We went to the Glarus hotel for 1 week at the end of September 2005.The hotel was not too bad, the rooms were clean but was not keen on the bathroom, it was extremely basic.
I found the hotel staff to be either ignorant or just clueless!!! They appear to be very rude at times and never smile then they just ignore everything you have asked.
The beach is very nice but you do have to pay 18 lev a day for beds which over a week is a lot. Also there are a lot of people that hassle you.
I would not come back to this hotel although there are some bargains to be sought in the nearby shops.

Went to this hotel around mid September in 2007. Having looked at the comment from the previous respondent I am in total agreement.
The staff are very unhelpful, ignorant and downright rude at times. In particular the blond night desk woman is absolutely awful. The bar staff are somewhat nicer and more helpful and even crack a smile now and then.
But, how on earth this hotel got three stars is beyond me.
The breakfast again is certainly not up to par with overly runny scrambled eggs, bacon that looks barely cooked and if you fancy a selection of meat and cheeses with the breakfast I wouldn't trust it as it looks like the really really cheap stuff you would find in a super duper cheap savers supermarket. I went with the croissants for most of the duration of my stay.
As for the decor the lobby and outside is pleasant enough. However, go up a few flights and you soon see a different story. The corridors that line the rooms look quite dirty and the flooring certainly needs revamped. The first room we went into they gave us a twin room and not a double as we asked for, complete with faulty TV, a toilet that kept on flushing, and several lights needing a change of light bulb.
The next room we occupied was better though the sheets did not cover the full bed and were not changed once in the whole week we were staying there. The curtains and chair covers are done in an awful light blue and floral pattern, which looks as if it hasn't been changed since the seventies.
The bathroom was particularly bad where the shower was not properly fitted into the unit and so water went everywhere (didn't know if it was meant to be a wet room or not). It was very small and the toilet seat was a cheap plastic shell type.
One plus point is that the hotel is right on the beach. However, what they don't tell you is that just before the beach the main pedestrian drag is there with all the clubs and bars so expect not to get any sleep before 5pm in the morning. This is no joke but having done quite a bit of travelling, I have stayed in youth hostels that are nicer than this hotel.
On Bulgaria as a whole if it is a quiet relaxing week or two off you are looking for I wouldn't go to the Sunny Beach resort. It is very touristy and all the prices are inflated something rotten. I met a couple in the airport who said they went to Sozopol which is about an hour South of Sunny Beach which they said was cheaper, nicer and less crowds. It depends what you’re looking for if you want a lager filled holiday with lots of partying go to Sunny Beach if not go somewhere else.
Hope this a help to people, but I certainly won't be returning to Bulgaria and certainly not to Sunny Beach and that awful hotel.
