Me and my new husband went on a week long honeymoon on the 18th of July 2005.


This is a Thomson gold holiday but as we hadn’t been on one before we didn’t know what to expect! Only that there will be no children on the complex!


When we arrived at the hotel, which is really stunning with new fountains and seating out front, a porter took our cases then brought them up to our room after we had checked in, all the reception staff spoke perfect English and were very friendly, the room was lovely and large and had a great view from the balcony, the room does have a mini bar in which gets checked and refilled everyday, the prices are the same as in the dining room so are pretty good ( 1 euro 40 for a bottle of Fanta or Amstel )



The pool area is really large and there are 2 Jacuzzis the only thing is you aren’t allowed inflatables in the pool, as the manager thinks it will lower the tone !! Quite disappointed about this as it didn’t drop below 100 degrees once and we both like floating round the pool on an airbed.


There is a poolside bar and cafe but it is a limited menu, the nearest other bars etc are a 10 min walk away down the harbour, and the one at the pool stops serving food about 4pm.


The hotel is all immaculately clean, even the resident cat is well fed and clean!

The thing that sets this hotel apart from any other we have stayed in is the food. WOW we came home weighing a lot more than when we arrived, the choice is amazing, I have never seen as much, there is so much to choose from ( they even have a full time food sculptor chef ) and each area in the dining room has its own waitress to make sure that when you leave to get another course your table is cleaned while your gone and to get you your drinks, the dining room like the rest of the hotel is spotless.


The only thing that we found wrong was that the entertainment is aimed at more of a middle aged couple ( we are 30 ) and it stops at dead on 12 every night. The acts themselves were good but they were a lot of motown and older comedians etc, so we ended up spending a fortune on taxis to go clubbing!


If I was to go on holiday without kids again I would definitely go back ( my mums already booked for next year ) but alas I cant palm the kids off for another week, unless we get married again.


This hotel should be a lot more than a 3 star
