staff in the hotel were really friendly. Reception were very helpful and all the other staff were great as well. The onsite shop was very well priced and sold most of the main supermarket items.
The entertainment was really good and varied. The entertainment team were excellent with lots of activities for everyone to join in. The food and drink was really good with a good variety of food at mealtimes and a special kids menu for dinner.
The hotel itself is set in a very scenic surrounding and is lovely and peaceful. This hotel is idea for families with children. We are hoping to return again next year.

Just returned from holiday and wanted to post whilst everything fresh in the mind.
Everything about this hotel hits the top, whilst the resort itself is pretty quiet and the hotel is a nice walk (15 minutes brisk walk) or the bus service every 15 minutes into Punta Prima on offer is an excellent free addition.
The hotel itself comes up trumps.
Brilliant for the kids of any ages. Kids club is from 4 years and upwards but if you want to accompany your little one from 3 under the kids club is still available. That noted, our little one of 3 had an absolute ball out with the kids club, this is due to the fantastic entertainers at the hotel, who capture everybody, be you 2 or a 102 they will bring a smile to your face.
Other entertainment include, Archery, Rifle shooting, Pistol Shooting, Darts, Ping Pong, Tennis, Football, not to mention the park and second shallow pool!
There is never a time where there is nothing to do, as if you do not fancy any of the above activities, there are another 2 pools to choose from, a kids one and one for the adults, the adult one being well supervised by the lifeguard on duty, and with a healthy selection of loungers all round both pools, relaxation comes easy, a small selection of various books is available in the T.V room to help you out there.
I haven't even mentioned the food yet and service! As mentioned previously, the food is extremely fresh and well varied, always a range of meats, fish, rice, potatoes and or chips, soup, bread and specialty cooking which is also provided. Timescales are good with breakfast between 8 and 10:30, dinner between 13:00 and 15:30 and tea-time between 19:00 and 20:30. Snacks are also available between these times for 45 minutes should you need topped up.
Staff and service is prompt, polite and speak several nationalities, which, this hotel seems to attract many, like: Spanish, English, German and Italian during our own stay.
Faculties are excellent, though the showers are a bit confined which our little one wasn't particularly comfortable with the cleaners were always prompt, efficient and we had fresh linen and towels if required every day.
Night time entertainment varied and on the whole excellent.
10 out of 10 all round, we will be back.

Have to say this was one of the best holidays I’ve had for a long time. We normally do villa holidays so was a little worried about going back into a hotel, but my opinion of this type of holiday has now changed.
The food was very good, no matter what time you went to the dining room everything was hot, fresh, and very plentiful.
The staff, from the cleaners through to the reception were very friendly; the cleanliness of the place was outstanding. We used the courtesy bus several times and the was always a lollypop from the driver for our little girl.
The entertainment crew were brilliant especially Johan, it was the first time we had left our little girl in a ' kids club ' but we had no worries, she was well looked after.
I would recommend this hotel for families with children up to the age of 10 and anybody who wants a nice relaxing holiday.
We will be going back next year for sure.

Been back a while from Menorca now, can still remember the good times, the hotel was fabulous a little bit busy but great. The kids loved the train that took us from the hotel into the town and back again. Also the free shuttle bus was excellent coming every 15 minutes.
The food was ok but wasn’t really a good selection of children’s food or a very good breakfast for the children. I think the hotel food is more for adults rather than children.
The pool was excellent but it was hard to find a sun lounger as everyone put their towels out rather early.
The beach was about a 15 minute walk away which wasn’t bad. The nightlife of the town was ok with the market along the beachfront. We had a good time and overall the holiday was good, but I don’t think we will be coming back as we got a little bit bored.
