My daughter, sister, grandson and i stayed at the Golf Centre Apartments 2 weeks ago and we had the holiday from hell. Our apartment was dirty, infested with red ants, our apartment was cleaned by the housekeepers only once while we were there. We had no tea towels and had to resort to using bath towels to dry the dishes. We also had to hire a kettle after finding out that there was no kettle supplied.

There was a pack of dogs roaming the complex which killed a cat outside our apartment, which we reported to reception, it was still there when we left our apartment an hour later. There were no safe childrens play areas, the one we found had a huge jagged hole in the slide, which could have seriously injured a child. We had a chat with our rep and she would not resolve the situation and was not helpful at all, we wre fobbed off continuously. I would not recommend this holiday to anyone. The complex in itself was very pretty, but the people who were running it were useless

when i read reviews on this holiday i was a little worried. without cause. we had two weeks in alovely clean well equipped apartment. it was cleaned every four days and we were given clean towels and bed linen then, too. beautiful pool but parents with small children cannot just send them off and ignore them as there is a sharp drop, but there are warnings all round the pool. there is a seperate kiddie pool. the apts are ten minutes walk from shops restaurants the beach and tour operaters for trips out etc. there are resaurants providing food from many countries and supermarkets that will deliver for a small fee. the golf apts is just off the beaten track and therefore is very quite. the restaurant and bar is always open and staff are very helpful. entertainment is usually a singer or kareoke. there were flies but they were not a problem even without insect repellent- no wosre than any other resort. my family and i had an amazing holiday and would not hesitate to go again or recommend it to anyone!!!!! the resort of roquetas is very touristy lots of spanish seem to holiday there. the beach is something else miles of wonderful sand and sea with toilets, sun beds, restaurants snack and drink bars and showers. fantastic!!!!

after reading other reveiws i was a bit apprehensive to say the least, but all i can say it was exactly what we expected, we had a great time, the rooms were basic, but nice an clean and very roomy, we had a ground floor apartment facing the 14th tee on the golf course, which had security gates on the windows which made the room a lot more secure. the swimming pool was great one of the best ive stayed at,plenty of sunbeds and child friendly, my 1 year old love it.

the staff were fanatastic, always willing to help, the cot bed they made up for our son was great and at no cost.

the entertainment was ok, the DJ was a good laugh, and the bar staff were friendly,

tried the food in the restaurant 2/3 times it was what i expected, not bad at all.

all in all we had a great holiday, its what you make of it. would certainly go back again.

Me and my boyfriend have just got back from Golf Centre and i must say that i was dreading going after reading the reviews. However, the holiday was fantastic, the accommodation is superb; the apartments are spacious and roomy with brilliant views. There is also a rooftop terrace from which you can see for miles and watch the sunset. The only disappointing thing about the apartments was that there was no maid service all week, although, our neighbours in the apartments got the service frequently.

There is a lovely 5/10 minute walk to the shops, restaurants and beach and if you walk an extra 15 minutes you get to an even bigger part of town with more going on. However, there is sufficient to do near the apartments.

I would recomment El Bistro for food. It is run by a British family, but they keep the Spanish feel. There is plenty to do for all ages from Golf to Jet Skiing, Banana Boats to Go karting.

I would definitely go again and to those people unsure about the place due to the reviews written, so what if there isnt a kettle and a toaster, there's a grill, oven, and plenty utensils for cooking and boiling water.

Please, go see for yourself because we were very pleasantly suprised. Probably my best holiday yet.

This was the first time we had been to golf apartments and it was fantastic!!!!! The staff were great eapecially mark who enterained us through out our holiday if you needed him he was everywere... He realy enjoyed playing with the children my two daughters 11 and 12 were very sad when we had to go home but if we could i would have stayed there for another 2 weeks.

Finding your way around was easy but the only down point was that there was cocoroaches in your beds sinks floors and the maids couldn't understand if you needed new clean beding plus you had to be up realy early to get a lilo bed. The end apartments were infested with cats mangie things you cannot go out and leave the doors open or the cats wil get in... plus in your bathroom there were mold all the way up the wall and the pool was a bit deep because i am a bad swimmer...

The entertainment was great but only karioke was on all night and no real good music the food was great burgers, french fries it was great traditional spaghetti and more

overall i thought it was a good holiday and wouldn't recomend it to people with cat problams but othere than that yes it was great......xxx

When we arrived at the Almeria Airport, we were met by Thomas Cook Reps. We got shown onto our coach and that was it we never saw a rep again. They didn't travel with us to the apartment. We then booked in and were given our keys to our apartment.

We were welcomed into our apartment by cockroaches in the kitchen area. It was a great start to the holiday. The staff were not friendly at all. The apartments were not clean at all and the furniture needed repairing or updating.

This was our first family hoilday with our 2 year old son. The pool was very slippy, in and around the pool area.

If you like cats you would be ok at this place , because there were cats all around the apartments, we were on the ground floor and youi couldn't leave the patio doors open and we couldn't let our son play out as ther was cat litter everywhere and it was stinking.

There was only one road up to the main resort, and had to walk pass alot of bins, they smelt terrible.

We only ate at the Golf Centre resort once as the food was terrible.

I would not be going to this place or resort again . .. a holiday I would like to forget.

We found the Golf centre apartments. comfortable and the complex well maintained. The swimming pool was great but children needed to be supervised as depth levels are confusing. The entertainment was fine, with a Spanish trio on most nights and an English singer on twice a week followed by karaoke. The reception and bar staff were at all times attentive and friendly.

Downsides-kitchen utensils pretty sparse could be a problem if you intend to eat in. supermarket 20min. walk, could be a problem for families, example carrying water.

Resort was excellent, plenty of good restaurants, some giving giant portions. Enough variety of shops to keep everyone happy.

After long discussion with the travel agent about what we wanted she came up with the golf centre apts.

Having 2 kids under 5 we wanted somewhere not too busy, but also somewhere with enough to keep you occupied.

Requetas de mar is what is considered to be an up and coming resort, the larger of the 2 resorts in Almeria.

Upon arrival we were shown to our apartment a bright and clean apartment with satellite TV, cooker, fridge and basic equipment. Everything in the apartment is basic but very livable with the apartments over looking the clean supervised outdoor pool.

Yet the real gem of the place is the staff, the manager from day one couldn’t do enough to help you enjoy your stay, he could tell you the best shops the best bars and basically everything you could ask.(Even directions to McDonalds and how to pronounce everything). The bar staff let you sample the local draught beer in case you didn't like it (great idea) and were always friendly.

Yet the best entertainment was the Karaoke Chef (he could sing as well as he cooked and the food was great).

The reps were the only down side when you wanted one you had to wait for her day at that resort and when she finally appeared she was more interested in selling day trips than answering questions about the place.

500 metres from the apartments was the resort busy but not too busy. With everything from bike and quad hire to the giant gorilla kids centre (for 4 euros you can let the kids loose for 30 minutes on a kids play area, slides, motorbikes, my kids made the place a stopping point every day. Near by was a water park but when we went it was shut for repair but I was assured it was a good sized park.

The one downside was the fact that requetas de mar translates to (little stones). The beach is a small stone beach so sand castles were out.

For food a great place to try is the m74 bar as you walk into the resort great food and friendly English staff.

This resort has almost everything every other Spanish resort has per square mile all in all a nice resort to spend a weeks holiday.

For families with young kids this place is well worth a look especially if you can get a good deal for it.
