Cocobay Resort

Review is a bit old, but I would not think much has changed. When you arrive in Antigua expect some delay getting through customs etc, big planes little airport, just go with the flow, the hotel uses mini buses so no stops.
On arrival we were upgraded to a plantation house, I had e mailed ahead to let them know it was our anniversary. Don’t expect your normal hotel, that isn’t what Coco Bay is about .The setting is lovely. every cottage has a wonderful view, through the sea mist you can see the active volcano on Montserrat.
The pool is great, it feels like your in the ocean as it is set on the cliff, with the water up to the top, it seems to continue forever. The drinks are very good and the food is almost a la carte. All beaches are public on Antigua, so expect to share with the locals.
Some water sports are available and the swimming is safe, there is some coral close in, so it’s good for snorkelling. If you fly with virgin use the check in chill out service its really good they pick up your cases about 11am give you your boarding cards and you go back to your holiday till 4pm the hotel provides rooms for you to have a shower.
Now the downside, there is little or no entertainment in the evenings some nights there was a local band but by the time we came out of dinner (9.00pm)it was over, almost all the hotel guests were in bed by 10.00 which was a shame as the bar /lounge area is very nice and as the hotel is quite remote there is no other options.
All in all this is a wonderful place to chill out but I would say a week is enough ideal for a two-centre holiday Need any more info just ask.
