weve just come back for here at the hotel sur menorca and want to go back...... it was great. we enjoyed it soo much, even with a 2 year old....it was fantastic. lots to do for the kids, the entertainers work really hard from early morning till late at nigh bless them. the weather was just right not to hot, food was great even had a childrens section from 7-8pm. and mmmm the toasties they have at snck time are lovely.
the pool was nice and big and was always sunbeds around even after 930am, the pool was freezing tho, but still all the kids were in it. my daughter only went in the pool once or twice... well untill the last day and never wanted out, just when i wanted my last bit of sun.
hotel and bar staff were really helpfull and friendly, rooms were nice even had tv with bbbc1,bbc2 and cbeebies which was geat. we had a really good view of the pool and the stage area, the rooms were cleaned everyday and with clean towels and sheets too. the only thing is it had a small shower room, with no bath, but we managed even with a 2yr old. the only bad thing i would say about this is that the stage area is beside the pool. but apart from that we loved every min of it.
theres nothing around the hotel but there is a free bus to pumta prima where the beach is and a few shops and restaurants are. and there is a train that comes outside the hotel and goes to another resort, but it does cost 8 euros there ans back and u have to pay for babies and kids. but theres nothing much at that town just a little fishing village with 1-2 shops and a cafe.
there is a market in mahon every sat and tue with is nice its only little tho the bus also stops outside the hotel too.
really i think this hotel should be rated much more than a 3* as its really nice, would go back again and again.

Went to Sur Menorca may last year and were soooo pleased with our holiday that we booked to go back again in May this year. On arriving at the hotel our first impression was the outside looked a bit dated but the inside was very modern and fresh. Dont let the outside of the building put you off as apart from knocking it down there is nothing they can do. We went at the start of the high season and the weather was very hot and as a sun worshiper it was even to warm for me towards the end of the week. Being the only hotel in the area it was lovely and quite and safe enough to go out for a stroll in the evenings. The hotel staff speak fantastic english and are always around if you need them. Entertainment is on practiclay all day and the food and drink never seemed to run out ( we did try our best ). Our daughter who is 11 enjoyed the holiday and cant wait for our return. The bedrooms are a bit basic but unless you are on your honeymoon you'll not be spending much time in them. The whole experience of our holiday was great. Great food, great drinks, great area, great staff, and defentley GREAT VALUE for money. ( and no i dont work for the hotel ). My husband is a very hard man to please and will try to avoid spending money if he could but he could'nt get his wallet out fast enough when booking the holiday again.
Hope you find this information truthful but i know you cant please everyone.

lovely hotel ,good food ,good value ,great for kids the entertainment staff were excellent good fun for adults and kids always something going on, the rooms were on the small side but we managed with 2 kid air con was a bonus!!! always a good selection of food, always fresh and the kids have their own buffet section ,drinks good measures and the snaks are the best weve had at a/c hot dogs, burgers, toasties which you get 3 times a day, the only down side to this hotel is punta prima itself, theres not much there a few supwermarkets, and about 4 resturants and maybe 2/3 bars but all the hotels are a/c so you do tend to stay in your hotel but on the plus side the bus to mahon stops at the hotel so you can go into mahon for a couple of euros return which takes about 20 mins also the hotel has a mini bus into punta prima every 10mins which is free so thats good because it takes a good 10/15mins walk into punta prima but on the whole a good choice for families

This was booked at the last minute and allocated on arrival. We our 2 children we were very, very lucky to be sent here.
We stayed in a twin room, which was basic, but again was clean and the beds are changed often, towels every day.
The hotel offers lots of entertainment (especially for families with children!) there is always something happening if you are the sporty type ( volley ball, water polo, rifle shooting etc) and evening entertainment for the adults after the kids club disco.
There is one main pool, with a bar close by, good if you are all inclusive! and another shallow pool out of the way if you like more peace and quiet.
The food is quite basic, but if you are quite a picky eater there is always something on offer.
the resort is quiet, and you are a little way from the beach, but with a courtesy bus right outside the hotel it's easy to get to and from.
A very clean beach, a nice walk across the front....but not many shops, bars or restaurants. all in all a very quiet relaxing resort.

This was our first holiday abroad as a family. Myself, my husband, and four children aged 16, 12, 11, and 8.
Ideally situated just 15mins from the airport, the hotel was set just back from the main road.
A shuttle bus between Punta Prima and the hotel was provided free of charge and ran every 10 mins. The driver always had a smile on his face.
Although we don't have anything to compare this holiday to we were extremely impressed by the hotel staff, the accommodation, the facilities, and the entertainment staff.
The food was excellent, and having very fussy children we managed to find things they all liked at every meal. The bar staff worked continuously and were always pleasant and helpful.
One thing we worried about, going all inclusive, was the fact that there may be a lot of rowdy people late at night with the drinks flowing freely. I can honestly say I never saw one drunk person. The entertainment finished around 11 and everything went quiet.
This is definitely a destination for families as all the activities and entertainment revolve around children. Also I must mention the sunshine song that even I was dancing to by the end of the holiday.
Overall it was the perfect holiday for relaxing, although there wasn’t much to do outside the hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for the last 2 weeks in October, in a 2 bedroomed bungalow (well worth the upgrade as hotel room walls are paper thin).
Could not fault the hotel, the food was excellent, even though my son is a picky eater, he still found something to tempt him &, if all else failed, cheese & ham toasties/hotdogs or pizza were served 3 times a day from the poolside.
Pub measures were extremely generous although limited choice.
Staff were all very pleasant and efficient. Rooms were cleaned every day.
The children’s entertainers were brilliant, for adults too. That darn sunshine song is stuck in my head for all eternity!
The hotel only loses points for lack of heated pool and limited entertainment for 10-15 year olds (too old for kids club & too young for most other activities).
Would venture to this hotel again but at a different time of year as most island attractions close at end of September.
Weather a warm 18-23 degrees.

Having just been for our 3rd visit to the Sur Minorca to find the only changes are to the pool area (much improved and now very much safer). Every thing else was just as we remember from last year.
Clean rooms, good food with plenty of choice.
The staff were very good at their jobs and we were very happy with our stay.
We will of course stay there again whenever we are in Minorca.

Great in every way but Punta Prima is very quiet. If you want a relaxed holiday this hotel is a must.
Food great, and staff were brilliant and very clean, cannot not fault it in any way.
My husband cannot eat wheat but managed to find something every meal time which did not upset him.

What an excellent week we had, the three entertainment staff were brilliant with lots of activities for adults and kids like archery, rifle shooting, boules, tennis, football volleyball and table tennis. The food was great with a wide variety of foods to eat different every day. The accomodation was clean but basic which didn't really matter to us. But the maids did a great job of cleaning every day and the whole place had a friendly atmosphere. Definitely go again.

We stayed here for 11 nights. Very quiet where the hotel is situated. No nightlife at all. But it’s good for a rest.
We hired a car. The best part of the island is the West. Apart from Cala en Blanes and Cala n Forcat the resorts are pretty but very quiet.
The food is good quality with a variety of choice. The hotel services all of them are very efficient. But very laid back. Waiting to them is normal.
The food I would say is above average. The staff as always are very friendly and helpful.
Get the sunbeds quick around the pool as they are always reserved very early on.
The beach is nice and not far away. The rooms are Ok but basic. The showers are tiny.
There were people moaning that the entertainment was not British enough and also that the all inclusive bar shuts at 11.00pm.
On holiday I do stay up later than that!! Would not return to this hotel and probably would not go back to Menorca.

Just arrived from Punta Prima, where we stayed for a week. After a short flight and transfer, we waited 6 hours for our room, everytime we asked the reception staff if the room was ready they just shrugged their shoulders.
The food is OK very basic, chips every night. Snack bar very limited too, kids could not get ice cream after 4pm.
There is no difference if you are all inclusive our self catering as the bar staff never check wrist bands and we saw people going to the bar with no wrist bands and getting free drinks and the same goes for the resturant you can eat there for free as one of the doors was never maned.
Be very careful, as we all got glass in our feet as during the day the bar served drinks around the pool in plastic cups then in the evening they served drinks in glasses but people are still sitting around the pool watching the evening entertainment, glasses are therefore broken and not cleared up propertly, when we complanied at reception, once again they just shrugged their shoulders.
The entertainment is good, kids club do varitety of activities each day, and the same for the evening entertinments, each night different themes, which was nice to look forward too, after sitting in the sunshine all day. The girls that runs the kids club are very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are cleaned daily, and staff are always pleasant.
At the end of the day it all falls down to bad management. We would only rate this as a very basic hotel 2* not 3*.
