Noise at night we were kept awake by screaming and running up and down the corridor, loud music playing until 6.30 am. I complained to the night reception they said they would do something about it. I pointed out that the notices around the hotel informed that anyone... more

When we arrived at the hotel it was early hours and there was no where at all to even get a drink as the hotel had no drinks machine and was about a 7 min walk to anything near down a long very dark uphill road. Overall we enjoyed our holiday and didnt mind a stroll to all... more

Hated the Hotel Monterrey
Noisy, dirty hotel only fit for loud idiots who like to make as much noise as possible between 2 and 6am. Hotel run on Polish staff who were miserable. Food (the little that there was of it for All Inc) was brought to the dining room but was never kept hot. Staff plated up food for cleaners and builders before guest even got near. There was only ever 1 sitting because the food was not replenished. Bar area closed at 10.30 pm. Take a plug for your bath/sink. No maid service to clean the room only limited maid service to give sheets/towels once a week. Have been told that this hotel is being removed from british brochures, wish it had been removed before we booked in July. Guests were mostly italian when we left on 20 aug. Should be rated 1* or hostel, not fit for families or travellers who expect a highter class of accommodation.
worst place ever
We have just arrived home from this holiday from hell!! The place was dirty, very unfriendly the kitchen were closed down just before we got there due to health and safety reasons (Rats were found there). we also saw many of them whislt there, Many of the rooms had mice too. The staff werent friendly at all the rooms were dirty we only had our lining changed once, the room wasnt swept or mopped the whole week. Its not a place for families as there is nothing to do at all and your miles from anywhere. its full of teenagers who dont care how noisey they are at anytime of the day or night. we paid £1700 for this trip - waste of money. although the rep gaves us 755 euro back for food as it was disgusting .
Terrible, worst hotel ever been to.
No electric first day, No water second day, No pool third day. Food raw and quite uneatable. So bad reps gave us 15 euros a day to get food. Plaster lying on balcony all week. Tables mildewed. Food not cleared away. Kitchen rebuilt while there and gym brought in whilst there. Building site - not holiday camp.
Sehr Amazing!
Firstly be very careful when booking this holiday, we paid £496.00 for a week all inclusive and have since discovered many others paid alot less. Anyway.... having read previous reviews we were dreaing going to the Monterrey but were thankfully more than pleasantly suprised. On arrival the receptionist was fine and we found the rooms to be spacious and very clean. The pool area was also clean with plenty of sunbeds (although they aren't the best). Topless sunbathing is the done thing and we foundsome girls who were more than willing to keep us boys well lotioned up! The pool was big and the atmosphere surrounding was great, although there were a few Rooney's lurking around..... The bar was fine and the staff were very helpful and more than willing to keep our drinks topped up! Also the supposed 'massive' walk to the beach and bars is not that big at all and to get to the west end the water taxi is like the most fun thing ever - especially when drunk.... Our only complaint was the absolutely appalling, abysmal, inexcusable, atrocious, shocking food. It really is that bad. Whoever thought tuna went with bacon should be shot. Other than that we had an incredible holiday and the hotel more than added to it.
most fun ever
following reading all the rubbishy reviews about the monterrey we began to worry that we would be entering a hell hole when we arrived in ibiza, however we were pleasantly suprised. the room was excellent and the room service was of high quality. the pool was one of the best i have been too, and was well maintained. staff were friendly and the hotel appeared to attract nice groups of people we met some awesome girls from walsall who made our trip all the more exciting! the one downside was the food, its such a pity as with a high quality dining experience the monterrey could pass easily as a 3-star, but it was poor. a limited range of snacks made the all inclusive option rather pointless and weak choice at meal times somewhat spoilt it. with regard to the drinks, the all inclusive option was excellent, as it was on tap all day - however i would recommend going self catering if you do go. all in all, and food aside, the place was fantastic, wonderful holiday, no hesitation about going back - just self catering! man with das cane oder was?!?!?!
team monterrey!
after initially being v pleased that we got such a cheap deal of £300 for one week all-inclusive we felt a bit down reading the terrible reviews that it received. So expecting the worst we were pleasantly surprised that it was such an amazing holiday. The pool and the rooms were fine and we found it to be very clean. it wasnt too far to walk to get to things, about ten mins to get the water taxi to the westend which cost 2 euros and stopped at 12. I didnt find the taxis too expensive, they were about 6 euros back from the westend and 20 back from the furthest place we went (pacha) the food was horrendous im afraid, ul be living off chips and bread unless u go out to eat. which i recommend unless u like (grease, unidentifable fried meat things, anchovy pizza and something that i thought was onion rings and found out to be fried tentacle) The sunbeds r really uncomfortable too but apart from that I cudnt really find fault with the place. air conditioning cost 30 euros and we got that back at the end of the week. We had the best holiday, ibiza was brilliant, best places to go, sunset strip, es paradis and pacha.(altho dont get the bus there just get taxis its a right trek otherwise) We also met some really cool people who we got on brillantly with and they kept us entertained for the duration! oh and boys will like monterrey, it seemed to have a high percentage of topless sunbathing.
girlie holiday
I booked these apartments for a 4 night break in June and was pleasantly suprised that they were as nice as they were. There was eight girls, (40) + !!! and we all enjoyed the apartments, they were very spacious, clean and had a lovely view from the balcony. The receptionist was always very pleasant with either myself or my friends. The entertainment around the pool area was ok if you wanted to join in, again this was a suprise as I had booked the break independently and didnt expect to be asked to participater. The apartments are a good 15 min walk from the beach and nightlife but hey, the exercise will do you good!!! I would recommend both for families and couples.
Lovely, clean apartments. shame about the noisy guests!
First impression of the hotel was great. On arrival the receptionist was polite and the aparment spotless. We had no issues with belongins going missing, safety deposit boxes were provided so we used them. The housekeeping staff were also very polite. The pool was clean, safe and of a good size. We had no complaints about the hotel or the staff only the other inconsiderate british tourists. Who some how do not understand how to close a door, instead slam it every time they enter/leave their apartment. Also, no matter what hour of the day they arrive shouting. Its no wonder the receptionist took adaptor plugs off the guests in the report below and entered rooms to quieten people down. I felt sorry for the families who were staying in the hotel at the time. One downside to the hotel was the unlit road at night it was not pleasant however we did not have any bad experiences walking along it, it seemed safe. The hotel seemed to be used by couples, families and groups of loud people. I would suggest that at peak season it is not entirely suitable for families but only because of the noise at night. The bars in san antonio bay were great the prices seemed quite expensive, cocktails being very cheap though. There are quite a few good places to eat out (la cafe royal, jackie browns were great) so i would suggest going self-catering. The walk from the hotel to san antonio bay was around 30mins the walk was lovely as you walk along the sea front. Overall the holiday and the hotel were fantastic we both enjoyed the hoiday and were gutted to leave the place.
Fantastic Holiday Excellent Entertainment!
My Family loved this friendly hotel. The food was excellent. The Entertainment was second to none. Our Apartment was larger than the average apartment and although we were all inclusive we had a fridge in our room which was really handy if you needed a cold drink in the middle of the night. The hotel entertainers entertained our kids all day. My son played archery pistlol and riffel shooting and even had a go at scuber diving in the hotel pool. I looked forward to every meal and we didnt miss one! We are a healthy eating family and there was lots to choose from. The only down side to this hotel was the unlit road to the hotel at night .
Worst place ever! Or nearly!
We arrived at Monterrey to find a rude receptionist, who spoke down to you. That was only our first hour. We were told to pay deposit for air conditioning, tv, iron, kettle ! What a joke when we had been initially informed that it was free! Whilst we were there we had to live off bread and meals out because the meals were a discrace and were usually raw!!! There were two year olds there who lived off ice cream and when you made anyone aware about this matter ie. the MANAGER it was like talking to a brick wall except you would get more sense out of a wall! A parent told a waiter that the sandwich meat (Bar snacks) for her two year old was frozen and was told to defrost it on the sun lounger. I got really upset one day and had had enough and wanted to go home and was laughed at by staff for crying. All in all the whole experience put us off the beautiful island of ibiza for a while. The only good part of the hotel were a few of the members of staff ie. Louis (barman), Nick, and the other entertainers and also the english people we met when we were there they were all ace, but if we had the choice to go back we would rather stay at home. If this review hasn't completely put you off, or if you have already booked like we had when we read the reviews, then take money for food unless you want to lose 3 dress/jean sizes in 1 week! (Chinese chef can't cook meat so beware of your stomachs!)
