Situated on the outskirts of Santa Eulalia it is conveniently located for a quiet holiday away from the famous night life of Ibiza. I'm not sure that the Thomson platinum rating applies as much to this hotel as we have experienced with other hotels with the same rating,... more

This hotel was excellent value for money. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, as were all the staff. The wellness Centre offered an extensive range of treatments as well as wonderful sauna, steam and SPA facilities. The hotel was kept very clean. The food... more

Shame about the food!
We stayed at the Grupotel, Santa Eulalia, Ibiza from 14 – 28 June 2008. We booked our holiday in October 2007 so we were not on a cheap, last-minute deal. We understand that the hotel used to be 5 Star. It is currently 4 Star but for how long? The Public Rooms are spacious and well laid out. The Bedrooms are attractive and well appointed. We had a fantastic view of the Mediterranean from our balcony. The Staff are friendly, cheerful and efficient. We liked the location of the hotel, enjoyed walks along the promenade and through the marina and were delighted with our choice of resort. The food in the Restaurant is barely 3 Star. It is cheap. The hot food at breakfast and dinner is poor quality and is not kept hot enough. I decided to make the best of it and have a main course from the cold buffet until for two nights running there was no cold meat. We gave up having dinner in the hotel and ate out. Perhaps the budget is insufficient to provide better quality food. (We personally enjoyed the food and the setting at the Atenea Restaurant which is located on the promenade about 25 - 30 minutes walk away. There is a good choice of food and the hot food is hot. The drinks prices are very reasonable.) The Bar was a great place to have a quiet drink as it was virtually empty in the evenings except when the Euro 2008 Football was being shown and during the entertainment which was on 3 nights each week and lasted for approx 1 – 1 ¼ hours. Our fellow guests just seemed to evaporate perhaps because there was little to encourage them to stay in the hotel in the evening. It is customary for hotel guests who have finished reading their books and magazines to leave them in a public area for fellow guests to enjoy. A few days after we arrived we left two very distinctive books out for fellow guests and a day or two later they were on sale in the hotel shop! We don't, of course, know how they got there but I took my remaining books home to give to a charity shop.
Very relaxing, clean and quiet
Having been to Barcelona for a week prior to our stay at the Grupotel we were ready for a relaxing week - thats what we got. The walk into town is around 15 minutes to reach the marina area where there are shops and bars. It is a little longer to get to the beach, but we did not visit there during our stay. There is a local supermarket 5 minutes from the hotel and another at the marina. The hotel is very quiet as it is more of a couples hotel than families and groups, resulting in less noise. There is entertainment organised 3 times a week and lots of seating area inside and out if you want to have drinks or some food. The comments about the food being orientated towards german and spanish cuisine is, in my opinion, untrue. There is a wide range of choice, however the quality is not great - but the hotel is a 4 star so its to be expected and is no worse than other hotels offering buffet breakfast and dinner. The hotel is spotless, as is the spa downstairs. The spa is of an excellent standard, far superior to many UK hotels. Just be a little careful when booking a massage/spa treatments as there was a mix up with ours resulting in my partner having a 20min treatment whilst mine was 40 minutes. If you are visiting Ibiza for a relaxing time then stay at this hotel. The staff are very friendly, speak a variety of languages and are always happy to help.
A lovely break
Having just returned from this hotel we would certainly go back. Yes, it is quite a walk into Santa Eulalia but we had hired a car for the length of our stay so this did not worry us. It is true the hotel does cater foodwise more in favour of the Spanish and Germans but we could always find something to suit us. Our room was spotless, cleaned thoroughly everyday and towels changed everyday. We found that the staff that we came in to contact with were very pleasant and the reception staff were very helpful.
Food Cold
We have just come back from the Grupotel Santa Eulalia A Thomson hotel , we will not be going back the food was terrible , it just did not cater for the English , a very Spanish & German hotel , they say it is a four star hotel , but I would not give it a 2star , speaking to people on holiday they said it was a Thomson premium hotel last year well it looks as if buy 2010 it will be a 2star . The hotel its self was very nice but the walk in to Santa Eulalia was more then 15 MIN: it took us 30MIn: and we do a lot of walking so please if you are bad on your feet the hotel and location is not for you.
Lovely, Relaxing Hotel
We stayed at the Grupotel Santa Eulalia during 2006, and yes we are returning this year. The food is excellent and a great wine list. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool area and also by the back of the hotel facing the sea. It is about a 20 min walk to Santa Eulalia but walking past the Marina breaks this up. There is plenty to see and do in Santa Eulalia, and it is not rowdy, it is very cosmopolitan. The hotel rooms are modern and very clean, with lovely small loungers on the balconies. The spa is suberb and spent much time there, as well as the treatments which are very affordable. We did not see the night time entertainment, out of our choice, so I cannot comment about that. Staff are very friendly throughout the hotel. We visited many places around Ibiza during our stay. It was our 1st time there, we are definately going back this year. There is not a great deal there for families at the hotel which appeals to us. However, Thomsons have taken this hotel from the Platinum range, I really don't know why. This is a fabulous relaxing 4*. We cannot wait to go back this Autumn.
I'd defeinitely recommend it
My boyfriend and I spent 12 days there at the end of June / beginning of July. We had booked a double room half-board. We had previously been to Ibiza (San Antonio) and loved the island but didn't like San An so much and were looking for somewhere a bit classier for our 2nd holiday on the island. Santa Eularia is a pleasant small town ideal for families. We found it a bit boring so we rented a car and travelled around the island, using the hotel as our base. And the hotel itself? Wonderful!! Really clean and tastefully designed, friendly and helpful staff, big pool and a FANTASTIC spa complete with indoor pool, jacuzzi, saunas and gym. The buffet restaurant was great too with a wonderful variety of delicious, fresh food often cooked there and then by eternally-smily chefs! It's a shame that water wasn't included in the price at dinnertime: I can understand having to pay extra for wine / beer / sodas but water is a basic necessity! That's the only thing I could possibly complain about though. The hotel organised evening entertainment 4 nights per week which was about right. The quality of the entertainment was fine: no great shakes but we were indeed entertained! I would definitely recommend this hotel, in particular to families or to couples who want to have a relaxing holiday. I would also recommend renting a car and travelling around a bit (the hotel has a huge underground car park too) as Ibiza is a great island and this lovely hotel is the cherry on the cake.
Spotless, good food, relaxed location. Perfect hotel for a break away from home.
As a couple in their late twnties, this hotel was a perfect resolve from the busy lives we lead in the UK. Our requirements were to stay in a hotel that's clean, with reasonable food, a pool, a place to relax and to have amenities nearby if needed. Grupotel answered all of these and more.Oh, and the sun had to be shining too. Good points: South facing pool and loungers so the sun shines all day long. Clean pool with comfy sun loungers. Complimentry beach towels. Friendly, attentive, mulit lingual staff. 5* cleaners. Large selection of breakfast and dinner buffet menus. Supermarket 5 mins stroll down the road. 'Beach' bar 2 mins round to the corner Free use of gym and spa (jacuzzi, steam room, sauna etc) Reasonably priced treatments (massages etc) Relaxing atmosphere Plenty of room to sunbathe just out of the grounds by the sea (on cliff top type thing) where it's nice and breezy and shady. It's just a two-storey hotel so doesn't feel too 'big' Not so good points (and very minor ones at that): A good 15 min walk to Santa Eualria town (and quite boring walk too as it's residential) No access to beach, but you can swim in the sea via the steps that lead out from the craggy rocks by the hotel. (not for children though) We would've got bored of the food if we'd stayed any longer than a week, but it was very fresh. It's not an old hotel but it's quite dated in decor - but who spends their time inside on holiday?! All in all it suited us down to the ground for our few days away-from-it-all. Lovely.
Quiet and clean
Stayed here for a week in June 2007. After booking we were concerned to read reviews on various sites explaining that the hotel was a long walk from the town/marina which concerned us. It is true to say that the hotel is in a residential area and pretty deserted when walking back late at night but it is not true to say that the hotel is a long walk away (providing you take the back doubles), so dont let this put you off unless you have difficulty waling about. The hotel was very quiet with more mature guests but very very clean. Food was ok if you like buffett style meals etc. Overall for the price I would give it a go and stay there again if we were in the area. We looked at a more expensive hotel (double the price) in the area opposite the marina and thought this was run down and not up to the same standard especially the pool which was tiny and packed unlike the pool at the Grupotel.
Great hotel
Lovely hotel in a residential part of Santa Eulalia (or is it Santa Eularia?). Staff and facilities at the hotel were superb. No complaints about the food either. The entertainment on offer at the hotel was not always entertaining but the bar was fine! The resort of Santa Eulalia was a little disappointing and a long walk from the hotel. Shops were closing by 8:00pm although there were bars around the place especially the marina area. The pool and spa facilities at the hotel made up for the very long walk to a beach.
Tranquility
If you want peace and quiet .a relaxing holiday this is a lovely hotel. It is about 800 yards from a small beach but the pool is lovely and relaxing. The rooms are very clean and the staff are very helpful. The food is excellent and varied.Last year we went at the beginning of June 2005 aqnd enjoyed it so much we are going back this year in May .Bill Macdonald fro Manchester
