The Playasol Hotel is a large impersonal hotel situated in a prime seafront location, which is its biggest asset.
The rooms are nicely furnished and spacious and we found the beds comfortable. The bathroom was good with an effective shower. It had a large swimming pool with plenty of sun beds. The breakfast in the hotel was excellent but the evening meal we considered to be below par. The staff seemed to be computer programmed to be efficient but not over friendly. The majority of the guests were Spanish who appeared to get priority. As we went in October the summer season was drawing to an end and the resort of Roquetas De Mar was quiet.
We found some English bars which were pleasant our choices for the best- The Highlander, Popeye’s and the Miners Arms. You could not help feeling apart from the English bars the resort was for the Spanish tourists and the Brits were not entirely welcome.
One day excursion is a must and that is the visit to Granada which was undoubtedly the highlight of our week.
