Unless you have been here before you may not get the room you would like. It seemed to us that all the best rooms had been given to their regulars. So if you had booked a room that looked outy over the marina or the swiming pool , all you got was a view of the boat yard, so... more

Good Hotel in Good location
Stayed here for one week in early October 2007. Hotel was good, staff very pleasant and food OK - if a bit too British. Hotel was spotless and generally quiet which was what we wanted. Santa Eularia is a good resort with lots of shops bars and eating places. There is some building work close to the hotel but it was not intrusive or noticeably noisy. Would go again but be careful with choice of room as there is a large marina on one side of the hotel (the pool side) which could be noisy with the wind rattling the rigging of the boats. October could be a bit late if you like sun all the time.
Beware first times guests
First time guests beware. We had an awful room 227 second floor but level with the roof of the kitchen and entertainment room.We had a10 inch step up to the balcony with no means of support to get up or down. We were woken every morning by the cleaners moving the chairs and tables underneath us. When sitting on the balcony all you could see was the tops of the trees and what was a building site a new hotel going up and a new Congress hall being built, some days all you could hear was rock breakers and pneumatic drills going. The hotel we felt was not up to a 4 star standard Our warning to first time guests it seems you get the rubbish rooms as there is a notice in reception that says if you rebook another holiday you can ring up and book the room of your choice so what chance do first time guests have of getting a decent room. We were offered 2 new rooms after 6 days but none of them were any better One was right outside the front entrance and the other on the corner where all the deliveries come and the staff sit and take their breaks and over the kitchen once again. There were no quiet areas to sit after dinner and perhaps have a game of cards etc. The music was very loud even when there was no entertainment you could hardly hear yourself speak. You could not lay around the pool and just pop in for a swim, You had to lay on a so called beach which was sand thrown on the rocks and not the nicest place to lay.All in all we were very disappointed with the hotel thank goodness Santa Eulalia was a lovely area to be in.
A Fantastic Hotel
We have just returned from the Ses estaques Hotel, Santa Eulalia, Ibiza, the hotel is a Thomson Gold Hotel i.e. no children under 16, I was in room 410 with views over the marina, the pool & the sea it was fantastic, we had upgraded our room & when we arrived we received the views as described plus a bowl of fresh fruit, bottle of wine, dressing gowns & slippers etc. The staff during our visit were fantastic with nothing being too much trouble, the food in both the dining room & the pool bar was very good, the dining room being buffet, one night during the week we were allowed to book a meal in the A'la Cart restaurant free of charge this was very good with views to die for 30 meters from the sea. This hotel is one of the BEST Hotels I have ever stayed in, not one to miss.
Not a "Gold" Hotel!
We've booked Tres Torres hotel for a 2 night Bank Holiday break last weekend and when we arrived there Friday lunch time, we were told that it was fully booked and Thomson "upgraded" us to Ses Estaques which is a "Thomson Gold" hotel and we would be given one of the best rooms. BUT our room would not be ready until 18:30! We were disappointed that we were there only for 2 nights and no room for 6 hours! We didn't kick up a fuss or anything as all we wanted to do was lie on the beach anyway.. We went to Ses to get changed and although it looks lovely from outside, was such a disappointment! I don't think it has been refurbished since the 70s. We got changed and went to the town centre beaches as the one in front of the hotel is absolutely disgusting! Really dirty. Anyway, after having a lovely afternoon on the beach, came back and got the key to our room. It was on the ground floor, seemed clean but very soft old mattresses (yes it was a twin room, although we had specifically booked a double room) and a bit of damp smell.......:( Although our deal was half board we went out and had a nice dinner by the marina. As many people mentioned Santa Eulalia is a lovely town. You have to have some ice-cream at Miretti's:) Next morning we had breakfast which was quite basic was perfectly ok. and again we spent the whole day out on the beach. boat tour and dinner out. On both nights when we returned to our room, there was this cheesy entertainment on and looking at those poor souls, old age pensioners, who thought they booked a lovely Thomson “GOLD” holiday, I couldn’t help feeling sorry for them that they had to spend at least a week here. We checked out at 11 am on Sunday and asked if we could come back later in the evening and get showered and changed before our flights at 1 am. We were told that it could be possible but latest by 17:30…We returned the hotel around 19:00 and got changed in the toilets then the cleaner spotted me, she couldn’t speak any English but it was obvious, she felt sorry for us and tried to take us to a room. By then, I was fully dressed. I thanked her but said I had already showered on the beach . Then she got the receptionist to speak English and she said “oh, we can let you use our staff room, please come with me” I then got annoyed and said “ Thank you very much for the offer but no thanks. I’m sorry but we were told that after 5:30 we couldn’t use any rooms and we briefly showered on the beach and dried and could have a nice shower at home in the morning!” She apologised a couple of times… All in all, I would never go back to this hotel and anyone thinking it’s a “gold” hotel, beware! Ok, I’ve got to say, me and my husband are spoilt, we always stay at top hotels but for £116 a night, we stayed a real 5 star superb hotels in Turkey etc. and Ses Estaques definetely was not worth £116 a night.
Good Hotel
We have just returned from a two-week holiday at the above hotel.and found that it is a good clean place with very friendly and efficient staff with a 'hands on' manager who was always about. As with most hotels the breakfast and dinner were of the buffet variety, they were ok but nothing special with the main course of the dinner rather bland and by the end of the 14th night we had had enough. The entertainment was'nt too bad with different acts on most nights together with some good comedians. The 'camp' hosts were just that, i say no more. The hotel is fully non-smoking inside and with no kids ,as it is a Thomson Gold hotel this suited us perfectly. The hotel is situated in a pleasant position although there is'nt a beach at hand there are a couple of nice beaches in the resort.Santa Eulalia is a lovely resort with plenty of good bars and restaurants, shop around for cheaper beer as the price fluctuates from place to place. As regarding the hotel i think a 10-night stay would have been better but this is a good hotel and we would certainly go back but not for two weeks.
What a disappointment !
We had looked forward to this vacation and paid extra for what had been advertised as a SUPERIOR ROOM. When we entered this 'superior room' it was so obvious that it was nowhere near being such. We overlooked the building site and an area of scruffy building materials. When we tried to change this - pointing out that we had paid extra etc. the reception were almost hostile! Eventually the rep. managed to get us moved - but it still was NOT what we had paid for. O.K. it was a bit better and overlooked the boatyard! If you book one of these rooms and obviously pay extra all I would say is BEWARE. The rep. - who breached confidences several times - explained or made excuses and said that all that was extra was tea/ coffee making facilities in the room. If you look it up, you will see how expensive that makes a cup of whatever. What a great shame that this clouded what otherwise turned out to be a good break. Santa Eulalia is a pleasant resort. Lots of shops, bars etc. to wander around. A trip on the little train which sets off from the square is a must! There are some lovely boat trips as well either way along the coast. The trip to Ibiza Town was enjoyable and relaxing - if you go early in the morning there is plenty of time to have a leisurely wander around. These boats run regularly and keep to their schedule very well. You can also take the bus around the island - so easy and such pleasant drivers etc. - all very ready to help and tell you what to see and where to drop off if necessary. We took one trip across the island to San Antonio. Plenty to see and do there - if only to sit at a little cafe and watch all those youngsters quietly recovering from their hangovers! I was disappointed with the hotel and certainly the Rep. Everything else was ace!! Thus, we would return to Santa Eulalia. We would have to consider as to which hotel very carefully 'though.
Brilliant!!!!!
Arrived back from staying at the Ses Estaques last night and I have to say it was one of the best holidays I have had for a while. With this being a hotel for the older generation I thought I might have felt left out as Im in my late 20's, but I wasnt. I was made to feel welcome by everyone. The Thomson Team 2006 are brilliant, very friendly and are always there to chat to you. I must say the entertainment reps, Chris and Ian are the most funniest duo going. Chris with that laugh of his and Ian well.... what can I say, he is just so funny. Got on well with both of them and for few mornings it was just us three doing water fitness. The hotel itself is in a brilliant location right on the beach with its own private beach, but dont leave your bags lying around as it is used as a public way through. Cannot fault the location, but it is a good walk to the shops ( around 20 mins ). The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to make you happy. Its also good to see a manager who goes out of his way to make sure you are happy and a manager who does not hide from his guests!!! The rooms are clean and comfortable. Daytime entertainment varies each day, but it is always good to join in. There is also a chance to join in days out including sailing, wine tasting, but I was only there for a week and the one I wanted to go on was on the day I was returning. I recommend this hotel to everyone over the age of 16.
Not for us
We stayed at this hotel last August. If you are a little older and want plenty of peace and quiet then this is ideal, we prefer a little more of an ambience in the hotel and found none in here. At mealtimes the resturant was very quiet, too quiet. Meals were basic and one night there were fish balls and cheese on toast for dinner, with the best will in the world i do not go to a hotel that is by the way a Thomson Gold Hotel and expect to have this kind of food. there were other dishes available but I feel the whole hotel is geared towards the older guest so if you are young or even young at heart i recommend you think before you book this hotel. Rooms were clean and really quite nice and the hotel was only 10 minutes walk around the Marina from the town and beach. The beach by the hotel is rocky and not very good but the main beach in the town is lovely. Santa Eulalia itself is lovely and we would go back.
Great hotel
Just returned from the Ses Estaques, in fact today!August 2004. Hotel very clean, rooms cleaned and tidied every day, All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is very good. Although it was nice to go out and have a meal in one of the restaurants in town for a change. If you like to stay around the hotel, there is varied entertainment throughout the day and evening. We always prefer to go out and visit the different bars, etc in the resort. Very nice long promenade. Take the mini-train ride which leaves in the front of the townhall three times a day for an amusing experience.
HEAVEN
Have been holidaying at the Ses Estaques for the last 15 years.Excellant hotel.Quiet,no children.Meet up with the same crowd every year.It is like a second home.Ideal for couples who want good company and a relaxing time. Mike Fairweather
