" This was a last minute booking,... "

This was a last minute booking, trying to get as good a value holiday as possible. The result was total success!!!!!!
My wife and I booked half board in this 4* hotel but did check a few web sites after the booking was made.
First impressions were very positive with very friendly staff at the reception and a light, airy, big and spotlessly clean reception area to keep the good feeling going.
<br>
The room, although not massive, was more than sufficient for our needs. Aircon was at our control and during the first night we overdid the low setting, I was told to reduce the setting by my better half and from about 2am the set was just right.
The booking agent did not mention the upgrades available. You could pay for all Inc for 20 euros pppn if you booked half board, 15 euros if full board and 30 euros if self catering or b&b.
The value for money that this presented was only evident when you checked out the service. ALL drinks from premium bottled beers to Courvoisier brandy and Moet and Chandon were available to be drank, 10:30 to 01:00.
Bottles of great quality wine at lunch and dinner with as many agua con/sin gas as required.
<br>
Food was themed on each evening, we had Tapas, Arabic, Spanish, Carribean and even a diet option!!!!!
Even with the themes there was always substantial alternatives available. Even steaks, seafood, pasta and fish cooked there and then.
The general area is a dream for golfers, 27 holes just over the road.
Three pools with bars and enough beds for all.
<br>
The beach is across some sand dunes directly behind the hotel grounds, (25/30 metres). The sand is clean and white and the although the beach bar is expensive the hotel bar will provide you with paper cups full of cool water for free if you are all inc.
<br>
If you have kids then the Animation Team were well on the ball but you have to be on the ball if you want to participate. Once the staff get to know you the task gets easier, Archery, shooting and much more. The check in at both ends was superb with no hold ups or problems. Jerez airport is pretty small but very efficient.
On the down side there were a few flies about but it is a hot country after all.
Thomas Cook Airlines could do with a bit more leg room, but for 2 1/2 hours it was manageable and they did pay attention to kids.
<br>
If you decide to go then be sure to go to Gibraltar, the fags and booze are ridiculously cheap but don’t try to cheat as they have one of the most intense customs outside the USA.
I could flap on for a lot longer but you need some things to look forward to.
Go and enjoy.
