Hotel Description:
It's the personal atmosphere common to many smaller hotels that will appeal to you at the family run Sa Paissa. The central location makes it a convenient base for exploring the lively resort of Cala'n Porter and the rest of the island. It is only 450m to the nearest beach, a cliff sheltered cove with a beautiful sandy beach but this can only be reached by 191 steps so the tourist train is recommended for less mobile visitors. loading...

Sa Paissa Hotel Reviews
" Very clean hotel and surroundings.... "

Very clean hotel and surroundings. Staff friendly. Breakfast good. Evening entertainment (tribute bands) very good. Our room overlooked the stage, ideal for watching the shows but as people lingered on terrace until 1a.m - 1.30a.m. Don’t expect to get an early night.
The resort was very quiet, everyone was welcoming food in all the bars we tried was ok although not as cheap to eat out as other places we have been to. The 191 steps down to the beach are steep and the handrail gets very hot. As the train stops between 1pm and 4pm (we missed it) we had to walk back up. In the heat it was awful, but the beach and sea was lovely.
We went on the island tour booked at the Spar shop with Raphael. it was very good and half the price of some others. Plenty of families about. If you go on the bus to Mahon on Tuesday (market day) go early as the buses get very full and they stop at 1pm till about 4pm. Harbour trip in Mahon was lovely. Would recommend this resort and hotel if you want a week doing nothing but relaxing by the pool as there wasn’t an allot more to do, but we really enjoyed it.

The hotel has a stage and provides evening entertainment with a different tribute band every night. This was excellent for both couples and families. Older visitors may find the hotel a little noisy if they want to get an early night, especially if your room overlooks the stage (as ours did).
The only downside to our accomodation was the tiny room, plus the shower was more of a trickle which wavered between hot and cold. I was disappointed not to have a fridge in the room as this forces you to eat out for both lunch and dinner, not great if budget is an issue.
Cala'n Porter is a lovely resort and great for families. The beach is beautiful but difficult to get to as there are 191 steps down to it. There is a train but it is quite pricey. The rest of the resort also has some steep slopes so it may not be ideal for the less mobile. We had some bad weather during our stay and there was little to do on these days. Luckily we had hired a car at the airport, so we took the opportunity to explore the rest of the island. There is only one main road running from one side of the island to the other, so it's very easy to find your way around. The roads are very quiet so even inexperienced drivers abroad should have no problems.
There are a good variety of restaurants, with Indian, Chinese and Italian so something for everyone. All the food we had was excellent in all of the restaurants. Drinks are quite expensive everywhere but we have found this to be the case in other Menorcan resorts. There are several bars with good special offers so it's worth looking out for these.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this resort for families and couples who want a relaxing week. Cala'n Porter is quite a lively resort by Menorcan standards, but not ideal for those who enjoy clubbing every night on holiday.
