Excellent holiday had in July 2010, all apartments have recently had refurbishment of kitchens so all brand new and extremely clean. Apartment in general was brilliant, large and suited our girly week away. Pool area was good/clean and appeared safe for kids as life guard on duty most of the day. Located in middle of Golf course so nice n quiet but only 5-10 mins walk from shops and beach dependant on your speed. Didnt use bar/food in hotel as tapas bars along promenade and by shops much better choice, quality and cost effective(1.50 euro for beer/wine ans plate of freshly cooked food of your choice). Apartments only cleaned once but reception happy to provide clean towels as and when. Equipment in apartment very adequete for cleaning up your own mess. The beach is just fantastic, sea a little rough(during our week) but everywhere spotlessly clean. The beach toilet/shower facilities are also first class and the cleanest public loos I think i have ever seen in my life(40 years if your interested in my vast experience of public loos). Very flat resort so would be very good for wheel chair users and people not wanting the hilly walks of Tenerife and Costa del Sol. Its a favourite as a choice for holidaying Spainiards too so they cant be wrong can they? We all felt very safe hobbling back from the local night club Mangu(free entry but quite cosy) at 5am in the morning so no probs there either. Local supermarkets are very reasonable with great choices of vodka,(approx £6 per litre)fresh fruit/veg and freshly baked bread(in that order). Fab week had by our group in general and will definately return in near future. Would suit people who not bothered by a couple of resident cockroaches and the usual traits of a 3 star self catering holiday. At end of day its who and what you do that makes holiday memories good or bad so dont book if you expecting pure luxury and bug free week.

Iwent last year with my boyfriend and his family we all had a great time at the Golf Centre me and my boyfriend are going back on the 2nd Sept this year, the people are very friendly and will make you feel at home and i would tell anybody to go there! Laura Manchester

Having never been to the resort, and after getting a great deal, I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of these reviews. I shouldn't have worried, as complex was great. Appmt was basic, but clean and had everything we needed. Pool was large with lifeguard on duty most of the day, but some quick depth changes which may be a problem for poor swimmers.Appmts were 5 mins walk from lots of variety in bars and restaurants, which means complex is nice and quiet.

We had a great holiday, went in june 08, weather was great and we were really close to everything, the only thing i do have to complain about was the flies which there was alot of due to the hotel being on a golf resort. other than this i cannot complain both pools were lovely and there was plenty of sunbeds. the hotel food is very nice. and the rooms were clean.

after reading the reviews on this website i was slightly worried about going to the golf center with 3 children aged 11 months, 4 years and 6 years - however we were pleasantly surprised and here is my honest opinion for those people with chilren who may be concerned about where they are going.
Appartments - very clean and spacious and plenty of room for 3 children. Garden and patio was also a plus although the garden wasnt very clean (previous guests fault). AMPLE towels and sheets. Cot provided for baby. Facilities good with kettle and toaster (think we were lucky though). Maids come half way through the holiday BUT only to change the sheets and towels - they dont clean or empty the bins
POOl - Need to be aware of change of depth - work it out prior to allowing children in - can be dangerous - signage poor. Children fine once they get used to set up. Pool side not very clean - its certainly not cleaned daily athough the pool is.
Sunbeds - although its against my principles as ive witnessed grown men fight over sunbeds, it is reccommended that you put towels on early in the morning. Everybody does it - or else you wont get one!
Food -
We ate here every lunch time as it was very hot and a good ten min walk to next restaurant. Food good and reasonably priced
Beach - Gorgeous beach and spotless - comfy sunbeds. Sea is rough at times but my children loved running and jumping the waves. Not able to go in it to swim though - even me and im a strong swimmer!
Resort - VERY Spanish! Caters for Spanish people on holiday - Not many speak english which is very unusual (we loved it though)- take a guide book with you. It is a sign of a good resort if spanish people holiday there. Very big resort and although the train is expensive it does give you a chance to look around. First expressions can be a bit negative as its quite built up in parts but we used the restaurants down on the prom alot as it was nice to over look the beach whilst eating!! On the beach there are some adventure playgrounds for children which were very safe and fantastic!
Walk to beach, nearest supermarket and resort is a good 10 min walk!
Weather - HOT HOT HOT - every day!! My children including the baby soon got used to the climate and it was fantastic to have some sunshine!!
All in all this was a fantastic holiday that due to some of these reviews could have resulted in us not going! People expect too much - YOU ARE IN SPAIN - They are not as fastidious as we are and are more laid back about some things!!!! I Would definately go back here with my children without a doubt!! My wife,my 15 year old son and I have just spent a fantastic week at the Golf Center Apartments.The accomodation is simple and very clean with plenty of space to live in.The reason for the 9 out of 10 was the need for some form of aircon as the temps were in the mid 30's.
They have got 2 swimming pools which are excellent if you have young children and with mobility problems.
If you don't want to venture out you can be fed and watered at the bar,but if you do a 500ish meter walk will take you to the bars and restaurants,etc and the beach a little further.Do try the Carribean Breezer for a relaxing drink and a must is Angie's jerk chicken (order 24 hours in advance) and after dining you can listen to Errol sing the the night away.
We booked through Thomas Cook and the rep Dawn was brilliant!!!,which makes a pleasant change.
Anyway the holiday was excellent value for money and we will be going back to both the resort of Roquetas and the Golf Center Appts.

My teanage daughter and I had a lovely holday. The apartment was large, clean, no cotroaches insight. We had a telly and there is this year toasters and kettles. The only cats we saw were domestic cats belonging to the people who were lucky to own an apartment there. The apartments on the ground floor felt very sucure because the windows and patio door had metal shutters on them if we wanted to use them and the patio door also had a bolt goin through it so no one could open it while we were out even if the had a key. the pool was beautiful. The only bad thing about the resort was the flys, there were hundreds of them during the day but u got used to them somehow. Would definatly go next year.

I visited these apartments a few years previously with family so I decided to take my partner last year. I absolutely love these apartments, they're clean, airy (like going from home to home), the complex is small enough to feel safe, the staff are ever so friendly and the pools are fantastic! As we booked independently we had the choice of both pools although we mainly stuck to the quieter one.
The complex has the advantage of being close to everything (bars, beach, Restaurents) while remaining hidden and far away enough from main roads.
We didn't really eat at the complex as we love to eat out and try different things, however, we did drink there every night! We also had the good fortune of being there when Spain won the world cup and the atmosphere every, especially in town was electric!
I would definately recommend this complex if you are looking for a hassle free, relaxing holiday and if you love the beach you're in luck as it's only a 5 min walk away!!
I would suggest booking this holiday independently as the reps aren't really around (although I personally hate package holidays anyway, don't like being told how to enjoy myself!!).
O, and don't forget to visit the Mario' Aqua park and Grand Plaza.
(also, try to hire a quad bike or mo-ped for 24 hours and drive to Malaga, a fair way but it's fantastic)
Remember, this is only a simple self catering complex so don't expect 5* luxary. Your holiday is only as good as you make it!!!!

My daughter, sister, grandson and i stayed at the Golf Centre Apartments 2 weeks ago and we had the holiday from hell. Our apartment was dirty,infested with red ants, our apartment was cleaned by the housekeepers only once while we were there. We had no tea towels and had to resort to using bath towels to dry the dishes. We also had to hire a kettle after finding out that there was no kettle supplied.
There was a pack of dogs roaming the complex which killed a cat outside our apartment, which we reported to reception, it was still there when we left our apartment an hour later. There were no safe childrens play areas, the one we found had a huge jagged hole in the slide, which could have seriously injured a child. We had a chat with our rep and she would not resolve the situation and was not helpful at all, we wre fobbed off continuously. I would not recommend this holiday to anyone. The complex in itself was very pretty, but the people who were running it were useless

we have just got back from the golf center we had a lovely time apartment was very clean and big enough over looking the golf coarse the pool was lovely and plenty of beds.there are lots of places to eat anya was one with very good food and very friendly staff.theres all so lovely places to eat on the sea front only a short walk and the sea view to go with it.its a bit cooler down there as it was 38 40f last week never out of the pool .all together it was lovely great for familys as we have a13yr son and he loved it
