Definately not 5*

This hotel has the potential to be a good holiday destination, in fact it did have a plaque stating it was one of the best 99 hotels in the world in 2007, however I would dispute that claim.
The complex was kept clean and tidy while the room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
We arrived at 2.00am and found in our room a kettle, tray and wicker basket, but nothing else to enable you to make a cup of tea. We went back to reception only to be told by an unhelpful member of staff that there was no tea making facilities in the rooms, and nowhere open to get a drink, but tap water was available.
The hottest meal we had was on the plane, the food at the hotel was luke warm or even cold despite being in the dining room shortly after opening time, salads were excellent though.
The shower head was loose and flopping about, which we rectified with the use of a kitchen knife to tighten the screws.
Our room was not made up on one occasion.
Drinks were watered down, and pool bar staff disappeared.
Entertainment was non existent towards the end of the week, the reason given was that the Germans had all left.
This is definitely not a 5* hotel, the food, bar, entertainment and general unhelpful attitude of the staff do not warrant anything more than a 3* rating.
Overall it felt that the staff were so busy concentrating on preparing the hotel for its closure over the winter period, that they overlooked the fact that they still had paying guests.
In summary I would visit Rhodes again but would not stay at this hotel.

What a lovely hotel caters for all.The food is served from 7 in the morning til 12 at night the kids can enjoy chicken nuggets, fish fingers, burgers, chips they can have unlimited ice cream all day. there is a babies and toddlers pool in between 2 adult pools. The rooms are very spacious and clean with a fridge but i didnt have to pay to keep it on!!!The main dining room is lovely with a great choice of food I had a bit of everything on my plate. the puddings are yummy. There isnt that much entertainment so in the evening we went to the other hotel kiotari bay hotel which had good entertainment and good atmosphere. the food in here was lovely aswell. We didnt have to pay for the sun beds by the pool. The weather was lovely apart from 2 huge thunder storms which were entertaiment in them selves. We also went to the water park in faloraki it was brilliant well worth 20 euros. We would definatley go here again

First and foremost - This is not and never will be a 5 star resort. A fair estimate would be a 3 star complex overall.
If you are looking for a 'lie by the pool' or 'lie on the beach' holiday in great sunshine and not too bothered about anything else then you will do ok.
The complex to be fair is kept clean. The day time entertainment is catered by a group of German 'Animation' team who again to be fair are enthusiastic and all speak fluent English.
The evening entertainment - well if you have been on All Inclusive holidays before with the 'Animation' Teams do all the entertainment you know they will be give it there best, but be prepared for an enthusiastic but amateur performance.
Now bear in mind this is is stated as an 'All Inclusive 5 star holiday complex'. If you want towels by the beach - yes they are supplied. IF you leave a 20 Euro's per towel deposit and told and extra 1 Euro each time you want to change it. There is a fridge in your room - BUT you have to pay extra for the thing to be turned on!!! There is a safe in your room- BUT you have to pay extra for the key to open it!! There are notices that if you want (God forbid) 2 sun loungers and an umbrella then this is extra! However, I have to say that this was never enforced, that I ever saw. The rooms are air-conned and ours worked very efficiently.
Talking about the room - it is spacious and again to be fair kept very clean. It is basic with a telly (One English channell - The BBC World Service) and if your in the South area of the complex on the ground floor - then you get a nice individual pool (approx 15 feet by 8 feet) which is pleasant to have first thing or in the evenings.
The cleaner - brilliant at cleaning daily. BUT after complaining that she had left the front door literally open all day with our possessions on view and the rear sliding patio doors unlocked - I was told by the Manager 'Yes she is very good but she did this last year and we had to hve someone follow her round to make sure she closed the doors after her....) Sadly, this didnt stop her doing it again a second time just before the end of our holiday.....
The food - well its mass catering. All the 'hot' food is luke warm, unless you manage to get it as soon as it is put out. There are left on large catering metal dishes on a large style bunsen burner. This can only keep it luke warm and whilst the food is fairly varied - it is always luke warm...
The drinks - We were told that the hotel pays £35 for a 50 gallon drum of beer. I dont know if this true but it is alwats served ice cold - which is ideal in particularly a hot country but also hides the taste. All the drinks appear to be watered down and are again all ice cold.
Days out are a must. The nearby acropolis in Lindos is worth going too on the 2 Euro bus journey. Very touristy as you would expect with the narrow streets full of gift shops. We also went on the organised day trip to Rhodes Town. A brilliant guide, very passionate about the city, particulary on the 'Old City' castle. This is now a World Heritage Site such is the size and the completeness of the entire site. A real good day out with so much to see and do.
I did find the staff friendly personally. One or two seemed a bit off occasionally but on the whole they were very approachable and tried to assist with whatever query you may have had.
As I said at the beginning - a lie by the pool/beach holiday with no frills. Very little to do in the evenings besides hitting the bar which des get rather boring as also expressed by a number of others we met on the resort.

I cannot believe how much people moan about this hotel!!!
There was 7 of us altogether me + grlfriend, parents, grandparents + uncle, age range from 21-73 travelling as a family and everyone of us has booked the same hotel again next year.
We booked superior rooms and thats exactly what we got! lovely and clean, posh beds! bathroom was lovely and very clean, with no problem with hot water. the maid service was once a day and was a thorough clean, with fresh towels daily.
The snack bar was very good, a good selection of food and toasties from 9am till 12am constantly. The drink was self service even the beer so this made things a lot quicker. The entertainment team were very good(even though they were German they got me and my dad involved in football, water polo/volleyball, quizes etc)
The main restaurant is really nice with a very wide range of food to cater for everyone with all the drinks being self service once again.
The use of the other hotel (kiotari bay) is allowed for guests of the miraluna, they have another restaurant and a snack bar.
Make sure you go to the town of Lindos Bay, its only 2E on the bus and is lovely. The only downfall we had was paying 25E each for a trip to Rhodes old town which was massively dissapointing, it was like Blackpool with the amount of shops and tourists, this ment you could not even have a proper look around the castle.
Overall i could not fault the hotel, you would have to be looking for something to moan about if saying anything about the hotel, theres no noise after 12am, you can get as many drinks as you want in last orders and sit there till 3am(the barman will always make it an extra strong drink if you throw him a small tip!

This Hotel/Village was brilliant, kids loved it, there was plenty to do. All the staff where friendly and helpful, expecially Nutty Nicki, Happy Hana and Kate. Food was good in the restaurants and the snack bars. Plenty to drink!!!!! We only felt the need to leave the complex once and that was only to buy some gifts. Well done to all the staff and team

Summary.
Very disappointing. The hotel could be a good holiday venue but not whilst the staff have little or no desire to please. The food, bar and entertainment do not warrant anything more than a 3 * rating. We will not go back and would not recommend the hotel to anyone!
Detail.
Good points:
1. Rooms comfortable and clean.
Bad points:
1. Arrival: At 02:30 (some 12 hours after we could have checked in) the hotel failed to provide the 2 seprate rooms we had booked and did not do so until 14:00 the next day - i.e 24 hours into our holiday. The room we were given until 10:00 was exceptional - but still only one of 2 booked. Receptionists over the next 6 days failed to address our dissatisfaction with the start to our holiday - i.e. paid for 2 rooms for 7 days had one room for only 6. Eventually resolved on the morning of our departure.
2. Entertainment: none in our hotel but some provided in adjoining hotel of the same group. Animation staff focused on the needs of German children and made no attempt to involve our 13 year old son.
3. Bar: Only 2 types of cocktail available in all inclusive package; only 1 member of staff at bar, consequently service poor; until 5pm only bar was self service in the snack bar area close to one of the pools.
4. Catering: Poor selection of food that was badly presented and un-inspiring; Maitre'D never made any attempt to engage with us.
5. Reception staff consistently unhelpful.
6. Our son cut his foot on the tiles around the main swimming pool - except to direct us to the hotel doctor the staff were not in the slightest bit concerned. The injury required bandaging and meant no swimming for 3 days.

I can only re-itterate the comments from the last feedback and that is that this is NO WAY WHAT SO EVER a 5 star hotel/village!! At best I would say 3. We were in room 626, the pits! Travelling with a 3 and a 5 year old we were not happy to find we had been allocated a room next door to 3 russian 18 year olds who enjoyed playing football in their room at 3am, thus causing us to call out security to get them to stop all the noise. Also room 626 is directly above what can only be described as a canteen! which opens with a clatter of crockery at 6am and closes with the last rowdy hoiday makers and music at approx 12.30am! Also beneath our room was the ping pong table and football nets were stored there over night so you can imagine all the young ones playing on those till the early hours. Opposite our room is the cleaners storeroom and she's a busy lady as she starts at 5.55am! which we heard each day as she merrily chatted to her colleagues whilst gathering her mop and bucket etc, without a thought for the holiday makers trying to sleep in beyond 6am! Three times we missed breakfast which finished strickly at 10am due to all the noise throught the night. If your really unlucky and miss breakfast you have to eat in the canteen/taverna as mentioned above. The food in general is poor in the hotel but in here it is just terrible, and if you dare to ask for more bread or melon do not be surprised at a shrug of the shoulders and blank expression from the unhelpful staff. Even ice in the warm very flat, watered down drinks has to be begged for! The ice cream probably would have been nice if you could ever manage to eat it before it slid straight through your fingers (total liquid most of the time) There must be many children with upset stomachs from the flat drinks and ice cream alone! We knew the minute we arrived we were not happy with our room. It was extremely basic with only an empty fridge to greet us at 3am when we arrived. Not even a bottle of water to welcome you! There was no tea/coffee facilities in our room, or trouser press or even tissues in the bathroom. Oh but there were plenty of dead flies splattered around the walls and chunks of plaster missing and other dirty marks on the walls, and tiles/skirting board missing, and loose taps in the bathroom, and stacks of MFI type doors outside our room all week. Need I go on. The place is filthy and although we were unfortunate enough to be holidaying whilst the forest fires took place you could see immediately this dirt and general low standard had absolutely nothing to do with the fire. Also when the fire did happen we quickly realised it was everyman for himself. The Miraluna management were aware of the situation since Tuesday but even by Friday when at the 11th hour we all had to be evacuated there was no procedure in place to get everyone out and because of this many guests were left to fend for themselves and find places to stay. We were told because we had booked independantly on-line there was no-one there to help us and even though it was 1am by the time we eventually had a room booked in a one star pension with no pool or food facilities we only got this by BEGGING the german lti rep to take us back to the Miraluna for our passports and money. We did request to change rooms from the first day we arrived and everyday we were there, constantly been told maybe tomorrow! We requested to see the manager from Sunday onwards and even this took 3 days to get to speak with him. Although very friendly, polite and understanding he could not explain why this hotel is advertised as a 5 star when it quite clearly is not. He did offer us a free weeks holiday to come back to any of the Blue Bay Group hotels in Rhodes but we expressed our concerns that they may all operate in the same manner and we never wish to stay in such a place again. We had booked All Inclusive as we have many times before but this time we had to hire a car for 5 days just to get away from this abismal place. We have had to spend hundreds of pounds extra on food and drink, even buying many of our drinks in the hotel shop as the drinks they serve in the hotel bars are just not drinkable.
We did not accept the offer of a free holiday but this certainly is not the end of our complaint. We have been mislead and mis-sold and we will go as far as it takes to let everyone know in advance exactly what to expect if they book the Miraluna Kiotari Rhodes. You have been warned, travel at your peril......

This is not a five star resort by any stretch of the imagination. Accomodation was vey basic with rooms of poor quality ie. coving falling down and holes in the walls. Bed linen and towels are also poor quality. The food is very basic and drinks watered down. Many staff were rude and the Hotel Management were receiving lots of complaints. This was advertised as a holiday with a sea view that was quiet and suitable for couples. No seaview in the resort and one of the noisiest places we have ever stayed in. The quality of this hotel is three star and if you do like five star accomodation with a good room, good food and a little peace and quiet, do not book this resort. To advertise this resort as five star is total misrepresentation and is not to be recommended. Be aware that if you arrive in Rhodes on a night flight to allow at least two hours for the collection of your baggage as it is chaos.

We arrived at 2AM. local time via local taxi from the airport at a cost of 49 Euros which was worth it as we travelled the 60KM in comfort and it only took about 45mins.our taxi driver Yiorgos was a nice guy, friendly and helpful and booked us for the return journey in advance which as it turned out was just as well as taxis were proving much harder to get for those who had not booked going home. The hotel had a lovely reception area and helpful, friendly staff, and we were given our room number, key and band for all inclusive. When we went to our room (superior twin/double inland view) we were pleasantly surprised, it was very spacious with more than enough room for myself, my wife and our two girls (13 and 7 ) it was also clean and decorated in modern style with most mod cons you would expect in a uk hotel, mini fridge tea/coffee making facilities, safe etc.

The bathroom was again fairly spacious and well appointed with bath/shower very large wash/vanitry area and hairdryer. There was also loads of towels and toiletries which were replenished regularly (if we had known we would have traveled a little lighter).
We could not fault any of the facilities, when you stay at the Miraluna your band allows you use of all the hotels inclusive facilities and also those of the hotel complex across the road the Kiotari bay (as both are owned by the same company and join together to form a large complex) however if you stay in the Kiotari bay you can not use the Miraluna's facilities.
The food in the restraunts was of a high standard with a wide variety of Greek and other European style dishes and not much British which may cause some a problem, but not us even the kids tried and liked most of it ( although there was a small buffet area for kids with chips, fish fingers and pizza etc. )All the food is buffet style and self service, as are the drinks available in copious quantities from 10:00 am untill 12:00 midnight.
Drinks are mostly local and include beer, wines and spirits and also some cocktails available from the downstairs bar across from the lobby. The complex boasts several pools which never seem to be overcrowded (there are always loungers and umbrellas available) the busiest pool area was the large kids one over at the kiotari bay which were we spent most of our time ,as it had water features and a pirate ship for the kids to play and also a playground beside it. An added advantage was it's close proximity to the taverna style bar were the kids could run in and out and help themselves to drinks, snacks and ice creams and of coarse we can get drinks etc. for ourselves. food was also available here after 10:00pm. when all the other restraunt areas were closed.Down in this area there was also an ampitheatre werethe entertainment was run in the evening, this consisted of a kids disco followed by the animation teams best effort at entertainment ( which was ok ) but a few times each week the hotel did bring in tribute acts which were all great e.g. ABBA The Drifters, Celine Deon etc.
The beach, which is just a stroll to the bottom of the complex and through a private tunnel is beautiful to look at but mostly consists of shale and pebbles but it was nice to walk along in the evening
Over all we had a great experience and we would go back again at the drop of a hat and would recommend it to anyone but especially to families.
Yiorgos will take bookings from holiday makers wanting to be sure of having a taxi waiting for them at the airport for onward travel all he needs is the name, flight number and eta.he said it was ok to put his private mobile number on this report. YIORGOS 0030-6973723324

A last minute booking for a week for my wife and I involved night flights from LGW with a pre-booked taxi transfer to the hotel. All was well until we arrived in reception to find we were not expected and it was some time before we were allocated a room. This is definitely not a 5-star hotel. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Good choice of dining and bars. Drinks normal all-inclusive locally produced fare. Food plentiful but a bit restricted in variety. Excellent pools. Lots of kids in ajoining hotel. We had great weather and on site car hire (Marster Cars) was competitively priced. Roads fairly empty. Staff generally helpful except for a couple at reception. Watch out for high cost of safe deposit box 20euro for week. Beach is awful. Must visit is Lindos 5 miles and Rhodes 50 miles. Hated 2.30 am return journey to airport for 5.45 am flight. Having paid a 3 star price for a '5 star hotel' we had thought we were on a winner, and even ending up with what we think is a 4 star venue we generally have to say we were satisfied.
