Hotel in good location five mins walk to Beach. Clean and well maintained but corridor decor a little tierd and in need of attention. Facilities basic but as it looks on website. Entertainment medioca but could be improved on for evening but daytime entertainment is good.... more

I'm totally shocked by the bad reports, I was with 9 other people (age ranging 4 to 45) and every one of us enjoyed it. The hotel was clean, our rooms cleaned every 2 days, fresh towel every 2 days. Most of the food was great, somethings were not to my taste but you could... more

Wouldn't recommend
Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel, the location was excellent, literally 2 mins from the beach & close to lots of shops & cafe's but that's about the best thing I can say. The food was abysmal, very limited choice & I'm sure half of it was stale. The pool area was small & cramped, no chance of getting a sunbed (not that you'd want to stay there all day anyway) the rooms were basic to say the least, ours didn't even have a safe! If you want good food, nicely furnished rooms & a decent pool for the kids, DON'T choose the Ola Panama!!!!!!
beware girl only grups
I stayed at ola panama for a hen party at the end of June, the holiday started of badly as our luggage was lft at teeside airport which meant we were without our belongings till 1pm the following day ( we arrived at approx 10am) anyway,,, we made the best of our first night and got drunk in the hotel using the self service bar, ,,,,which is probably the only good thing about panama...... the following day all 9 of of us went back to the airport and collected our case, we came back to the hotel in full holiday spirit..really xcited,,,, then we got to our rooms and discovered we had been robbed, ( 3 rooms) money and mobile phones had gone. the police were called and advised us that at least one other robbery had occured on floor 3 in the last month, the maintance man was really helpful translating to the police but he couldnt go to policw station. a translator had to be hired...... so in all a few nitemare on the trip but we still had a great holiday, maguluf is fab,,,,, security werent to happy about us wobbling around the hotel at silly oclocks in the morning .... but to be fair there was families there....... i wouldnt recommemd this hotel as after the robbery i didnt feel safe, however its is in a good place in palma nova ........ maguluf is just a few euros away.....
Dont go there if u want to keep ur belongings!
hotel was clean but food was crap! was very french and spanish did not cater for children (even though we didnt have children) the all incusive was terrible all there was, was crisps, ham, cheese bread, sometimes the croissant that was left over from brekkie there was ice cream but was hidden away and onlyh little pots, i had my bag ready for the evening to go out and my clothes popped out to get some lunch downstairs when i got up my credit card had gone out of my bag, on the wednesday my cap had gone missing (it was brand new still in packaging) and so had apacket of my medication when i told the staff about this they said why would our staff want ur cap and medication ur lying!! i couldnt believe this! the hotel was clean but not safe the rooms have a kitchenette and was dirty! the balcony doors was not lockable. THE AIR CON WAS ONLY ON WHEN THE HOTEL PUT IT ON AND you had to switch it on in you room, kids club was good they were allways keeped active even if they were running about the pool but thats kids! having fun on hold (no probs with that) pool was clean and gym was basic. we had works in the rooms next to us wich started at 7.30am and didnt finish tikk 17.30! on the last two days they laid on sangeria for dinner and sausage rolls and peanuts and we realized why 4 coaches of french people had arrived and WOW the manager was out greeting every one!
Plain Average
room was clean , food was good but always of the same type. snacks were limited to cheese or ham rolls and crisps , i expected more choice. entertainment was pants and totally geared towards children, which was very annoying. also families are far more catered for . the pool was tiny. drinks were widely available and the beer was decent as well. i wouldnt suggest you stay here if youre a couple or on a stag do or the likes.
Highly Recommended
6 of us stayed here for 3 days while on a stag do. Found the staff really friendly and helpful. Security in the hotel during the night along with the night porter, this was handy for the other guests as when we got a little rowdy early morning they give you a quick knock and shout you up..?? The bedrooms where a little dated, basically had a double bed, Bed Sette (single) with a camp bed under neath. Ok for a family with litttle kids, but bit of a squeeze for 3 adults to a room. There was a good choice of food (ok menu was a bit repetitive but was always a good choice) Restaurant was clean with friendly staff. The all inclusive bar was really well stocked, only down side is the small plastic glasses for all drinks. The pool area was really clean and always staffed. Only 3 min walk to local bars and the beach, Magaluf only a 10-15 min walk or 3-4 euros in a taxi. Would recommend this hotel for all ages and for all holidays (family, couples and Stag/Hen)
good value
Booked via travelrepublic, great deal 45.00 for 2 adults all inclusive, how cheap is that. the best part is the self service bar, fantastic. The food is quite good there is always something you can eat, the usual you have at a buffet. rooms are very basic need updating but very spacious. Location good, able to walk to magaluf or taxi is just 5 euros. Would stay again even if just for the wonderful bar. The hotel does have a lot of french guests
cheap and cheerful
we booked a last minute break two days before travel ,booking flights and hotel seperately.Normally go for higher standard accomodation, but wanted a cheap deal and this seemed to fit the bill. All inclusive option was useful, can drink lots throughout the day whilst round the pool. Lots of food available buffet style, although i got bored quickly as no variation, good if you like chips ,fish and pasta every day.We were only family from South England, rest of guests were French elderly, or Geordie, though this not a problem for me as all were friendly. Pool area small so fight for sunbeds each morning. Room okay but bathroom dated. Good location overall , 5 mins to beach and shops, 10 mins to Magaluf.
okay if your french
Just arrived back from ola panama, myself, my husband ,our 2 year old son, 1 year old son and my parents in law. I am exhausted as there are no ramps there and there are steps everywhere, with two buggies it was hard work. The food was terrible as they only seem to cater for the french, it all smelt like fish and everything was smoked. After the second day we ate out most of the time because of the smell of the restaurant was making us all feel ill. The rooms are very aged and desperately need doing. The entertainment staff tried their very best and were lovely people but again everything was catered for the french. We were also not happy that they didnt provide a cot for the baby, when i asked about it they said they didnt have a cot and that we had a sofa bed and that was it.. On the upside the self service bar was great, no queues and lots of choice of drinks and snacks. To be honest if your french this hotel is brilliant, if your british id look for a british friendly hotel.
Good overall
We stayed here in July 2006. We got switched here from their sister hotel - the 4star Ola Club Maioris in El Arenal. We were not happy there because El Arenal is full of Germans. No offense but being English speakers we found Palma Nova a way better resort as it is 95% English speaking! Food was good at the Ola Panama. There is a good mix of people 15% English, 15% Dutch and about 70% French. The place was very family oriented and very relaxed. Magaluff is about a mile away and is full of drunken gangs of twenty somethings on their first holiday. It's ok to travel to Magaluff during the day but nightime is dangerous so stick to Palma Nova!
okay if youre french
we came back from the ola club panama on the 19th april 2007 after a quick weeks oppurtunity for a quick break in palma nova,in our honest opinon it was terrible, the food was awful and the restaurant constantly stunk of fish,it is totally catered for the french and the french alone, the rooms are a disgrace and are in very urgent need of updating,my wife and myself took our 3 year old daughter who had some problems getting asleep as it is situated on a very busy road,we are not bitter people but please be advised if you are saving up for this holiday please, please do not stay at this hotel spend your money elsewhere.
