Disappointing Hotel
2 / 10

We stayed in this hotel for 12 days and it was very disappointing for a supposedly 4 star hotel. In one review I read that it had been totally renovated 5 years ago. There is no way that this could have been true. The only way I can describe it is dilapidated. There were lots of people who asked to change their rooms and everyone who asked were always told to come back the next day when they would change them but this spoilt the first day of the holiday as you could not unpack and the second day as you then had to move and then unpack! The first room we were given was tiny with a view of old buildings. The bathroom did not look as if it had been cleaned and when we used the shower on the first morning the shower tray filled up and the water had to be turned off until it emptied a bit. Our second room had a much better view and was a more normal size and although the bathroom looked cleaner it was very shabby. There was carpet on the bedroom floor but this was not vacumed during our stay and the balcony and bathroom floors were never washed. The food in the hotel was passable but again certainly not up to the standard of a four star hotel. The pool area was not cleaned very well. The maids used to come up with a mop and bucket in the mornings just before 9am and washed around the sun loungers which were never cleared away so that the area could be properly cleaned, it was never hosed down during our stay! The sun loungers themselves were absolutely filthy as were the tables around the pools. These were never cleaned at all and I have plenty of photographs to substantiate this. We never saw anyone clean the pool in the hotel although we did see the one across the road being cleaned which you could use if you wanted to. My husband asked for the "key" to use their Wi-FI in reception and was actually charged 5TL for this . As anyone will know it is only a number they give you and I have never heard anyone charging for this before. Incidentally if you are going to stay at this hotel the number for their Wi-FI is 458 721 654 8012. We asked if we could keep our room for the last day and were told it would cost us £30. I easily negotiated this down with the manager to £20 which seemed more reasonable. The area itself is fantastic and I would recommend Kusadasi as a holiday destination but I would certainly look around for a better hotel.

Worst dump I have ever stayed at. Went all inclusive...The food was buffet style, there was about 200 guests and enough food for 50 so huge queues build up at the restraunt door prior to opening time. As soon as the doors opened there was a huge rush to see who could grab a bit of food before it had all gone [there was no further food when it was gone] The chef just sai 'Is Finish' all the time.A lot of people just went elsewhere to eat but those on a budget has the fight like animals to eat. People complained to the management but they basically dont give a toss [they have had your money, so what are you gonna do about it]
The drinks included was local beer, wine which was like vinegar and local spirits which ran out after a couple of days [I think there was just one bottle of each].
There was no entertainments at all, well if you count a small TV in the foyet showing Spanish music channel. The kids in the hotel were so bored they occupied themselves by constantly going up and down in the lifts [the parents close to suicide by this stage].
The advertised facilities [indoor pool, sauna etc] were all 'closed for renovations' [permenantly I think] There is a small rooftop pool and a larger pool over the road. Although it belongs to the hotel you are not allowed to take your all inclusive drinks or food there, you must buy from the pool bar??.The website looked very nice..the sea being only 100 metres away. This is true but what they dont mention is there is a private marina in your way and you have to walk about a mile around it to get to the beach , sorry I mean some rocks and a few lorryloads of sand which has been dumped there.
The hotel is on the outskirts of town and has no attractions nearby. You need a local bus or good legs to get to the tourist area.
I went once but never again. Kusadsi is not a good holiday resort, there is not much there to keep you occupied. There are lots of much better places in Turkey. If you must go to Kusadasi, dont go to the Grand Kurdoglu or you will be sorry.

Just got back from a two week stay and i must say this is one of the worst hotels we have stayed in. My wife and i are well traveled been most places but this is the worst . Yes the staff are freindly but in the restaraunt they all smoke even behinde the bar not very pleasant. we had to change room's aswell cos thet stank of cig's. Food was just ok if you were not there early it was cold. and the bar closed at 10pm on the dot after that you have to pay!. There are alot better hotels in Kusadasi.

I returned on 10th Aug after spending a week at this hotel with a friend the hotel itself was ok a little dated maybe but was clean. Many of the staff struggled to understand english, I asked for extra pillows but never got them & staff could not understand when they were asked questions. Pool and sunbathing (roof top) area is small u can use the pool opposite but many had been over there & got there towels very dirty from the loungers, u cannot get anything on your all inc over there u have to go back to the main hotel. The food was plentyful but a bit repetative chicken every meal time. There was very little entertainment at the hotel only music during the day & there was a Turkish nite on Weds nite which was good fun & a karaoke of sorts on Fri nite that was it. The hotel is not suitable for people with walking difficulties as it is situated on a hill. i may consider returning to this hotel if i wanted a relaxing holiday.

Read reviews on this hotel and went with a slightly apprehensive view but still open minded. Found it to be far better than expected. Accomodation fine and clean if slightly dated but sea view and sunsets made up for it. Staff were very helpful and all pleasant. The upstairs bar staff and a couple of the waiters were particularly good. One was particularly caring towards two families who had disabled children with them. Must recommend the Turkish Bath and the massuese, Mammett was extremely good, helpful, freindly and useful for local knowledge. Food was fresh and offered both Turkish fayre for us to try and british friendly which would suit the children or less adventurous. Pools were always clean, plenty of sunbeds and shaded areas.
Haven't had a packaged holiday for many years and never on an all inclusive. Would certainly try another and if you want a reasonably priced lazy holiday this hotel would fit the bill.
Lesson to be learnt...always go with an open mind and treat people with respect...you never know how helpful and pleasant they can be.

My husband and I arrived home from our holiday yesterday 19/07/09. We had a really good time!
Grand Kurdoglu hotel was alot better than we had expected. The food was great! My husband is a very fussy eater and he thought the food was fine and always had plenty to eat. The drinks also were great, as much as you like all day and night long.... well untill 22:00 when the all inclusive ends. Thats a bit of a bummer but hey, at 22:00 you can go for a short walk and hit the bars for a few!
The pool is located on the roof of this hotel. It isnt very big but a fine size. You do have to put your towel on a sunbed around 08:00am inorder to reserve a sunbed as there is not enough sunbeds for everyone. However across the road there is another hotel that is part of this hotel which has a much larger pool which you are able to use.
The hotel staff are nice and friendly and always willing to help.
I would go back to this hotel. All the nice food and drink you can cram in! You can count on the hot hot hot weather in Turkey!
Please dont be put off by the negative reports some people have put on here about this hotel, there is nothing wrong with the place!
Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!!!

The grand kurdoglu hotel was Brilliant! Had an exellent time as i was friendly with most of the other guests. The food was different and there was different selection every night! They gave you 4 meals a day! Breakfast, Lunch, Snack ( which was burgers, pizza and chips cooked infront of you ) and then you had dinner which was Turkish. The All inclusive was good even though it only opened to 10 but the waiter lets you get a good few glasses before 10pm! The workers at the hotel were all really friendly and were always happy to help. The only downfall with them is some don't speak alot of english but i suppose it's not there language. Overall it was really good! Me and m daighter really enjoyed it as there where plenty of clubs outside the hotel for her to go to. I would really Recomend this hotel to anyone! The hotel is GREAT !!

I've just got back from a week long holiday with my family aging from 17 to 45. The journey from the airport was a nightmare (roughly 2hrs) and once you arrive at the hotel you feel like you have travelled around the world and back!!! The hotel is a little dated but the staff were very friendly, and worked very hard to ensure we enjoyed our time there. The food was surprisingly good and non of my family could find faults with it..even the most fussy of us all!! There are chips, chicken, veg, soup, curries etc and omlettes, pancakes, toast, fruit and cereal for breakfast. The rooms were very clean and a lot nicer than the pictures on the internet, my only complaint is that the all inclusive finshes too early and there isn't much entertainment...sitting around a tv in the lobby is not what i would class as a karaoke night. To be honest i would not visit this hotel again but it wasn't bad at all and a lot of the reviews on here are a little harsh.
