Not a 4 stars hotel
from MAXY_8
I have been to the Marbella Playa Hotel this July with my wife and my to little kids aged 8 and 4. Let's start from the mini Club. One single group mixing kids of 4 with kids of 10 years... you can imagine how well it can work. The food was pretty average and was indeed monotonous for somebody staying 2 weeks. The so called "show cooking" is just about seeing a couple of very busy guys trying to manage 3 different tasks at a time (making crepes, serving pasta and grilling the meat on a dirty plate...) it was pretty hilarious rather than...

Management response from P-Stor
Thanks to your comments, I am able to realize your perception of our PRODUCT and mostly important for us is the QUALITY and KINDNESS of the SERVICE.
Concerning your comment about the long waiting time in our “Show-Cooking”, we understand your claim. Basically it happens in special cases.
Concerning your comment about the insects, we inform you, that we dispose about programmes of protection against insect and rats pests and we apply them more than set up by law. This situation does not happen very often and depends on the hot clime we have in this area. In the moments of extreme temperatures, especially the flying insects enter from the garden or from the street.
We are very sorry about your comments that our staff services were not very satisfactory; because all our formation is based to improve the kindliness and be professional to our guests. We work hardly every day to get it and we invest a lot of time and moneymaking formation and new courses during six months each year. Any employed has to do an obligatory course about a minimum 24 hours every year. Also they can assist to a large number of specialization courses of free choice.
Alot of wildlife!

I stayed here as a solo traveller. The reception is nicely decorated (as they all are), the staff were friendly. The room was qhite far away from the reception and the restaurant. There were lots and lots of wild cats around the whole resort which completely put me off. I was scared that a ferrel cat searching for food was going to pounce on me after a night out! The distance to the rooms didnt help the situation. The hotel is really only accessible by car or taxi. It is a bit isolated. For a 4 star hotel i would expect better.
Fantastic Experience
from AJCVilla
We recently returned from a short (5 nights break) at the hotel playa. It was a fantastic few days, and very relaxing. The hotel is circa 45 mins drive from Malaga airport, straight down the A-7. The hotel is set-up as a series of bungalows, each containing 2 large beds, a fridge and large bathroom. The terrace was great and seated 4 people comfortably. The grounds of the hotel were spotless as were both the outdoor and indoor pools. Plenty of sun loungers on both the beach and around the pool. We stayed half-board. We...

Extended Summer at Marbella Playa !
from Little_Hummingbird
We (a couple in their early and mid 30s) stayed at the Marbella Playa hotel for 2 weeks in October 2007. It was an overall good experience and we had a really relaxing and interesting holiday. NOT in a nutshell: ROOMS Check-in is fast and we were glad to be housed in a room in one of the many colourful villas. The bellboy will drive you and your luggage to your villa in a golfcart – this ride is somewhat of an adventure in itself as the fun driver is a real cowboy and knows exactly how (short) to turn and how (hard) to brake...

loved the hotel and the staff
from prestonpablo
The hotel has an excellent location right on the beach, you gain access to the beach through an electronic gate just insert your key card, this adds to the security, and gives piece of mind that your personal belongings are quite safe.the pool and the surrounding gardens are really impressive, and all are kept spotlesly clean, the restraunt is again the same ,the food and service is excellent ,there are a couple of restraunts one if you turn to your right facing the sea is about 5 minutes walk down the sandy beach its called El Rinconcito,it is...

Autumn in Marbella
from The2As
Generally, the hotel is good although in need of a bit of TLC in areas. If you like the sea and staying around the pool and the hotel then you will be OK. However, if you like walking around looking at shops etc then it is a bit isolated to do this. Meal times can be a bit manic during busy periods and the choice of food, although good, could be better, it’s always a good measure when there is fresh fruit! The some of the staff are more efficient than friendly, although the maid service is good. The grounds of the hotel...

good hotel but 'O' to food.
from Barley12
This hotel is let down by the restaurant and the lack of good management. The gardens and rooms are well tended and clean but the food is terrible, the Chef if there is one should be made to eat it him/her self everyday. The reception is just as bad, they do not appear to be able to deal with a number of guests arriving at the same time. The only staff member who would make eye contact in any way was the room maid and her supervisor both of whom were wonderful. The main problem is that the Management, if there is any, do not walk the...

4Star?
from stevmk2
This hotel is supposed to be 4 star. Well, It might have been a few years ago but it's in dire need of an upgrade as it's a bit scruffy & the little bungalows all around the main building are accessed by dodgy, unlit steps in various places. We had one that was okay with a tiny terrace but the A/C was useless, & the light switches are all inter-connected so you have to work out a sequence going in and out or you will find that you have to stumble around in the dark! The bathroom was very tired too and in need of replacing. The...

what a shambles
from tigerfeetiger
Stayed 7 nights at the Marbella Player in late september(should have been 8 nights). Arrived at reception at 9.30pm on Tues only to be told we were not booked into this hotel but booked into their sister hotel in Estoponia, half an hours drive away. To say we were not happy is an understatement. The receptionist was not helpful at all and insisted that it was the fault of the travel agents we had booked with and nothing to do with them. He told us to go to the other hotel and sort it out with the travel agent in the morning. Well we were...

Great accommodation, shame about the service
from Sandy5
Stayed at the Marbella Playa for 14 nights Sept/Oct 06. Accommodation is in 1 bedroom bungalows surrounding main hotel which were of a very high standard. Large outdoor pool kept at a reasonable temperature (the sea was freezing!) grounds lead down to a security gate which accesses a wonderful sandy beach. Marbella itself was 6 km away and with a curtesy bus which was on first come first serve basis and oversubscribed travel was a little difficult. We were staying on a an all exclusive basis but found the two bars to be so understaffed,...
